Abstract

Museum Wayang Kekayon Yogyakarta is one of the museums in Indonesia that boasts a wide variety of wayang (shadow puppetry) collections. Founded by Prof. Dr. dr. KPH. Soejono Prawirohadikusumo, Sp. S, Sp.Kj. (K), better known as the late Pak Soejono, this museum serves as a cultural heritage site from the past, emphasizing the importance of preserving and maintaining its collections due to their significant cultural value. Various methods are employed to ensure these collections are preserved while also serving as educational tools for future generations. One such method is the creation of the museum's E-Catalog. The primary goal of the E-Catalog collection is to identify the museum's collections. The creation of the E-Catalog Collection of Museum Wayang Kekayon specifically focuses on the type of leather puppet (wayang kulit purwa) collections. All data is gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The process of creating the collection catalog involves several steps, including preparation (related to permissions and artwork reviews), Action Work (taking photos, recording, measuring, and checking each collection), Intellectual Work (writing museum biographies and wayang descriptions), Compilation of materials and information, creation of collection catalog layout designs, and presenting the catalog collection results on the website in flipbook format. The collection catalog contains general information and descriptions of 75 wayang kulit purwa collections. These collections are classified based on wayang characters such as gunungan (mountain-shaped screen), gods, Ramayana characters, and Mahabharata characters. With the creation of this collection catalog, it serves as education for the public regarding archives and wayang, enriching cultural knowledge and appreciation.

Data obtained by interview, observation, documentation and the results of this study indicate that the marketing carried out by the 2021 FKY committee through the marketing mix has a positive impact on sales and wider reach to the creative industry for 2021 FKY. The most influential elements are product, price, promotion, and process. The elements that have not been maximized are places and people. Human resource management is the main obstacle in the process from beginning to end in the 2021 FKY. The conclusions obtained from the research show that the Sambatan program applies the 7p marketing mix elements in the implementation of the marketing process, although the elements have not been maximized and need improvement.

Abstract

The influence of digitalization has expanded the dissemination of art information through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. This enables more effective and widespread promotion of art exhibitions. Therefore, Srisasanti Gallery has adopted various promotional strategies, including collaborations with other institutions such as the Museum of Toys, to increase visitor enthusiasm for art exhibitions, as exemplified by the "Feeling Fluorescent" exhibition by Addy Debil. This research utilized a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research findings reveal that Srisasanti Gallery implemented a promotional strategy (Mahmud Machfoedz, 2010: 3-16) by segmenting the target audience, sending invitations, compiling a list of content creators, media placement, distributing exhibition posters, designing content, and planning a promotional timeline. Additionally, other promotional mix elements (Hamdani, 2006 in Sunyoto, 2015: 160-161) such as advertising, personal selling, public relations, word of mouth, and direct marketing were also effectively utilized by Srisasanti Gallery. The involvement of content creators in disseminating information about the exhibition on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram also had a significant impact in attracting a large number of visitors. The promotional strategy developed by Srisasanti Gallery not only succeeded in making the exhibition go viral on social media but also yielded positive results in terms of visitor numbers, reaching 6000 visitors during its month-long run. This success serves as evidence of the effectiveness of the promotional strategies implemented by this gallery, which may potentially serve as a model for promoting future cultural art events.
