Abstract

The purpose of the research is to increase students affective ability of class VII  A  SMP  Negeri 16  Surakarta  through the implementation of  Cooperative Learning by Group Investigation method on Environmental pollution material. This research is a  Classroom Action Research with two cycles of action. Each cycle  consisting of four  phases  which is  planning,  acting, observing,  and reflecting. Observational  data obtained from the  questionaire, observation, and interview. Subjects were students of class VII A SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta. Data validation is use triangulation methods.  Technical analysis  of data is technical descriptive. The result of this research showed that averagely assesses  percentage each indicator of students affective responses questionnaire on pre cycle is 66,39 %, first cycle is 76,95  %    and second cycle  is   84,01  %  (worked up 7,06  %). Meanwhile on a percentage point each indicator which is gotten from observation result students affective responses for pre cycle is 48,52%, first cycle  is  72,22 % and second cycle is 82,35 % (worked up 10,13% ). The students interview result are 97,22% students interested in implementation on Group Investigation method, 80,56% students asking question, 83,33% students respond the idea from another student, and 83,33% students find out a problem solving. The  result  showed  that  Cooperative  Learning  by  Group Investigation could increase students affective ability of class VII A SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta class year 2010/2011 in Biological learning. Key Words: Cooperative learning, Group Investigation, Students Affective Ability

Abstract

The aim of this research is to ascertain the influence of guided inquiry based joyful learning (interjoy) learning models toward science process skills of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2012/2013. This research was quasi experiment research which used posttest only nonequivalent control group design. This research applied guided inquiry based joyful learning (interjoy) learning models in experimental group and direct instruction learning models in control group.  The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2012/2013.   Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X.10 as experiment group and X.8 as control group. Data was collected using KPS test, observation sheet, and document.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. This research concluded that application of guided inquiry based joyful learning (interjoy) learning models has real influential toward science process skills of X grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. Key Words: guided inquiry based joyful learning (interjoy) learning models, science process skills

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengembangkan media pembelajaran laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada sistem ekskresi, dan 2) Mengetahui kelayakan pengembangan laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) mengacu model 4D (Four-D Model) yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan. Desain penelitian dimodifikasi menjadi 3 langkah yaitu (3-D) yang terdiri atas tahap Define (Pendefinisian), Design (Perancangan), dan Develop (Pengembangan). Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMA swasta di Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA X Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu subjek uji coba terbatas dan subjek uji coba lapangan. Subjek uji coba terbatas diambil dari kelas XI MIPA 2 dan XI MIPA 3 dengan jumlah 4 siswa setiap kelas. Subjek uji coba lapangan diambil dari kelas XI MIPA 1 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 27 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dibagi menjadi dua tahapan yaitu tahap define dengan teknik pengumpulan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan angket siswa, dan tahap develop dengan teknik pengumpulan menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi berisi simulasi praktikum virtual untuk mempermudah pemahaman siswa terkait materi ekskresi yang bersifat abstrak dan disajikan sesuai sintaks discovery learning agar siswa lebih aktif melakukan penemuan konsep secara mandiri; 2) Media laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian validator, praktisi dan siswa dengan tingkat validitas yang sangat valid.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) The difference of problem solving skill between PBL model and lectures varies in the Indonesian biodiversity material of X MIA grade of SMAN 2 Surakarta in academy year 2014/2015; (2) The difference of retention between PBL model and lectures varies in the Indonesian biodiversity material of X MIA grade of SMAN 2 Surakarta in academy year 2014/2015. This research was quasi experiment research with using postest only nonequivalent control group design. The population of the research was all student of grade X MIA of SMAN 2 Surakarta as much as five grades. The sampling technique of the research used cluster sampling, therefore the X MIA 5 grade becomes the first experimental class and the X MIA 4 grade becomes the second experimental class.  The sampling technique is taken from the test and non-test. The test is used in order to measure the problem solving skill and retention. Problem solving test used to measure the problem solving skill. Posttest and retest used to measure the retention.  Retest have done in two weeks after the posttest. Non-test is an observation sheets used to measure syntaxes occurrence, documentation is used to collect the data in order to gain the equality test. The result of the hypothesis test by the t test for the difference of problem solving skill between PBL model and lectures varies show the signification value in 0,00 (sig.<0,05) and the value of tcount is 5,654. Problem solving skill with PBL model is better than lectures varies. The signification value of the difference of retention between PBL model and the lectures varies as big as 0,00 (sig.<0,05) and the value of tcount is 5,627. Retention with PBL model is better than lectures varies. The result of the research summarizes that there is differences of problem solving skill between PBL model and the lectures varies in the Indonesian biodiversity material of X MIA grade of SMAN 2 Surakarta in academy year 2014/2015 and there is differences of retention between PBL model and lectures varies in the Indonesian biodiversity material of X MIA grade of SMAN 2 Surakarta in academy year 2014/2015.            Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, the lectures varies, problem solving skill, retention,

Abstract

This research was  aimed  to improve the students' logical thinking in XI MIA 1 of SMA Batik 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2014/2015 about reproduction system material through discovery learning application.This research was a class action research which consisted of three cycles. Each cycle contains planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research subject was the students in XI MIA 1 of SMA Batik 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2014/2015. The data source was from the mind map that cover the  logical thinking aspects. Data collecting techniques of this research used observation, interview and documentation then data validation was using triangulation method. Data analyzing technique of this research was descriptive qualitative analysis which was done in three components, they are: data reduction, data presentation and drawing the conclusion or verification. The research’ procedure used spiral mode which is interdependent. The result of the research showed that the implementation of discovery learning improves the students’ logical thinking that covers aspects of knowledge, comunication, thinking, and application. The persentage of knowledge aspect was 53,23% in pre cycle, 81,04% in first cycle , 89,11%, in second cycle, and 95,16% in third cycle . The persentage of comunication aspect was 28,33% in pre cycle, 35,08% in first cycle, 67,74% in second cycle, and 71,77% in third cycle. The persentage of thinking aspect was  28,33% in pre cycle, 58,87% in first cycle, 49,19% in second cycle, and 73,39% in third cycle. Then the persentage of knowledge aspect was  41,53% in pre cycle, 72,18% in first cycle, 79,03% in second cycle, and 77,42% in third cycle. This research’s conclusion was the implementation of discovery learning can improve the students’ logical thinking in X MIA 1 of SMA Batik 2 Surakarta academic Year 2014/2015 about reproduction system material. Keywords :discovery learning, logical thinking

Abstract

Tuban Regency is one of the areas that holds the potential of nature, this can be seen from the number of large factories established in Tuban Regency. The existence of this large factory causes changes in the surrounding environmental balance. Based on the results of observation of learning in SMA Muhammadiyah 03 Bancar class X on the subject of environmental balance is still conventional with the lecture method and discussion of this matter leads to less interesting and boring learning therefore there needs to be a development of learning models where students can engage in a social solution Namely the Group Investigation learning model (GI). The purpose of this research is to develop a model of learning by using the environment as a learning medium that is packaged in the form of video story to cultivate students' critical thinking skills. The students' critical thinking ability can be measured from aspects of identifying problems, interpreting, giving relevant ideas and drawing conclusions. This type of research is a research development, which is the development of a learning model that is very appropriate for the material of environmental balance class X semester even, the resulting draft then validated by two experts and one teacher as a user. The results showed the average validation of two experts and one user is 83.529% which indicates valid criteria and is worthy of use. From the results of small-scale test results amounted to 15 students who analyzed with the normalized gain obtained N gain> 0.7. These results indicate that there is a significant improvement in critical thinking of the students so that it can be concluded that the development of this learning model is very valid and feasible to be applied to improve critical thinking of the students.

Abstract

The Implementation of education in Higher Education must have the vision and mission to achieve a certain goal. The result of the vision and mission statement is socialized to get feedback as an evaluation and perfection of the vision and mission. The achievement of vision and mission that have been determined must be known, understood, and implemented by all academicians including students. This research was conducted to measure the level of students' understanding of the vision and mission of Biology Education Study Program of FKIP Untan. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive study. The subjects in this research were 246 students of Biology Education Study Program of FKIP Untan class of 2015, 2016, and 2017. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with closed and open statement. The results of this study indicated that in general the students have understood the vision and mission well. Data analysis showed that 236 (95,93%) students have read vision and mission, 190 (77,24%) and 204 (82,93%) students knew about vision and mission, 203 (33,44%), 101 (64%) students were the highest percentage of students who read the vision and mission in standing banner or class and in academic guidance book. Furthermore, 162 students (65.85 %) agreed that they have been well informed about the vision and mission, 165 students (67.07%) agreed that they have understood the vision and mission, 173 students (70.33%) agreed with the existence of vision and mission, and 159 students (64.63%) agreed that the vision and mission were used as references.

Abstract

This  research aims  are  to  find out:  1) the  influence  of inquiry  approach toward  student’s  achievement  in cognitive  domain;  2) the  influence  of inquiry approach toward  student’s  achievement  in affective  domain;  3) the  influence  of inquiry  approach toward  student’s  achievement  in pshycomotor domain;  4) the best approach toward student’s achievement; and 5) the  most effective approach toward student’s achievement of studying biology on X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. This research is a quasi experiment research with randomized control only design using  inquiry  approach  and conventional  approach  as  independent variables  and student’s  achievement  of study  biology  as  the  dependent  variable. Here, it is acquired three classes as the samples, there are the student’s of class X-1  as  the  control  class, student’s  of  class X-2 as  the  first  experimental  class, and student’s  of class  X-3 as  the  second experimental  class. The  population of  this research is  all of the  student’s  was  X grade  of SMA  Negeri  2 Surakarta. The sample  of  this  research was  established by  cluster random  sampling. The techniques for collecting data are by using test, questionnaire, and documentation. The data were analyzed by anova and then by scheffe test. The  conclusion of this  research are:  1)  There  is  an influence  of inquiry approach toward  student’s  achievement  in cognitive  domain;  2) There  is  no influence of inquiry approach toward student’s achievement in affective domain; 3) There  is  an  influence  of inquiry  approach toward  student’s  achievement  in pshycomotor domain; 4) Modified free inquiry is the best approach to influence the  student’s  achievement  based on  cognitive  domain, guided inquiry  approach and modified free approach are better to influence the student’s achievement  on pshycomotor domain;  and 5) The  most  effective  approach to influence  the student’s achievement is modified free inquiry. Key Words: inquiry learning approach, achievement, Biology.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student activity and learning outcomes by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the XI grade of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Veterans 1 Sukoharjo in the 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 3 cycles, each cycle including planning, implementing, observing, reflecting. Data collection techniques using 1) observations, 2) assessment tests, 3) student observation sheets and 4) documentation. The results showed that the learning activities of cycle I were 21%, cycle II 60%, and cycle III 86%. Learning outcomes show that the first cycle was 47% (11 students), second cycle was 65% (15 students), and third cycle was 83% (19 students). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the PBL model can increase learning activities and biology learning outcomes in class XI students of Veterans 1 Sukoharjo.
