Abstract

Nowdays, consumption ofchilli saucein societycontinues to increase. However,there are manymanufacturers thatproduce chili saucenot under the good standard,so it candamage the healthof consumers. This happensbecause themanufacturers are tryingto meetthe market demandwantingchilisauceat a low price, so thatnot a fewmanufacturers whoignorestandards andfood safetyby adding. One of thehazard materialsaresynthetic dyesinchillisauceprocessing. Henceit is necessary toseek alternativenaturaldyesarerelativelysafe. Onenatural reddyethat can beused isRosella. bright red colorofthepetalsRosellaallure. However, the efficacy andthe benefits thatthe target of theconsumer. The type of this research is experiment. The objective of this research is to know the acceptable of chilli saucewith the addition of freshrosellaand chilli saucewith the additiondriedrosella. The variation of the addition are 10%, 20% and 30%. Acceptability test chilli saucerosellais conducted by using hedonic test to 30 panelists. Data wereanalyzed by using barlett test and analysis of variance test. These results showed that the addition 10% fresh rosella results in the most favorite taste by the panelist. While thechilisaucewiththe addition 10% dried rosella is the most favorite with color categoriy. The addition of rosella with many varieties influence the taste and color of chili sauce significantly. There is no influencing of the addition of rosella on the flavor and texture of chili sauce It is suggestedthatpeople use the rosella as analternative materialnatural dyein the manufacturesauces. Abstract

Noodle is one of the most popular types of food in the community. Currently, the noodle was made as a replacement food of other staple foods such as rice. Generally, raw material of noodle is flour. However, the flour can also be modified with other foods such as tempe and red sweet potato. The purpose of  this research is to know the comparative influence of wheat flour, tempe and red sweet potato. This research is an experimental study which is designed by a random draft  with two factors namely red sweet potato and tempe by comparison (30% : 20%, 25% : 25%, 20% : 30%). The influence of addition  tempe and  red sweet potato were analyzed with anova test and double Duncan test. The parameters analyzed  include the lucrative nature of the organoleptic color, aroma, taste and texture of wet noodle. The results showed that the organoleptic test colors, aromas, and flavors of the most preferred wet noodle is noodles tempe with the addition of 20%, and red sweet potato 30% while the wet noodle texture is the most preferred panelist is wet noodle tempe with the addition of 25% and 25% red sweet potato. Based on the analysis of anova (α=5%), The addition of tempe and red sweet potato with different concentration on the creation of a wet noodle gave different effects to the color, aroma and flavor. But didn’t give a different affect on the texture of a wet noodle. Keywords : wet noodle, tempe, red sweet potato, organoleptic test

Abstract

Febrile convulsion is the commonest neurologis disorder in infant and child. Two to five percent of children in the world  have a febrile convulsion when ≤5 years old. More than 90% occur when <5 years old. The highest incidence occur when two years first life of children. To determine the characteristic of children ≤5 years old with febrile convulsion  were hospitalized in RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan in 2010-2011 with research descriptive case series design. Population and sample numbered 110  person (total sampling). Data obtained from medical records, analyze data using Chi-square, T-test and ANOVA. The results obtained that the children ≤ 5 years with febrile convulsion the highest proportion in age group 1-3 years are 57,3%; male 57,3% with sex ratio 1,3:1; normal weight birth 94,6%; good nutrition status 85,5%; febrile convulsion history  38,0%; fever of febrile convulsion with temperature >38⁰C - 39⁰C 40,9%; had tonsilopharynxitis 37,1%; simple febrile seizure 59,1%; medicine and lab 81,8%; the average threatment time was 4 days; own expense 59,1%; heal patients 50%; there was difference in the average treatment time based on the state of coming home (p=0,000). Suggested there are education for children under five’s mother in order can prevent her children from febrile convulsion when fever, and for mother who have children with febrile convulsion history in order can prevent febrile convulsion reccurence with way giving antipyretic and anticonvulsion to her children when start fever. Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is one of the public health problem in developed countries and developing countries. In 2005 it repoted that there were 210 million COPD in the world. While from Household Health Survey in 2001, COPD was the third from ten disease which potentially caused death in Indonesia. This study was descriptive research with case series design to know the characteristic of COPD patient in RS Martha Friska Medan in 2010-2011. The population and sample were 167 COPD patient data who had been hospitalized in RS Martha Friska in 2010-2011 (total sampling). The highest proportion of the patient with COPD was at age 65-73 years old 35,3% for male 29,3% and female 6%, Bataknes ethnic 52,1%, Moeslim 55,1%, Senior High School 58,1%, civil servant/army/retired 63,4%, from Medan 86,2%, Asthma Bronchial as disease history 67,7%, smoke history 87,5%, cough 91%, average length of stay 8,24 days, expense from Askes 63,4%, becoming out patient 80,8% and CFR=12,6%. There was no significant difference between proportion of the age group with smoke history (p=0,499), sex with smoke history (p=0,504) and sex with disease history (p=0,245). The proportion of COPD patient with asthma bronchialis disease history who had smoked was significantly higher than COPD patient who had not smoked (X2=7,897 ; p=0,005 ; 100% vs 0%). Average length of stay patient who used their own cost were significantly difference for using Jamkesmas, Company and Askes (p=0,003 ; 5,47 days vs 7,25 days ; 5,47 days vs 8,38 days ; 5,47 days vs 9,19 days). It is expected for the party of RS Martha Friska Medan to complete the data note for disease history, smoke history and COPD grade on the medical record and for the government through the department of health, department of social and department of education give the information about the danger of smoking and reduce smoking room. Abstract

Fibroadenoma mammae is a benign tumors which are mainly found in young women. Prevalence of fibroadenoma occurred in more than 9% of the female population. There are 103 cases in Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan during 2007-2011. To know the characteristics of fibroadenoma mammae patients who are hospitalized in Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan descriptive study has been done by using case series design. The population and sample were 103 data patients (total sampling). Data was analyzed by using test of chi square and t- test. Proportion based on sosiodemography, highest age £ 35 years old 72,8%, Batak ethnic 77,7%, Protestant religion 55,4%, student 30,1%, not married 61,2%, lives in Medan 68%. Lies in the right breast 39,8%, the size of fibroadenoma £ 5 cm 82,7%, one fibrodenoma 55,3%, physical examination and radiological 54,4%, operation 98,1%, average length of stay 4,01 days, discharged under medical treatment 96,1%. There were significant differences between age and marital status (p=0.000), age with location of FAM (p=0,005), age with number of FAM (p=0.000) and  the location of FAM with number of FAM (p = 0.000). There were no significant difference between marital status with the location of FAM (p=0.467), marital status with the number of FAM (p = 0.244), treatment time based on the average during medical treatment (p=0,599), and treatment time based on the average during the home state (p=0,452). Suggested at the hospital to complete the recording of the status of the card especially in relation to the fibroadenoma mammae such as education, body mass index, history of contraceptive, parity, family history, type of fibroadenoma and history of nursing. Abstract

Typhus abdominalis is one of the communicable diseases related to the environment which do not up to standart of health. Based on WHO (2003) there are 17 million Typhus abdominalis cases with CFR of 3,5%. On 2010 at the F.L. Tobing Sibolga Hospital proportion Typhus abdominalis sufferer is 1,5%, on 2011 is 2,1% and 2012 as of July the proportion is 2,9%. The population in this research are 358 sufferer were taken by purposive random sampling with criteria have Widal Test laboratory are 181. For analyzing, it is used chi-square and t-test. The results obtained that the highest sociodemographic proportion are age 1-10 years old 59.1%, men 55.8%, 42.3% not attending school, not working 42.5%, unmarried 86.7%, and the city came Sibolga 58.6%.The highest proportion of Typhus abdominalis sufferer with 100% fever symptoms,89.5% without complications, 36.8% respiratory complications, average of length stay 3.73 days, 84.0% discharge with outpatient treatment, 54.1% not expense by self, O titer (=1/160) 54.7%, H titer (=1/320) 37.6%. There is no significant difference between the proportion of ages, sexes,the average treatment time, O titer, H titer based on the status of complications. There are significant differences between the average treatment time based on the source cost. There is no significant difference between coming home condition based sourcing costs.Expected to the hospital to give information to the people who have recovered for further examination once a month and maintain personal hygiene and the environment. Abstract

Malnutrition is a disorder caused by a deficiency or imbalance of nutrients needed for growth and development. Basic Health Research reported that prevalence rate of children with overweight is 4,2%, good nutrition status is 72,1%, mild nutrition status is 16,6%, and severe nutrition status is 7,1%. The purpose of this study is to determine factors related to nutritional status children under five years old in Teluk Rumbia Village, Singkil Sub-District, Aceh Singkil in 2012. This study is a descriptive study with Cross Sectional Design.  The population is all children under five year old specifically ranged from 12 to 59 months in Teluk Rumbia Village totaling 106 samples. The sampling technique is total sampling totaling 106 children under five. The results of study found that prevalence rate of children under five who good nutrition status is 69.8%, mild nutrition status is 27.4%, and severe nutrition status is 2.8%. Further, the majority of children under five is  male (60.4%), age range from 12 to 35 months (66%), no exclusive breastfeeding (67, 9 %), complete immunization (59,4%), low education of mother (92,5%), lack of knowledge (55,7%), unemployed mother (90,6%), number of child more than 2 children (68,9%), having a history of infection disease (55,7%), having no a history of upper respiratory infection (73.6%) and getting good health service (80,2%). Results of bivariate analysis consists of six variables that have a significant correlation with malnutrition among children under five are exclusive breastfeeding (p=0,005, RP=3,306), immunization (p=0,010, RP=2,141), knowledge of mother (p=0,027, RP=2,063), history of infection disease (p=0,027, RP=2,036), history of upper respiratory infection(p=0,029, RP=1,906), and history of diarrhea (p=0,000, RP=2,973). Thus, it is recommended to the relevant institutions to increase health education programs in order to increase knowledge and awareness of mothers who have children under five about health of their children. Abstract

Tea has a lot of the nutrients for body such as polyphenols, tannins, vitamins and minerals, but the function of tannins in tea can be a barrier to the absorption of iron when tea is consumed at meals. If the absorbtion of iron is impared and a little iron consumption, the body will have iron deficiency can lead to low hemoglobin levels or anemia. The purpose of this study is to determine the behavior of drinking tea and hemoglobin (Hb) levels of students in Vocational High School 1 Jorlang Hataran Marlawan Dolok village. This research is descriptive study. The population of this study were the students of class X, XI and XII The Vocational High School 1 Jorlang Hataran Marlawan Dolok village. Samples were taken 80 people with simple random technique. The data was collected using questionnaires with the form of 24-hour food recall. Results showed that behavior about tea and hemoglobin levels of students in The Vocational High School 1 Jorlang Hataran Marlawan Dolok village almost entirely at the level of moderate tea consumption was 73.80% and the rate of 23.70% by weight of tea consumption, with hemoglobin levels also largely normal and anemic as much as 83.05% in moderate tea consumption and 63.16% by weight of tea consumption. Based on the results of this study suggested to the students in The Vocational High School 1 Jorlang Hataran Marlawan Dolok village to reduce the consumption of tea, especially when in conjunction with eating and increased nutrient intake by choosing foods that are more diverse. keywords: tea consumptions, hemoglobin levels, vocational students

Abstract

A mother who has get married early can be difficult to understand the nutrition problem especially to fullfill the nutrition of under five years old. This research studied a behavior early married women in fullfill the nutrition of under five years old at Village of Pulau Mungkur, subdistrict of Gunung Toar, Regency of Kuantan Singingi, Province of Riau in 2012. This research was a descriptive studied by cross sectional design. The population were early married women had under five years old for 45 people and then to be total sampling. The data was collected by interview using questionnaire, food frequency and food recall form. The result of research show that the behavior about the fulfillment of nutrition for under five years old that classified into less good category. Energy and protein consumption of under five years old was medium category. Generally, the under five years old consumes food three time a day. The nutrition status of under five years old be based on the weight for age, height for age and weight for height is classified into normal category. It is necessary to provide the early married woman and under five years old with exstension about food, nutrition and healthy by the posyandu cadre in order to increase the behavior of mother in fullfill the nutrition need of under five years old and the role of extension about crops food in anticipate the vacant land by the departement of agriculture in order to increase food security of family. Abstract

To obtain an  optimal growth, the under five years old need the adequate, nutritious and balanced amount of food. The research was to find out the food pattern and nutritional status of under five years old in the watershed and trandas areas in the working area of Singkil health center. This purpose of this descriptive study with cross-sectional design. Total population of the study is 599 under five years old and the sample are 100 under five years old. The results of this study showed that most of the food patterns of under five years old was three times a day, the main food consumed by under five years old in the watershed and trandas was rice amounted 100,0%, the side dish most frequently consumed was fish 92,5% in the watershed and 92,7% in trandas, the vegetables mostly consumed in the watershed was kale 17,5% and in trandas was spinach 15,0%, and only small numbers of the under five years old consumed  fruits, namely banana 10,0% in the watershed and 13,3% in trandas. The food pattern of under five years old the medium category, the level of energy consumption was 72,5% in the watershed and  75,0% in trandas, while the level of protein consumption was 65,0% in the watershed and 80,0% in trandas. Based on the index (weight/height) most of the nutritional status of under five years old was in normal category 87,5% in the watershed  and 91,7% in trandas.     Keywords:  food pattern, nutritional status, under five years old, in the watershed and Trandas
