Abstract

Abstract

Promoting Occupational Health and Safety among workers, employers, and the community is essential for the company. This is considered important because. Health and Safety Promotion with the main goal pursued labor to fix the safe behavior while working. The purpose of this study is to find out what the relationship between the promotion of Health and Safety with safe behavior on the production employees of palm oil processing PTPN IV Kebun Dolok Ilir. This study is a cross sectional analytic design, the samples are 44 people (random sampling). Analysis of the data used univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results showed most workers ≥ 48 years were 26 persons (59.1%), high school education last at most 30 people (68.2%), the most widely tenure ≥ 17 years for a total of 35 persons (79.5 %), and the majority of employees working in the unit boiler station 7 people (15.9%). Univariate test results obtained by the application of Health and Safety Promotion, namely training and the Health and Safety months activities the majority of respondents said it was bad to the percentage of training as many as 28 people (63.6%) and health and safety months activities as many as 41 people (93.2%) while health and safety signs, monitoring, and health and safety communication majority of respondents expressed either by the percentage of each, health and safety month activities as many as 43 people (97.7%), supervision of as many as 43 people (97.7%), health and safety communication as many as 40 people (90.9%). The results of the chi square test showed there is significant relationship between of health and safety promotion (training and health and safety month activities) with safe behavior with each of p value of 0.007 and 0.034. Suggestions for companies to increase Health and Safety Promotion particularly thorough training specifically to the processing of production employees and involve them in every health and safety months activities to create safe behavior at work. Abstract

Water is a basic need for life, especially for the human being who during his life always require water. The water used is not always in accordance with the terms of health because the water is often containing germs or certain substances that can cause illness and even endanger human survive. This study was descriptive survey method. The population in this study were 105 heads of households and the samples were 51 householders. Samples were taken by using a sytematic random sampling technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the visibility of water supply from springs in Dusun III Lancang Desa Pegagan Julu III Kecamatan Sumbul Kabupaten Dairi. Based on the research results, the existing water source in Desa Pegagan Julu III met the physical and chemical quality (pH, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Al), quantity and continuity requirements as a source of clean water. The level of respondent knowledge about clean water and water supply was categorized as moderate (78%). The participation form of community in the construction of water supply were their time (82%), skill (72%) and fund (100%). Stakeholders support the development of water suplly as the availability of clean water sources, the potential of natural resources and  community support for construction of clean water supply. Therefore we need an active role of health provider to give health promotion about clean water supply in order to improve the knowledge of community to clean water and clean water supply. In addition, it is expected the participation of  stakeholders and the community in cooperation with the private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and the organizer PNPM so that the clean water supply in Dusun  Lancang III can be realized.

Abstract

Work environment monitoring program is a part of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) aimed to help materialize of the maintenance of good employees, so that they are aware of the significance about the implementation of health and safety program for themselves and the company. The applied work environment monitoring program be expected be able to prevent the workers from accidents and occupational diseases. In this study the problems are how does to review the implementation of work environment monitoring programs of chemical and physical at PT. Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia Duri Riau in 2014. The kind of research used in this study is a qualitative approach in order to obtain in-depth information about work environment monitoring program of chemical and physical at PT. Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia Duri Riau. The primary data were obtained by data collection techniques of in-depth interview. The informants for this study there were 4 peoples, namely Site Manager, Supervisor Maintenances, Supervisor Operations, and HSE. From this results be able seen that work environment monitoring program had been carried out each day by PT. Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia Duri Riau at Central Gas Turbine Area. Monitoring of physical work environment by conducting temperature measurement, noise, and radiation. As for monitoring of chemical work environment based on the MSDS. But there are some workers who do not obey with safety rules in the works. The quality of the implementation work environment monitoring program chemical and physical at PT. Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia Duri Riau maintened and further enhanced, in order to create safe work environment. It also needs to be enhanced awareness for workers about the importance of health and safety in the work. Abstract

Clean water is a basic need that must be met by a human because clean water is used for various purposes including as drinking water. The source of clean water which is mostly used by society is dug well. Dug wells is easily contaminated by bacterial from the source of pollution. It can cause the disease like diarrhea. For get clean water that meets health requirements it must avoid from the risk factors of pollution that can be at risk of water quality of dug well. The purpose of this research was to know correlation between the risk factors of pollution and the quality of bacterial water of dug with the incidence of diarrhea in Village Hutabaringin District Kotanopan Regency of Mandailing Natal. This research used the analytic with cross-sectional design. With taking sample by random sampling (simple random sampling ) is a random number table system with a sample of 55 households. This population is all households in the village have dug well Hutabaringin Kotanopan the District, totaling 121 households. Data were analyzed using chi-square test. The results showed that most households have dug wells which have a high pollution risk factors is 54,5% , low is 45,5. The number of households that have water quality that meets the health requirements is 38,2% and which do not meet the health requirements is 61,8%. Diarrhea happened in every family member is 61,8% and who did not diarrhea happened is 38,2%. Based on the results of research by chi-square test p = 0.025 ( p < 0.05 ) it can be concluded that correlation the are pollution risk factors with diarrhea happened and p = 0.009 (p < 0.05) correlation the are water quality dug well with diarrhea happened. It is recommended to the public in order to better maintain the quality of well water as a source of clean water and basic sanitation especially pay attention to clean water and personal hygiene. Puskesmas should be made the socialization to the society within programs in water supply and environment health. Keywords : Risk factors of pollution, the quality of bacteriological water, diarrhea

Abstract

Sanitation management of the linen is one special sanitation efforts at the hospital because it has sharp attention on the activities or processes because of its distinctive properties and can cause hazard/risk high for officers, hospital visitors and patients. Many of the problems that will probably arise from nosocomial infections, among others, when health workers who suffer from infections due to certain pathogenic microorganisms, it is because the health care personnel with direct patient contact, because linen is the object that engaged directly with patients and the management of the linen is not good will give negative impact to the hospital The present study  is  a descriptive survey with the object  includes  the operation of sanitation linen of  Martha Friska Hospital Medan and 10persons  of  loundry as the respondent by using direct observation for the  object of the study and  direct interview  with the informant. The objective of the study  is to know the  facility and infrastructure of  laundry sanitation, characteristics  (age, duration of service on job,  education level,  participation in  training and  knowledge)  and  analysis of  the solid  waste treatment of  Martha Friska hospital  Medan in 2014. The result of the study  showed that the score of all variables is of 70%. It  indicates that  in fact, the operation of  laundry sanitation of Martha Friska hospital Medan was still not adjusted to the requirements of  laundry sanitation according to Kepmenkes RI  with the minimal standard of ≥ 80%. The conclusion of the study is that  the operation of the solid waste treatment  of hospital is still not adjusted to the Kepmenkes RI , including the inadequate facility and infrastructure. For that reason,  it is  expected that  all the laundry installation of Martha Friska hospital to more increase in  the supportive facility by supplying the more  complete facility and infrastructure to the laundry  that they use  the complete self-protective tool Keywords: Analysis, Operation, Treatment, Sanitation, loundry

Abstract

Occupational accidents are generally caused by two factors that occur in the workplace. The factors that cause accidents include unsafe action and unsafe condition. Estimated that 80% accidents are caused by unsafe action of workers as a problem often faced by firm. This study aims to determine the factors associated with unsafe action on Field Workers of PT. Telkom Cabang Sidikalang Kabupaten Dairi in 2014. The study was an analytic study which using cross sectional study design which use sampling method by total sampling with a sample size 25 people.Data were analyzed using bivariate chi-square tes. The result of this study showed that of the six independent variables under study, there are four variables that have relationship with the dependent variable, namely: age (p = 0,032), years of service (p = 0,015), employee status (p = 0,012, and knowledge (p = 0,032. This study suggested to the campany that works aged ≥ 28 years given a retraining and routine briefing of safety action , more attention to workers who are not permanent employee status and who has a new working period (<5 years) in efective supervision, providing educations and training for workersto make them knowledge well.   Key Word : The Factors Associated, Unsafe Action

Abstract

The management on a hospital’s environmental should be done in integrated administration controlling all the environmental hospital it. To maintain the hospital’s environment for not properly shall contribute cause an nosocomial infection with many cases resulted in human death. This condition assure how necessary to conduct an analytical research in managing the environmental of hospital with the purpose to prevent any nosokomial infected as held on Martha Friska Hospital of Medan for 2014. The objective of this study is to describe of the management in the hospital environmental of ICU of Martha Friska hospital mainly in order to maintain the existence, how to control, and the attitude of preventing nosocomial infection on the hospital environmental. This study is a descriptive survey research with population are all nurses as paramedic serving on ICU Unit. Total sample 24 respondents. In addition, this research also applied a general guidance in management of hospital’s environmental based on the Ministry of Health’s decree of 1204  for 2004. The results indicated that mostly respondents is noted female in 79.2%. Upon the education level, averagely they got have Diploma degree noted some 91.7%, and no respondents ever got have special coaching or training about naosocomial  infection, even any special certificate on it. The management, the internal controlling  as done of hospital scope in Martha Friska is classified sufficiently rate based on the Ministry of Health’s decree in 1204 for 2004. It is suggested to the management of hospital kindly provide special coaching in the point to prevent nosocomial infection mainly to on ICU Unit, in order to while serving public be better to nosocomial infection , it shall create health service that  give the best quality on patient visiting the hospital. Abstract

Sanitary processing and examination taperworm larvae in dog meats in restaurants around padang bulan simpang selayang medan 2013. Various microorganisem can cause disease in humans,either directly or through the intermediaries of the animal (zoonoses),from the class cestoda are parasitic zoonoses including the Echinococcus granulosus transmitted by dog meat which can cause hidaditosis in humans. This study aims to determine the condition of the dog meat hygiene sanitary processing and analyzing the content of larval tapeworm ( Echinococus granulosus ) in dog meat served in restaurant around Padang Bulan Simpang Selayang Medan. The examination conducted in the Laboratory Medilab with muscle compression method and digestive muscles. Results of the study showed that the sanitation principles restourant roast B1 Padang Bulan Simpang Selayang Medan not meet health requirements in accordance with Kepmenkes RI No. 942 / Menkes / SK / VII / 2003 on the principle of processing, keeping, transport, and presentation of meat. At six raw meat samples examined there were two positive samples of raw meat containing tapeworm larvae, after being continued to muscle method, known tapeworm larvaes are still infective. While the meat samples were baked half-cooked and baked until cooked perfectly, there are no larval tapeworms. To break the chain of worm infection in dogs, needs to improve the quality of environment sanitation communities around the residence, and provide good feed for dogs cooked. Besides that dog meat to consumers to cook until the meat perfectly cooked to be consumed on order to avoid paraditic infection. Keywords : Sanitation, ham, taperworm larvae

Abstract

Environmental health effort was one of the principal public health centre, which includes housing, health a privy, clean water, disposal of waste, waste water and sanitation a public place and food processing.This study was aimed to know analysis program execution in environmental health public health central at tapanuli disrict.This research was descriptive design and informer in this research is power health programs officers in central tapanuli health department with an six informants.The results of research that we have known majoring in sanitation but, facilities and infrastructures already exist but not yet complete, a guideline and technical had been available in all public health centre, program of environmental health had walked in all the existing health in the county of tapanuli district .For the house of healthy fully 85 percent of the houses qualified, a privy that qualifies as many as 75 % of people, the scope of the house qualified health, as much as 85 percent of the houses, the quality of the drinking water that qualify as many as 100 % of a house, the number of public places that qualifies as many as 75 %.After the achievement of targets program 2010 ( KEPMENKES No..Hk.03.01 / 160 / i / 2010), all the coverage program environmental health in public health centre central Tapanuli district has reached target. Suggested to dept. of regency central tapanuli to may increase the number of officers sanitation after the number of population in the area ex-coworker, need to be fund management size maximum that the program environmental health way it target that had been established.
