Abstract

Abstract.This research objectives to investigate the distance of genetics and differentiator factor of the horses in four District in North Sumatra. This research was conducted in Karo District (60 heads), Humbahas District (77 heads), Tapanuli Utara District (52 heads) and Samosir District (42 heads) at July 2016. The analysis used  were descriptive analysis, discriminant analysis, canonical analysis, principal component analysis, genetic distances and filogenic tree. The observed variables in this study were shoulder height, hip height, hip width, body length, chest circumference, chest and chest width, and the variables that distinguish the horse in term of size were hip height and in terms of shape was the width of the chest. The nearest genetic distance was the horse between Karo and North Tapanuli District (0.869) and the horse that had the farthest genetic distance were horses in Karo District with horses in Samosir District (14.539). Based on the results of morphometric measurements of horses in this study, in order to obtain heterosis, it was expected to cross between horses in Karo District and horse in Samosir District. Abstract

Abstract. SAUDARMAN SITANGGANG, 2018: Utilization of Bio Slurry with Input ofBuffalo Faeces and Water Hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) With Various Doses of MOD(Microorganism Decomposer) on Productivity of Indigofera zollingeriana. Guided byNURZAINAH GINTING and YUSUF LEONARD HENUK.The aim of this research was to inventigate the effect of bio gas slurry with the input ofbuffalo feces and water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) with various doses of MOD(Microorganism Decomposer) on Indigofera zollingeriana productivity. This research wasconducted in Parbaba Village, Pangururan District, Samosir Regency of North Sumaterafrom April to November 2017. The design used in this research was split plot design with 4replications. Factor I dose of MOD, M1 = 1 liter / 150 liters and M2 = 2 liters /150 liters.Factor II dose of bio-slurry fertilizer with input of buffalo feces and water hyacinthparameters, P0 = 0 (as control), P1 = 20, P2 = 40. Were plant height, stems diameter,fresh weight production, and dry weight troduction.The results showed that dosage of MOD gave significant effect on plant height, stemdiameter, fresh weight production, and dry matter of Indigofera zollingeriana. Theprovision of bio gas slurry with buffalo faeces and water hyacinth with various doses ofMOD has a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, fresh weight production, anddry matter. The conclusion of this research that increasing the dose of MOD andfertilization dose of Indigofera zollingeriana gave a better result.Keywords: slurry, buffalo faeces, water Hyacinth, productivity, indigofera zollingeriana

Abstract

Abstract.This study’s objective was to investigate the income and R / C of sheep business. This research was conducted on Cilawan Village,Pantai Cermin Sub District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, Sumatera Utara Province for 2 months starting from September until November 2017. The study was a survey which used Determination Method. Number of samples were 30% of total number of breeder in research area; there were 8 respondents whose intensive breeders and 30 respondents whose semi intensive breeders. The data used in this research were primary data and secondary data. Primary data were the result of interviews with respondents and secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results showed that intensive breeder earned income smaller compared to semi intensive breeder. Income on every sheep sale was Rp 3.468.241,-on intensive and Rp 5.794.982,- on semi intensive breeder and the value of R/C was 0.144. The conclusion of this study that sheep breeding system in Celawan Village Regency consisted of two maintenance system, intensive and semi intensive system which gave different effect to farmer's income. This was because intensive maintenance systems required more costs for feed and labor costs compared to semi intensive system.Keywords: income, sheep,intensive breeder and semi intensive breeder

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is getting know the organoleptic test of buffalo milk and goat milk by using bamboo ampel (Bambusa vulgaris) and Bamboo Gombong (Gigantochloa verticilata). This research was done at Food Technology Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty of University of Sumatera Utara in May 2017 - June 2017. The design is used in this research is a complete randomized design of factorial pattern by using two factors, they are milk factor (S): (S1 / buffalo milk and S2 / Goat milk) and the second factor is bacteria (B): (B1 / without using bamboo, B2 / using bamboo Gombong, B3 / using bamboo ampel). Parameters analyzed were Color, Aroma, Flavor, Texture and Total Acid Level. The results showed that the milk curd of buffalo milk and the milk curd of goat milk using bamboo ampel and bamboo gombong gave a not significant different effect (P <0.01) on the organoleptic value of color, smell, taste, texture and total acid level. Can be known milk milk buffalo and goat milk by using bamboo ampe and bamboo gombong more than curried milk milk and goat milk without using bamboo, for the total acid content is the same as the use of bamboo gombong without using bamboo.

Abstract

Abstract. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara in March 2015- June 2015. This study aims to determine the value of dry matter and organic matter processed leaf palm fronds fermentation and ammoniation in cattle Aceh. This study used the Latin Square Design (LSD) 4 x 4. The treatment is Po as the control (untreated), Pf = fermentation (biomol), P2 = ammoniation (urea 3%), P3 = fermentation + ammoniation.The observed variable composed of Consumption and Dry Matter (DMD) and Organic Matter Digestibility (OMD). The result showed that treatments gave not significantly different (P>0.05) on consumption of DM and OM, but gave significantly different effect on DMD and OMD (P<0.05). Average % DMD on treatments Po, PI, P2, P3 : 51.54; 56.65; 51.48; and 63.05 and average % OMD : 58.61; 63.22; 57.28; and 63.05, respectively. The conclusion from this study that utilization of oil palm fronds treated by fermentation or combination between fermentation and ammoniation can increase the dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility in Aceh cattle.

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this research is analyze the extent to which the utilization of jackfruit seed flour can substitute rice bran in rations on the performance of chicken. This research was conducted in laboratory of livestock breeding livestock study program of agricultural faculty of north sumatera university, in March-April 2017. The design used in this research is randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 3 groups. Treatment with various levels of jackfruit seed meal ration with P0 (0%), P1 (10%), P2 (20%), P3 (30%). The parameters in this study are ration consumption, weight gain and ration conversion.The results showed the average consumption (g / head / day) for treatment P0; P1; P2; P3 of; 349,53; 345,71; 354.28; 343.67, then weight gain (PBB) (g / head / day) were; 98,85; 100,41; 92.49; 100.8, and ration conversion of; 6.36; 6.28; 6.87 and 6.21. The results of the diversity analysis showed that the utilization of Jackfruit seed flour gave no significant effect (P> 0,05) on the performance of chicken. The conclusion of this research is the use of jackfruit seed flour in ration can substitute rice bran in chicken ration.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the effect of price level on egg demand  and to analyze factors affecting egg demand price in North Tapanuli regency. In addition, this study also to investigate how big the elasticity of egg demand  and to know marketing channel eggs in North Tapanuli Regency. This research use survey method with consumer respondent unit and egg consumer. The sample was obtained by accidental sampling method and obtained 48 traders and 90 consumers. Data analysis was done descriptively and statistically. The results showed that the ras chicken egg and buras chicken egg are elastic while the duck eggs are inelastic. The demand for ras chicken eggs is significantly influenced by the number of dependents and substitute goods (tofu). Demand for duck eggs and buras chicken eggs is significantly influenced by the number of dependents. The more the number of family dependents then the number of egg demand will be higher. Influence of a good from the price of other goods because each item has a mutual relationship replace the function of usability, and also complement each other.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characterization and comparative test of exterior and interior qualities including egg weight, eggshell thickness, egg shape, air cavity and interior including high albumin, egg yolk, and haugh egg unit from egg strain Isa Brown and Hyline Brown in different areas of Deli Serdang and Langkat regencies, North Sumatra Province in June-July 2017. The eggs used in this study were 400 eggs divided by 100 Isa Brown and 100 Hyline Brown from Denai Village, Pantai Labu Subdistrict, Regency Deli Serdang, then 100 Isa Brown and 100 Hyline Brown from Sei Limbat Village, Kecamatan Selesai, Langkat District. Each egg is collected directly from the chicken and then measured against the exterior and interior. The results showed that the characterization and comparative test of chicken eggs consumption of strains of Isa Brown and Hyline Brown in different regions had results(thit> ttable) with t test on comparative test I1: H1 and I2: H2 meaning egg of different strain showed different result also on egg weight parameter, shapeegg, shell weight, air cavity, egg white index, haugh unit, egg yolk index and yolk color. The comparative test I1: I2 showed no significant differences (thit <ttabel) on egg weight, shell thickness, shell weight, egg white index, haugh unit and egg yolk index, but showed significantly different (titable) results in egg shape, air cavity and yolk color, meaning there is environmental influence but not significant to other quality of egg with same strain in different region. In the H1: H2 comparative test the results were not significantly different (thit <ttabel) on all parameters except the color of egg yolks, meaning that no environmental or strain effect produced eggs of the same quality in different regions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reproduction and morphological performance of the stallion in Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This research was conducted in Humbang Hasundutan Regency and cement test at Livestock Breeding and Animal Feed Siborong-borong on July - August 2017. This research was conducted on 15 adult stallion. Then by using Ms Excel data application in input to know total, mean, standard deviation, coefficient of diversity. The results showed that in the macroscopic test the cement volume has a coefficient of 7.74% diversity. The color obtained is white gray. 75% viscous viscosity, 26% dilute. pH diversity coefficient 6.79%. In the microscopic test that motility has a coefficient of 9.91% diversity. The concentration has a diversity coefficient of 7.74%. 90% Abnormalities Normal, 10% abnormal. Measurements of morphology include coefficient of diversity of head length2,71, head width 4.54%, length of neck 5.04% height of shoulder1,89% of circumference of chest 3.40%, depth of breasts 6.84%, length of body3,765%, height of hip 2.16 %, Hole width3,14%, Scrotum diameter 9.45%. The coefficient of data obtained shows the number below 10 which means the sample data is taken to show a uniform value. The uniforms obtained indicate good quality score values ​​for breeding.

Abstract

Abstract.This study aims to determine effects of utilization of Bio-Gas Slurry With buffalo Feces Input And water hyacinthwith Various Dosage MOD (Microorganisme Decomposer) on Productivity of Moringa oleifera. Research conducted at the field experimental, Samosir Sumatra Utara in April-November 2017. The design used in the study was split plot design with four replications. First factor (M): dosage decomposer, M1= 1 liters/150 kg and M2= 2 liters/150 kg. Second factor (P): dosage was fertilizier of Bio-Gas Slurry With buffalo Feces Input And water hyacinth(ton/ha/year), P0=0, P1=20, P2=40. The variable were  plant height, stem diameter and number of branches. The results showed that dosage decomposer and dosage of fertilizer Bio-Gas Slurry significantly affectplant height, stem diameter and number of branches Moringaoleifera.The utilization of Bio-Gas With buffalo Feces Input And water hyacinthwith Various Dosage MOD affect plant height, stem diameter and number of branches. It is concluded that dosage 2 liter/150 kg and application 40 ton/ha/year show higher on production of Moringa oleifera.
