Abstract

This study examines the function of tarekat in educating the soul by positioning tarekat as a method of spiritual formation within Islamic education. The purpose of the study is to explain the function of soul education carried out by tarekat through the perspectives of Islamic education, exact metaphysics, and Islamic Sufism. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research design. The data were analyzed through source selection, thematic classification, analytical reading, and the construction of conceptual synthesis. The findings show that tarekat functions to organize dhikr, mujahadah, muhasabah, muraqabah, adab, guidance by a mursyid, and social responsibility into a holistic process of soul education. From the perspective of Islamic education, tarekat operates as the habituation of values and the formation of moral character. From the perspective of exact metaphysics, tarekat is understood as an ordered and gradual path that connects the outward and inward dimensions of the human being. From the perspective of Islamic Sufism, tarekat becomes a means of tazkiyat al-nafs toward a soul that is tranquil, aware, and well-mannered. This study affirms that tarekat remains relevant to contemporary Islamic education as long as it is grounded in sharia, adab, chains of scholarly transmission, and moral formation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis transformasi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) melalui integrasi tradisi lokal dengan pendekatan kurikulum berbasis cinta di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Lampung. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kecenderungan pembelajaran PAI yang masih berfokus pada aspek kognitif dan belum optimal dalam menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai afektif dalam kehidupan peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, humanis, dan menyentuh dimensi emosional serta sosial siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sumber data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan kepala madrasah, guru, dan siswa, serta dokumentasi yang relevan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan uji keabsahan data melalui kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transformasi pembelajaran PAI di madrasah ini ditandai dengan perubahan pendekatan dari teacher-centered menjadi student-centered, serta dari pembelajaran yang bersifat normatif menuju pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan bermakna. Integrasi tradisi lokal seperti nilai piil pesenggiri, nemui nyimah, sakai sambayan, serta budaya gotong royong, sopan santun, dan kebersamaan dari masyarakat Lampung, Jawa, Sunda, dan Ogan, mampu menjadi media efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman. Selain itu, pendekatan kurikulum berbasis cinta menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang dialogis, humanis, dan partisipatif, sehingga siswa lebih aktif, nyaman, dan mampu menginternalisasikan nilai empati, kepedulian, dan toleransi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi tradisi lokal dalam kurikulum berbasis cinta tidak hanya memperkuat aspek afektif dalam pembelajaran PAI, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam pembentukan karakter siswa yang lebih humanis dan responsif terhadap fenomena krisis moral. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran ini relevan sebagai alternatif dalam mengembangkan pendidikan agama Islam yang kontekstual, holistik, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Advancements in science and technology have spurred the emergence of various paradigms seeking to integrate science with spiritual values. One such concept developed in Indonesia is the "metaphysics of technology" proposed by Prof. Dr. H. Kadirun Yahya. While this idea attempts to explain the interconnections between technological phenomena, metaphysical forces, and Islamic teachings, its epistemological foundation requires reconstruction based on the perspective of Qur'anic studies. This research aims to reconstruct the epistemology of Kadirun Yahya’s metaphysics of technology by positioning the Qur'an as the primary source of knowledge and elucidating the relationship between revelation, reason, and empirical experience in the development of knowledge. The study employs a qualitative method utilizing a library research approach. Data were gathered through an examination of Prof. Dr. H. Kadirun Yahya’s works, literature on Qur'anic studies, exegetical texts (tafsir), and relevant scholarly articles, followed by analysis using descriptive-analytical content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Kadirun Yahya’s epistemology of the metaphysics of technology is characterized by the integration of revelation, reason, and empirical observation; however, it requires methodological refinement to align with the principles of Qur'anic studies. The resulting reconstruction offers an integrative Qur'anic epistemological model that strengthens scientific validity, clarifies knowledge verification mechanisms, and provides a conceptual contribution to the development of Islamic studies and the dialogue between technology, science, and Qur'anic values in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Discipline is one of the main pillars of character formation that is a serious concern in the world of education, especially at the Junior High School (SMP) level where students are in their early adolescence and are vulnerable to rule violations. School rules serve as a legal and pedagogical instrument to regulate student behavior while instilling disciplinary values. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for student affairs, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, students, as well as documentation of rules, violation logbooks, and discipline development programs. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of student rules of conduct at Panca Budi Medan Middle School was carried out through three main stages: (1) the socialization stage, namely the introduction and explanation of the rules of conduct to all students at the beginning of the school year; (2) the enforcement stage, namely the application of sanctions consistently and proportionally according to the level of violation; and (3) the coaching stage, namely coaching and mentoring efforts for students who violate so that they do not repeat their violations. The rules of conduct at Panca Budi Middle School Medan cover three main areas: religious rules (congregational prayer, Al-Quran recitation, and other religious activities), academic rules (attendance, completing assignments, and taking exams), and social behavior rules (dressing, speaking, and interacting with teachers and friends).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of islamic education in shaping students character at Panca Budi Elementary School, Medan. Character education based on Islamic values serves as an essential foundation for developing a generation that is not only intellectually competent but also spiritually, emotionally, and socially mature. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interview with the principal, Islamic Education (PAI) teachers, classroom teachers, and students, as well as documentation of religious activities conducted at the school. The findings indicate that the implementation of Islamic education at Panca Budi Elementary School, Medan, is carried out through two main strategies: (1) the habituation of religious practies, including daily obligatory prayers, Dhuha prayer, congregational prayer, and Qur’an recitation (tadarus); and (2) consistent role modeling (uswah hasanah) demonstrated by teachers and school staff through exemplary Islamic behavior. Supporting factors include the strong commitment of the school management and foundation, active parental support, and adequate educational facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include differences in students religious understanding at home and the influence pof the digital social environment outside the school. This study recommends strengthening collaboration among Islamic Education teachers, classroom teachers, and parents, as well as developing more measurable and sustainable methods for character evaluation.
