Abstract

Research and community service are one of the activities included in the threefold missions of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) in Indonesia that consists of 1) Education and Teaching, 2) Research and Development, and 3) Community Service. The current conditions at the university are still experiencing problems on controlling these activities because they are handled manually by the party concerned. As a result of this manual process, the activity process becomes inefficient and makes the existing process scattered and not managed properly. Therefore, this research is conducted to create a research information system and community service based on a website application to overcome these problems. With this website application, lecturers can easily submit research results quickly, reviewers can evaluate existing research also leaders can see the entire process of ongoing activities. Lecturers can also transparently see the existing assessment process and leaders have visibility of all ongoing activities.

Abstract

Specific attention in this study is given to Universitas Universal's scholarship programs, which rely on entrance exam results for selection, prompting the exploration of more efficient and objective decision-making processes. The study draws inspiration from existing research, particularly those utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), but distinguishes itself by evolving criteria to include exam scores, computer literacy, motivation, and program understanding. The primary focus is on addressing selection challenges in the software engineering program for post-admission students at Universitas Universal. By employing AHP, the study aims to provide a comprehensive decision support system, offering a prospective solution for future scholarship selection challenges. From the results of the AHP program that has been researched, it has been found that the scholarship recipient candidate is the first candidate with a score of 0.518.

Abstract

The development of technology and information systems has now grown rapidly and has penetrated various aspects of human life. Starting from education, government, health, to trade, technology has been implemented to help their business processes. One area that is important to protect from these risks is the health sector. The institutions responsible in this field are hospitals that provide health services to the community. Rahman Rahim Hospital is a type D general hospital located in Kebonagung Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency. Rahman Rahim Hospital has implemented a Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS). This needs to receive more attention, considering that health assets are a vital component for maintaining the smooth operational processes of hospitals. Serious and continuous action in protecting health assets can increase the security of health assets in order to protect patient rights and maintain the integrity of hospitals. Information system audits are carried out using the ISO/IEC 27001 framework. Implementation of ISO/IEC 27001 protects all aspects of information security, namely confidentiality, integrity and availability. This results in a maturity level index of 2.46 which is at the Planned and Tracked level. The gap obtained from the average objective control calculation is 2.5.

Abstract

Demand forecasting is the most important thing for every company in running a business. Demand forecasting is an activity of predicting or estimating what will happen in the future using certain techniques. Research to identify forecasting demand for filter bags so that we can maintain stock of goods and find out the number of products in the future in the face of certain obstacles or conditions to reduce the risks or uncertainties faced. Research methods are constant method, linear trend, and quadratic method. In forecasting Bag Filter demand, three methods are used, namely, the constant method, the linear method and the quadratic method. These three methods have different standard error values. The smallest error level is the constant method. Based on constant data, the number of requests for filter bags for April 2022 – March 2023 is 235 filter bags.

Abstract

A vegetarian diet is a pattern that avoids meat consumption and increases the intake of plant-based foods, which has attracted public interest with claims of its health benefits. Starting a vegetarian diet correctly and ensuring adequate nutritional information is a challenge for beginners. Very few outreach media still suit young people's needs in visual form. This research aims to design and build an Android-based visual novel game as an easy-to-understand educational medium about the vegetarian lifestyle. Game development applies the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) section and beta testing using data collection techniques through questionnaires. The application was made using Unity Engine version 2020. The results of the research through the creation of a visual novel game showed that the results of a questionnaire were obtained where 66.7% of respondents answered that they were very motivated to become vegetarian and 57.6% responded that they were very interested in adopting a vegetarian lifestyle.

Abstract

Teknologi komputer merupakan ilmu yang berhubungan dengan komputasi, salah satu komputasinya berupa sistem bilangan. Sistem bilangan dapat berupa bilangan biner, oktal, desimal dan hexa desimal. Secara harfiah, teknologi komputer hanya bekerja dengan bahasa mesin yaitu 1 dan 0. Untuk mempelajari konsep kerja dari proses konversi bilangan dari biner menjadi bilangan desimal, diperlukan simulasi atau percangan prototipe sederhana. Apa lagi jika ingin mengetahui konfigurasi perangkat hingga penerapan logika algoritama konversi, tentu memerlukan media sebagai alat bantu. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut, maka diperlukan perancangan aplikasi memanfaatkan switch button dalam konversi sistem bilangan biner dan desimal untuk media pembelajaran. Konsep perancangan yang digunakan menerapkan pendekatan model extreme programming yang disederhanakan menjadi empat bagian, yakni: perencanaan, pengembangan, pengujian dan kesimpulan. Hasil pembuatan aplikasi dan evaluasi yang dilakukan setelah melakukan pengujian secara internal untuk mengetahui semua fungsi komponen inputan menunjukkan bawah semua komponen dari aplikasi tersebut berfungsi sebagaimana yang diinginkan.

Abstract

Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus. This study applies the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method to classify monkeypox cases. Utilizing SVM aids in accurate diagnosis and prevention measures. Preprocessing involves Random Oversampling (ROS) and Random Undersampling (RUS) to address class imbalance in symptom datasets. SVM classification is based on systemic symptoms and clinical signs. Evaluation via Confusion Matrix assesses accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and AUC, with average accuracy reaching 67.1% for imbalanced data and 36.5% for balanced data. The method outperforms conventional techniques, demonstrating its potential in monkeypox symptom pattern recognition. Results indicate higher accuracy in diagnosing monkeypox using SVM, despite class imbalances. This study contributes to understanding, predicting, and managing monkeypox outbreaks effectively.

Abstract

This research describes the impact of paradigm changes in science, especially in the context of image type classification. By paying attention to Thomas Kuhn's concept of paradigm, the research presents a review of contemporary historiography that highlights how paradigm shifts influence the way scientists see the world, introduce new instruments, and seek new places. However, as technologies like AI increasingly seep into everyday life, doubts remain, especially if the technology is perceived as unable to solve problems or provide the desired assistance. In the face of these doubts, the research proposes that the philosophy of communication science can provide in-depth theoretical insights, provide space for critical reflection on existing paradigms, and guide researchers in understanding the evolution of paradigms for image type classification methods. In addition, this research also considers the importance of image type classification in the context of AI technology. By identifying different types of imagery and their role as input to AI algorithms, this research provides a theoretical foundation for further understanding how AI technologies process and interpret visual data. Through a comprehensive literature review, this research aims to fill existing knowledge gaps and provide a strong theoretical basis to support further research in the field of image type classification and AI technology implementation.

Abstract

The low ability of humans to absorb material from what they read, hear, and see, and the combination of seeing and hearing increases the absorption of material by up to 50%. This situation shows the need for efforts to improve student learning outcomes. One solution proposed to overcome this problem is using interactive animation in learning. This research aims to analyze, design, and implement interactive learning applications at the XYZ Islamic Boarding School in Polewali Mandar Regency. Then examine how information and communication technology can be used to overcome the problem of lack of teaching aids and make the learning process more interesting and effective. Research methods include needs analysis, application design, development, and implementation evaluation. This study also refers to the successful use of multimedia technology in education, such as multimedia-based Al-Quran learning applications and interactive educational games that increase student learning motivation. The research results in the form of interactive learning applications can improve the quality of learning in Islamic boarding schools, make the teaching and learning process more fun and interactive, and help students absorb material more effectively.

Abstract

Blood is a combination of plasma and cells that circulate throughout the body, functioning to distribute oxygen and nutrients. Predicting the need for blood supplies at a certain time is a complex challenge because it is influenced by various factors such as the number of donors, patient demand, and the limited shelf life of blood. Monte Carlo simulation has emerged as a useful tool in modeling and predicting the state of complex systems. In the context of blood supply, Monte Carlo Simulation allows researchers and hospital administrators to identify optimal supply levels taking into account various existing variables and uncertainties. This method uses random numbers to simulate various scenarios that may occur in the future, helping in planning more accurately and responsively to changes in blood demand and supply. Thus, Monte Carlo Simulation plays an important role in ensuring sufficient blood availability, reducing the risk of shortages, and optimizing blood supply management in hospitals and blood transfusion units.
