Abstract

Most people in West Kalimantan rely heavily on the fields as an agricultural land. Farmers’ lacks of insight in terms of land management often cause damage to the environment. One alternative in processing agricultural land is to change the system of agricultural land by slash and burn clearing into composting, in which slash litter composting is a method where the slash was not burned but processed into compost. The use of compost from slash and burn activity has not yet tested as an alternative effort in reducing the environmental damage caused by fires. This study begins by examining the effect of slash and burn compost on  growth and production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L). Information obtained from the results was then compiled into Student Worksheet (LKS) and applied on the environmental conservation sub material in class X of one of Senior High Schools in Pontianak-West Kalimantan. The purpose of this study was to observe students response towards worksheets uses. The method used in this study was descriptive, while instrument to distinguish students response was enclosed questionnaire using a Likert scale. Results showed that students response to the use of worksheets as a means to help learning process was strong (78.4%), with average worksheets score of  82.78.Keywords: compost, environment, worksheet, conservationABSTRAKSebagian besar masyarakat Kalimantan Barat sangat mengandalkan sawah atau ladang sebagai lahan pertanian. Kurangnya wawasan petani dalam pengelolaan lahan sering menyebabkan kerusakan lingkungan. Salah satu alternatif dalam pengolahan lahan pertanian adalah mengubah metode pembukaan lahan pertanian dari tebas bakar menjadi tebas kompos. Tebas kompos merupakan metode pemanfaatan serasah hasil tebasan ketika tebasan tidak dibakar melainkan diolah menjadi kompos. Penggunaan kompos serasah hasil tebasan belum pernah diujikan sebagai alternatif upaya dalam menurunkan kerusakan lingkungan akibat pembakaran lahan. Penelitian ini diawali dengan menguji kompos serasah lahan pertanian terhadap pertumbuhan dan  produksi selada (Lactuca sativa L). Informasi yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian disusun menjadi Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) sub materi pelestarian lingkungan dan diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran di kelas X salah satu SMA di Pontianak-Kalimantan Barat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat respon siswa terhadap pemanfaatan LKS. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskripsi, sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan untuk melihat respon siswa adalah angket tertutup dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan respon siswa terhadap pemanfaatan LKS dalam membantu proses pembelajaran menunjukkan respon yang kuat sebesar 78,4% dengan rata-rata nilai pengerjaan LKS sebesar 82,78.Kata kunci: kompos, lingkungan, LKS, pelestarian

Abstract

Pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan mahasiswa adalah penting. Kemampuan berpikir kritis ini dapat dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran dengan mengedepankan pembelajaran yang bersifat kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati dan ekosistem. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester 2 tahun akademik 2013/2014. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 37 orang mahasiswa program studi pendidikan kimia yang mengambil mata kuliah biologi umum. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-postest design. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pilihan ganda dan esai, dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji rerata-perbedaan dan gain yang dinormalisasi. Hasil skor gain menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis meningkat (0,46) kategori sedang melalui model pembelajaran ini. Abstract

Salah satu faktor pendukung keberhasilan kegiatan pembelajaran adalah adanya guru. Oleh karenanya mahasiswa calon guru harus dilatihkan kemampuan Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan PCK calon guru Biologi dalam menyusun RPP pada praktik pembelajaran mikro (microteaching). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa calon guru Biologi Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Untan TA 2016/2017 yang sedang praktik microteaching berjumlah 8 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan dokumentasi RPP yang telah dibuat oleh mahasiswa calon guru biologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan PCK mahasiswa calon guru biologi dalam menyusun RPP termasuk kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata kemampuan CK sebesar 70,83% (baik), kemampuan PK sebesar 75,70% (baik), dan kemampuan PCK sebesar 66,67% (baik).Kata Kunci: pedagogical content knowledge, RPP, microteaching.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to create learning media such asmodulefrom the inventory of macroscopic mushrooms which later validated to determine the feasibility of media moduleas a in material of fungi at 10th Grade Senior High School based on results from macroscopic mushrooms inventory and to determine the types of makrofungi which were available in Gunung Rayap Kecamatan Kembayan Kabupaten Sanggau. The research was quantitative descriptive in format. Samples were taken using purposive sampling with cruising method. The results of the research found as many as 53 types of fungi from 2 divisions (Basidiomycota and Ascomycota) and 26 families. Validation module was  done by 2 lecturer FKIP Untan and 3 high school teachers around in Gunung Rayap Kecamatan Kembayan.  Based on validator assessment, media module was declared valid with  the value of each Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and CVI  vaules are valued 0,96 in number, so it could be used as learning media for mushrooms study. Keywords: Inventory,  Macroscopic Mushrooms, Module

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar melalui model direct instruction. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan memberikan tindakan pada subjek penelitian dalam dua siklus pembelajaran. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX A SMP Negeri 1 Ledo tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran serta tes hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I dan II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran direct instruction pada materi pewarisan sifat  dapat meningkatkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar 63,7 dan siklus II sebesar 72. Proses pembelajaran dari dua siklus mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 85%. Kata Kunci: direct instruction, pewarisan sifat, hasil belajar. Abstract: This study aims to determine the learning outcome model through direct instruction . This research is a classroom action research by providing research on the subject of action in two cycles of learning . Subjects in this study were students of class IX A SMP Negeri 1 Ledo academic year 2014/2015 . The data collection used observation sheet teaching practices and student achievement test cycle I and II . The results showed that the direct learning model of instruction in the material of heredity can increase the average value of learning outcomes in the first cycle of 63.7 and the second cycle of 72. The learning process of the two cycles have increased as much as 85 % Keywords: direct instruction, heredity, learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to knew the influence of quantum teaching of learning model with flash card on learning outcomes at VIII grade SMPN 3 Pontianak in the sub material transport system in living organisms. This research was using quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The population is whole of VIII SMP which consist of nine classes. The samples were VIII F (as experimental class) and VIII I (as control class). The instrument that was multiple choices consisted of 20 items. Based on the research result, the average of posttest result of experimental class was 17,09, and the control class was 11,37. At U Mann-Whitney test was Zcount < Ztable (-6,01 < -1,96) which shows that there are differences of study result between the students that taught by quantum teaching of learning model with flash card and conventional of learning model. Based on the effect size result was 1,60 with the high category, which means that quantum teaching of learning model with flash card gave influence 44,52% toward the study result in the sub material transport system in living organisms. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab miskonsepsi siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Don Bosco Sanggau pada materi evolusi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 38 siswa. Sepuluh soal pilihan ganda berbentuk three tier diberikan untuk mengetahui distribusi konsepsi siswa. Konsepsi siswa dibagi menjadi empat kategori, yaitu memahami konsep, Lack of knowledge, error, dan Miskonsepsi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata persentase konsepsi siswa untuk setiap kategori adalah memahami konsep (55%), lack of knowledge (10%), error (1,8%), dan Miskonsepsi (33,5%). Setelah diketahui miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa, peneliti melakukan wawancara untuk mengetahui penyebab miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa disebabkan faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Kata Kunci: Miskonsepsi, Evolusi, Three-tier Abstract: This study was aimed to discover 12th grade of science students’ conception in evolution in SMA Don Bosco Sanggau. The method that used in this research was a descriptive method with 38 students as the sample. Ten multiple choice questions in three-tier was given to find out the distribution of students’ conceptions. They were divided into four categories that are understanding concept, lack of knowledge¸ error, and misconception. The analysis results show that the average percentage of students’ conceptions on each category were understand concept (55%), lack of knowledge (10%), error (1.8%), and misconception (33.5%). After students’ misconceptions revealed, interview was conducted in order to figure out the causes. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbantuan flipbook terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi Virus di kelas X SMA Mujahidin Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimental design dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X MIPA 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan siswa kelas X MIPA 2 (kelas kontrol). Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbantuan flipbook sebesar 15,2 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 13,9. Dari uji U Mann Whitney dengan α= 0,05 diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbantuan flipbookdan pembelajaran konvensional. Nilai effect size diperoleh sebesar 0,79 termasuk kategori sedang dan memberikan kontribusi sebesar 28,52%. Kata kunci: NHT, flipbook, virus, hasil belajar. Abstract: The purpose of this research is to determine effectiviness of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model by using flipbooktoward study result at material virus in class X SMA Mujahidin Pontianak. The research was a quasy experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The research sample are class X MIPA 1 (experiment class) and class X MIPA 2 (control class). Average study result that had been Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model by using flipbook15,2 was higher by those using conventional teaching 13,9. The U Mann Whitney test with α= 0,05 is known that there were significant differences between study result that taught by Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model by using flipbook and conventional learning. Abstract

 Abstract This research aims to understand process science skill of students who had by using the method outdoor learning on the material biodiversity in the class ten grade science student of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. The research applied quasi-experimental method with non-equivalent control group design. Sample in this research was taken through intact group technique, where ten grade science three as the experimental class and ten grade science one as the control class. The instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions. The average value skill the process science of students at the experimental class was 16.07. Meanwhile, the average for control class was 13.67. Using U Mann-Whitney test, the research obtained -Zcount < -Ztable which was -4.29 < -1.96. This value means that there is a significant difference of skill the process science of students between students who use method outdoor learning and those who study conventionally.Keywords: Process Science skill of Students, Biodiversity, Outdoor Learning

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the process of problem-based learning and students’ responses on environmental pollution material in class X of SMA Taman Mulia Kubu Raya School Year (SY) 2016/2017. The form of study was a pre-experimental design with a one-shot case study. Research samples were 48 students of class XB and XC SMA Taman Mulia SY 2016/2017. Data were collected using observation sheet for classroom learning process and ARCS model of students’ responses questionnaire that included the response (relevance) and reaction (attention, satisfaction, and confidence) criteria. The observation data were analysed using Guttman scale while student responses using Likert scale. The research results showed that the teaching and learning process was conducted 100% in accordance with the five-stage problem-based learning model and the average students’ responses was categorized very positive with the score of 87.8%. This study also indicated that the problem-based learning model was very suitable for the teaching of environmental pollution material and giving positive students responses.Keywords: Problem-Based Learning, Student Responses, Environmental Pollution
