Abstract

The Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model is currently a concern in the world of education, especially in mathematics learning at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the PjBL model on the computational thinking skills of fourth grade students in mathematics. The research approach used is true experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two groups, namely the experimental class that received learning with the PjBL model and the control class that followed conventional learning. The results of the analysis showed a significant difference between the computational thinking skills of students in the two groups. The effect size value of 1.418 indicates that the application of the PjBL model has a major influence on improving students' computational thinking skills. Thus, the Project Based Learning model has proven effective in developing computational thinking skills at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the impact of parents' socioeconomic factors on students' learning outcomes using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The research sample consists of 20 scientific articles published between 2014 and 2024, selected through the PRISMA approach to ensure relevance. Data collection was conducted by filtering academic literature using Publish or Perish (PoP). Data validity was maintained through a rigorous selection process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was performed using thematic synthesis, categorizing findings based on economic, social, and mediating factors. The results indicate that parents' socioeconomic status significantly influences students' learning outcomes, primarily through access to educational resources, learning motivation, and parental support. Mediating factors, such as the learning environment and parenting style, also shape this relationship. This study concludes that inclusive education policies, improved educational facilities, and parental involvement can help bridge the academic gap caused by economic disparities. The recommendations include strengthening scholarship programs, providing psychological support for underprivileged students, and enhancing access to educational technology to improve students' learning outcomes equitably.Kata kunci: socioeconomic status, learning outcomes, parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the alignment between illustrative images and narrative text in the Indonesian language book "Lihatlah Sekita" from the grade 4 elementary school. This research is a type of document analysis with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research data consists of an analysis of the alignment of visual aspects in illustrative images with verbal aspects in narrative text based on Allan Paivio's dual coding theory. The data analysis technique used is the interactive description analysis model by Miles and Huberman. The results of this study show that there are high percentage of alignment between illustrative images and narrative text. The percentage of alignment between illustrative images and narrative text in the book is as follows: story 1 at 100%, story 2 at 94.12%, story 3 at 95%, story 4 at 100%, story 5 at 94.74%, story 6 at 100%, story 7 at 100%, story 8 at 100%, story 9 at 100%, story 10 at 87.5%, story 11 at 100%, story 12 at 100%, and story 13 at 100%. Essentially, the alignment between illustrative images and narrative text can influence students' comprehension of the narrative text content.

Abstract

Abstract: The application of Pancasila values is very important in shaping the character, morals, and national identity of students. Qualitative research through a case study at SDN 1 Asem, Cirebon City, shows that teachers are not only conveyors of material, but also active character builders who facilitate the internalization of Pancasila values through interactive learning methods. Key Findings Questionnaire analysis reveals that the internalization of Pancasila values among students is in the strong category with an average percentage of 74-79%, namely the indicators of Belief in God (78%), humanity (79%), unity (79%), and democracy (74%). These findings indicate the role of teachers in creating a conducive school environment through contextual and participatory mediation. The use of strategies such as discussions, collaborative projects, and role modeling helps students implement Pancasila values in their daily lives. Continuous training for teachers and the integration of Pancasila values into all learning and social activities at school are recommended for effective character education.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the correlation between parents' socioeconomic status (SES) and the academic achievement of fifth-grade students in Bahasa Indonesia at SD Negeri 9 Jambewangi, an elementary school in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all fifth-grade students. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed (SES significance: 0.187; learning outcomes: 0.068). Data analysis included linearity tests, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results revealed a weak correlation between SES and academic achievement, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.265 and a significance level of 0.340. The regression equation Y = 56.502 + 1.078X + e further indicated that SES does not significantly influence academic performance. The study concludes that while SES may have a slight tendency to affect academic outcomes, its impact is minimal. Factors such as teaching methods, student motivation, and the learning environment play a more significant role in determining academic success. Therefore, it is recommended that schools and educators focus on improving teaching quality, fostering a supportive learning environment, and enhancing student motivation to optimize academic achievement.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze learning activities that facilitate Basic Science Process Skills in students' thematic books. These skills include observing, classifying, inferring, measuring, predicting, and communicating skills. This study uses a qualitative approach. The data are in the form of student thematic books. The validity of the instrument used is the validity of the expert or Gregory and the data is validated by the theory of persistence and triangulation. Learning activities that facilitate communication appear a number of 92 items to be the most indicators. The second order is to display the data on the number of 47 items on the observing indicator. The third order with 27 items on the indicator concludes. Fourth order with 18 items on the grouping indicator. The last order with 17 items on measurement indicators and predictive indicators. There is one activity that is not facilitated by the Basic KPS in the student book, namely the manufacturing process activities obtained from the results contained in the conclusions. These considerations are based on the absence of activity content in students' thematic books. Thematic book for grade IV students, theme 2, contains sufficient and good Basic Science Process Skills.

Abstract

This classroom action research investigates the efficacy of visual media in enhancing Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning among fourth-grade s tudents at SDN Banjaran 4, Kediri. Implemented across two cycles (February 2025), the study employed animated videos (Cycle I) and culturally contextualized 3D dioramas (Cycle II) to address identified learning gaps - diagnostic tests revealed 72% of students struggled with abstract concepts. Quantitative results demonstrated significant progress, with mean scores increasing from 58.6 (pre-test) to 74.2 (Cycle I) and 82.4 (Cycle II), while observational data showed an 85% boost in engagement. Qualitative analysis revealed improved conceptual mastery and classroom participation. The large effect size (Cohen's d = 1.24) substantiates visual media's effectiveness in facilitating concrete-to-abstract knowledge transitions, particularly for learners at Piaget's concrete operational stage. These findings underscore the pedagogical value of tailored visual aids in elementary IPAS instruction.
