Abstract

The pattern of food consumption is a factor that has a direct impact to the nutritional status of under five children. The purpose of this research is to know the description the food comsumption pattern during the harvest and the planting seasons and nutritional status of under five children in the Lau Gunung. This research is descriptive with cross secsional design.  Taking the sampel by total sampling of 64 under five children. The results of the research showed in the planting season that energy intake was categorized good 48.4%, moderate 28.1%, low 18.8%, deficit 4,7% and when during harvest time energy intake was good categorized 68.8%, moderate 25.0%, less 6.3%. Meanwhile, intake of proteins when post harvest good category 32.8, moderate, 40.6%, less 20.3%, deficit 6.3% and when during harvest time good category 78.1%, moderate 18.8% and less 3,1%. Nutritional status for the under five children in the planting and during harvest seasons accoding by index weight for age is 78.1% and 85.9%, accoding by index height for age is 84,4% and 84,4% and accoding by index weight for height is 73.4% and 87.5%, mostly in normal category. The recommended that to the housewife noticed provision in accordance with the pattern of food menu balanced diet and to the local healthcare providers to more focus for counseling on nutrition balanced the mothers with the under five children to improving the pattern of food consumption and nutrional status of under five children.   Keywords: Alpha food pattern consumption, nutritional status, under five children, the planting, harvest

Abstract

Diet given to patient lung tuberculosis is diet high calories high protein (HCHP). Diet high calories high protein given after diagnosis patient upheld. Diet high calories high protein was that contain energy and protein above the needs of the normal. Component nutrition of the major diet is energy, proteins, fat and carbohydrates. Component nutrition diet is very important to buttress healing process on the patient lung tuberculosis. The purpose of this study is food in the form diet High Calories High Protein (HCHP) patients treated in the Lung Tuberculosis Hospital Martha Friska Pulo Brayan. This research design is descriptive research account with design cross sectional of dietary by the department of nutrition Hospital Martha Friska Pulo Brayan. There was a 15 sample diet by the criteria High Calories High Protein I (HCHP I) diet. The research results showed that avaibility of nutritive substance, diet the content of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates are not meet the standards on diet high colories high protein (HCHP). It is caused by the absence of standards, the portion standards recipes and standards of tool used. Energy requirement of 39%-67%, protein requirement of 39%-68%, fat requirement of 51%-80% and carbohydrate requirement of 25%-71% of standards. Abstract

Obesity is a condition of excess body weight due to buried fat, due to the input  calories. In addition, the nutritional behavior also contribute to an increase in body weight. Obesity can impact on workers reduced worker productivity and can also lead to degenerative diseases. This study aims to determine the nutritional behavior of obese in tobacco plantation PTPN II Kelambir V Medan 2012. Type of this research is descriptive research designs, to get an overview of food consumption patterns, physical activity and nutritional status of workers experiencing obesity in gambang (sorting tobacco) tobacco  plantation kelambir V PTPN-II. The population of the research was that obese workers gambang (sorting tobacco) as many as 25 people. The samples were taken as many as 25 people with total sampling. Data collection is done with the interview using the food recall 24-hour, food frequency form and measurement of body weight and body height. The results showed that the nutritional behavior of workers based on the frequency of eating. The vegetables are sweet leaves, the type of drink is sweet tea, and for this type of fruit is a banana fruit consumed ≤ 3 x a week. The adequacy of the level of energy in the high category 64,00 % and total consumption proteins included in the category of very high 84,00%. Workers should the obese to gambang (sorting tobacco) pay more attention to the nutritional behavior, as well as the expected extension of a nutritional officer or from the clinic. Abstract

Asthma Bronchial as a chronic respiratory disease. This disease which can happen in all of age. Based on data from RISKESDA 2007 asthma prevalence in Indonesia by 3,5% and the prevalence of diagnosis by health workers was 1,9%. To know characteristic of patients asthma bronchial hospitalizations in Langsa general hospitals 2009-2012. A descriptive study by using  case series design and data analysis by using Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney. Populations and samples in this study are all data of patient asthma bronchial hospitalizations in langsa general hospitals. Sampling with inclusion criteria, patient with asthma bronchial aged ≥14 years had complete  data recorded on the card status of patients treated in the first year. The highest proportion of patiens asthma  bronchial sufferers in the proportion of female (66,7%, Acehnese (68,6%), Muslem (100%), Occupation housewife (44,8%), Marital status is married (81,6%), Derived from Langsa (58,2%), Old of maintainability average  4,5 days (5 days), home with  outpatient care (88,1%), Instead of using their own expense (87,1%). The results obtained with Chi-Square test p>0,05 (p=0,059), there was no differences significant between age with sex. Mann-Whitney test p<0,05 ( p=0,000), meaning that there is a significant difference between the average maintainability length with the state when go home. Mann-Whitney test p>0,05 ( p=0,126), meaning that there is no significant difference between the average treatment time with the source charge. Chi-Square test p>0,05 (p=0,0815), there is no differences significant between the staet when go home with areas of origin. Keywords: Bronchial Asthma, characteristics, Langsa General Hospital

Abstract

Traffic accidents is the most common cause of injury in the whole world. According to WHO (2008) traffic accident is the tenth leading cause of death in the world with 1.21 million deaths (2.1%). Head injury is the most common disease caused by traffic accidents than other injuries. In Indonesia, the head injury was ranked first in the order of the injury suffered by the victims of traffic accidents (33.2%). According to data Riskesdas (2007) there are 18.9% of traffic accident victims with head injuries. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of patients with head injury due to traffic accidents inpatients in RSUD Dr. H. Kumpulan Pane Tebing Tinggi in 2010-2011, a descriptive case series design. Population and sample is 114 patients (total sampling). Patients with head injuries due to traffic accidents with the highest proportion in the age group 16-24 years (39.5%), male (67.5%), student (32.5%), two-wheeled vehicle (66.3%), at 18.01-24.00 (33.3%), on Monday (21,9%), mild head injury (74.6%), the average treatment time 3.97 days, outpatient home care (51.8%), and own costs (52.6%). Highest CFR in 2010 (3,8%), four-wheeled or more vehicle (5,3%), at 18.01-24.00 (5,3%), and severe head injury (30%). There are significant differences in the average treatment time with the source charge (p = 0.001), average treatment time with the situation when returning (p = 0.001). Suggested to the hospital Dr. H. Kumpulan Pane Tebing Tinggi set to be complete recording of medical records, to the police in order to provide education to school/college regarding traffic rules, and the public to be careful when driving a vehicle and using standard helmets for two-wheeled riders. Abstract

Food diversification instead of rice is necessary for food security and food quality. Pumpkin and sweet corn can be an alternative to accompanying rice for the food security and food quality. This was an experimental study on rice processing by adding pumpkin and sweet corn in different proportion (5:3:2, 5:2:3, and 5:2,5:2,5). This study was aimed to determine the acceptability of color, flavor, taste, and texture which were tested by hedonic test and its nutrient composition. The result of this research showed that by organoleptic test, rice with the addition of pumpkin and sweet corn which made with 5:3:2 proportion was the most favored by the panelists. Based on analysis of variance, the addition of pumpkin and sweet corn in different proportion influenced different variety of taste, flavor, color, and texture. The addition of pumpkin and sweet corn on rice cooking increased the content of protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin A, vitamin B1, and vitamin C. Consumption of one serving of A1 rice with addition pumpkin and sweet corn contributes 26,8% adequacy of vitamin A and 40,0% adequacy of vitamin C in 7-9 years old children. It is suggested for consumer to make rice with addition of pumpkin and sweet corn as an alternative food for reduce the consumption of rice. It is necessary to do other foods diversification by added pumpkin and sweet corn as a food which is rich in nutrient content. Abstract

Hypertension is one of the degenerative disease a public health problem in the world because hypertension often appears without symptoms. In Indonesia, patient of hypertension pursuant to Researching Into Health of Base ( Riskesdas) 2007 hypertension prevalensi in Indonesia very high, namely reach 31,7% from totalizeing the amount of adult resident. higher Hypertension Prevalence in Indonesia in comparison with tired Singapore 27,3%, Thailand by 22,7% and tired Malaysia 20%. But so many one who do not know and realize that x'self suffer hypertension. To know characteristic of patient of taken care of hypertension lodge in RSUD Town of Padangsidimpuan, have been conducted by research have the character of descriptive with series case desain continued with analysis of statistic. Population and of sampel amount to 165 patient of hypertension take care of to lodge. From the record data, the result obtained of proportion patient of highest woman in the  age group 57-64 year ( 15.2%), Islam ( 77.6%), SLTA ( 40%), officer of private sector ( 39.4%), married ( 69.7%), Town of Padangsidimpuan ( 92.7%), headache ( dizzy, confused ) and weaken ( 35.8%), degree of hypertension 3 ( 45.4%), without comorbidity ( 72.1%), stroke ( 60.9%), average length of stay 4.07 days, medically discharged and becoming out patient ( 72.7%), there is no significant difference between age with the degree of hypertension ( p=0,078), there is significant difference between especial sigh with the degree of hypertension ( p=0,000), there is significant difference between average length of stay with the degree of hypertension ( p=0,000), there is significant difference between degree of hypertension with the desease comorbidity (p=0,000), there is significant difference between degree of hypertension with the situation of time went home ( p=0,003) Keywords : hypertension, patient characteristic, General Hospital Area Town of Padangsidimpuan

Abstract

Fruit and vegetable is one of the sources of the fiber consumed by fishermen. Consumption of fruit and vegetable by fishermen supplied  by company. PT. Usaha Jaya, PT. Maju Jaya and PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya are the company move in areas of fish catcher.This research is a descriptive study with cross-sectional design. The sample is  all population. The results of research show that type fruit in general consumed the fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya and PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya  is papaya fruit (66,7% and 28,3%) while fishermen at PT. Maju Jaya is banana fruit (66,7%). And for type vegetables in general consumed the fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya is cucumber, cabbage and pumpkin (33,3%) while fishermen at PT. Maju Jaya is eggplant (33,3%) and  fishermen at PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya is cabbage (50,0%).  Amount of fruit and vegetables consumption the fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya, PT. Maju Jaya and PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya less than 300 gram and 200 gram  a day (100,0%). Frequency consumption of fruit and vegetables the fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya 4-6 a week (100,0%), while fishermen at PT. Maju Jaya and PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya 1-3 a week. Average fiber consumption by fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya, PT. Maju Jaya and PT. Usaha Keramat Jaya from fruit and vegetable  (2,9 gram, 3,0 gram and 3,1 gram) and for  average contribution of fruit and vegetable  fishermen at PT. Usaha Jaya, PT. Maju Jaya and PT. Abstract

Areca catechu is a plant that belongs to coconut family. The people of Toba Batak use the  fruit as one  meal for friends or quests, as the substitution of the cigarette for men. For children, the fruit of areca catechu is used as the substitution for candy. This research is intended to know the description of the consumption of the fruit of areca catechu, the occurrence of suffering worms,  and nutritional status of Elementary School 175750 in Pardamean Nainggolan village, Pahae Jae  district, North Tapanuli regency in 2013. This was descriptive research with cross-sectional design.  The sample of research was 58 students consisting of class 4 and class 6 who consumed  the fruit of areca catechu and who did not consume the fruit of areca catechu. The results of research showed 91.4% of the students in Pardamean Nainggolan village consumed the fruit of areca catechu and mostly of them consumed with the frequency once or twice in a day and quantity of consumption mostly 1- 3 fruit in a day, who mostly consumed during the day. From  the  result of helminthiasis checking, 94.8% the students of Elementary School classified negative and 5.2% classified positive. Mostly of student consumed energy and protein in worse deficit level, that was each for 86.2% and 53.4% respectively. The description on the nutritional status of Elementary School based on H/A as normal 67,2%, short 31% and very short 1,7% and based on BMI/A 84.5% as normal 84,5% and thin 6,9%. It is suggested for the health center to give guidance and counseling about the consumption of the fruit of areca catechu. In addition, there should be the control for suffering  worms and socialization about General Guide of Balanced Nutrient. Hemoglobin test should be conducted for the students of Elementary School 175750 Pardamaen Nainggolan village. Abstract

Tempeh burger is one of an innovative product of burgers, which has high phyto-protein. Most of people know that tempeh only made from soybean, but the other legume such as mung bean and red kidney bean can also be processed into tempeh because they almost have the similar nutrient composition with soybean. This was an experimental study that aims to determine the nutrient composition and the acceptable of patty with the difference of tempeh ingredients, such as soybean, mung bean, and red kidney bean. Based on laboratory test at the Laboratory of Nutrition FKM and Food Technology Laboratory FP USU, showed that the soybean tempeh patty has highest content of energy, fat, and carbohydrate; while the highest content of protein and ash belongs to the mung bean tempeh patty. Based on the organoleptic test by 30 students of FKM USU as a panelist, showed that the soybean tempeh patty was the most preferred. With Anova Test, the difference of tempeh for making the tempeh patty was only influenced different variety of color, aroma, and texture, but not for the taste. It’s recommended that consumer, especially those who like burgers but limiting meat consumption, make tempeh burger as their alternative snack. The mung bean tempeh patty was the best choice for young people who are still in their growth stage, because it had highest content of protein and ash. It is also need to do the further study to eliminate unpleasant contained in mung bean and red kidney bean tempeh patty. Keywords: Tempeh Patty, Nutrient Composition, Acceptability
