Abstract

The legal environment is divided into two parts of criminal law and civil law. Based on these two parts there are some terms of foreign terms that are used, but not necessarily the legal person himself who just started learning will quickly remember it. The legal dictionary application helps legal people who are new to learning foreign terms in legal language, with the design process helping the application process in a more detailed direction. In addition, it helps practitioners in the practical legal environment use it, by looking at one application all the required data or information can be searched. The tools of this legal dictionary app are smartphones or smartphone smartphones that are more popular in the community as smartphones. Smartphones are now very close to the communication needs of all people, so the design of the application in the future does not rule out the possibility of being able to be used through Android-based smartphone phones. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to design a legal dictionary system with the help of android application. While the purpose of this study is to design a legal dictionary system with the help of an android application. Based on the results of the research design of a legal dictionary system, then with the help of an android application can help people who are less aware of the system can understand the workings of the system in detail. Abstract

Innovative service quality, basically take form reputable technology information which the activity is create the “recharge electricity program” that have objection to effectivity and make it easier to operate. Such as acces and manage the using electricity for this day. But its positivelly response by batam citizen , the aim of this research is to measures the customer value how far the relationship mediated with image corporate. this research is evaluated to measuring how much level of public trust rendered against his visit for program conducted by pln bright batam as indicated by variable the value of customers and its implications on the image of state-owned electricity company pln was bright batam as a public company. How ever the variable is implicate for further study to increasing the image position PT PLN bright Batam as a public service corporation. The population research is the customer electricity prepaid households across seven district in Batam which ones with samples from 7 200 respondents and engineering the sample collection using proportional. sampling techniquesThe research is explanatory survey to analyze how big the influence and the relations among a variable whose, customers confidence in image of companies .This object of study is a customer of the recharge electricity take from 200 household responden in 7 district in Batam. This research used Structure Equation Model (SEM) as model analysis which for operate data mining used Lisrel 8.8 for windows. The result of this study observed variabel significantly positively to laten variabel such as customer value, trust, and Image. Customer Value has positive and significantly effect on trust and image.

Abstract

Culinary tourism has become a hobby of many people when they are in a new area. Batam is one of the most visited culinary destinations. This is because Batam is in international shipping lanes directly adjacent to Singapore and Malaysia. Batam is often used as a tourist attraction that allows people to visit neighboring countries. Batam has a diverse culinary, because the population of Batam consists of sharing tribes and cultures. Starting from Aceh typical foods such as aceh noodles up to typical Manado such as grilled fish. One special food just in Batam that Gong-gong which is only sold in certain seafood restaurants in Batam. Information to get to culinary attractions is often difficult to obtain and also rarely updated. This study aims to obtain information about culinary tourism in Batam-based Android. The use of Smartphones is already a basic requirement. Many travelers are looking for information using the internet through their smartphone. One of the most widely used operating systems is the Android operating system. Android operating system really helps its users in various daily activities. With the applications running on the Android operating system on each smartphone tourists, then they can search for culinary information via smartphone wherever they are. The conclusion of this research is has been made an application in the form of culinary attractions in Batam-based Android City which is designed for smartphone users to make it easier for tourists to get information.

Abstract

This research has purpose to discuss about linguistics that related to discourse analysis. In this aspect discusses the analysis of language use in texts. The phenomena of discourse analysis can be seen in the usage of cohesion. The concept of cohesion relatively uncommon to many people. Sometimes people fail in making a cohesive writing. It also happens to the students, especially English Department students. They often find a mistake in determining the concept refers to relations of meaning and context that exist within the text. Cohesion is considered as one of the most important aspect in the analysis of text discourse that needed to be understood by English learners especially English Department students. The ability of using grammatical cohesive devices determines student’s capability in writing. In this research, it is found that students have ability in using grammatical cohesive devices such as: Reference, Substitution, Ellipsis and Conjunction. The percentage of each device indicates their knowledge toward grammatical cohesive device in writing descriptive text. In addition, the result of this research also classified the types of cohesion found in descriptive writing by English Department students in Putera Batam University. Result of this research, students are not taught grammatical cohesive devices, they are asked to write a text where it is supposed to be cohesive in the use of the different types of grammatical cohesive devices. The conclusion we got from the analysis of the students’ test was that students use quite enough grammatical cohesive devices in their writing. But, most of them are confuse and it seems that the inappropriate use of grammatical cohesive devices is concerned with some of them as conjunctions which are most commonly used.

Abstract

The existence of social media in the era of information technology especially in tourism industry is very profitable for the perpetrators of the tourism industry because it can be used more effectively and efficiently in the delivery of information to tourists or potential visitors. In this research will be examined how the business entrepreneurs, operators or managers optimise and use social media application platform in increasing tourist visits, increasing popularity and eventually increasing the economic income. In this study, researcher team used descriptive research method where researchers want to find the facts that exist on the utilization of social media applications by entrepreneurs in the field of tourism. through this research method is expected discovery that can explain related to the benefits gained by users of social media in the tourism industry in the city of Batam. The result of this research is that based on the data obtained and processed shows that entrepreneurs in tourism have used multi platform social media. Social media applications used include facebook (100%), Instagram (87.5%), twitter (46.8%), whatsapp (97.3%), youtube (28.1%), Line (15, 6%) and other applications (3%). Further data shows that entrepreneurs or tourism operators and even managers have taken advantage of social media applications by having separate accounts for their tourism purpose, instead of the other data show that not all them have premium or business accounts for this tourism business.

Abstract

The Government continues to maximize the potential of existing taxes to meet the State financing each year. One of the efforts by facilitating taxpayers to report their taxes through E-Filing or Electronic Filing System is this effort seen from the low level of individual taxpayer compliance due to taxpayers who have enrolled but not reported the SPT. The purpose of this research is to know the improvement of tax compliance report of Individual Personal Tax Payer in front of E-Filing as well as the factors that become obstacles in the implementation of E-Filing. This research includes descriptive research type using qualitative approach. Population in this research is all personal tax payer in Batam city, The sample of research use purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of E-filing has been quite successful in improving compliance through increasing the rate of submission of individual taxpayer annual tax returns. So many taxpayers feel more practical, easy, fast and efficient by using e-filing. But there are some obstacles in the application of e-filing, one of the obstacles is the lack of knowledge of taxpayers and the difficulty of convincing taxpayers will use e-filing easier and more efficiently. The targeted findings are not reached, still high or above 50% of the people of Batam do not understand e-filing yet, but those who already use e-filing implementations of E-filing are quite successful in improving compliance.

Abstract

This study aims to find the construction and perspective of the use of Indonesian language slang in Batam from time to time from the 1980s to the 2000s. Data collection methods are observation and interview methods. The technique used is "Bebas Libat Cakap and Pancing" (Sudaryanto, 2015). In the process of analyzing the data, the researcher uses the method of Padan and Agih. The method is used to see the construction of slang in each period while the matching method is used to describe the teenage’s perspective in the use of slang from time to time. The results showed that there were differences in the shape and context of using slang in the 80s and 2000s. The way in which non-standard languages differ from one another. The 2000s slang language, for example, is formed by changing "a" to "e" in the last syllable and the First Syllable Abolition. The transformational language that is the 80s era slang form is formed by Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formulas after single syllable vowels, Ga / G, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formulas before repeated syllables, formula Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go before the last consonant, and the Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formulas for cluster consonants. The perspective of using slang language can be found the highest percentage of 30.76% slang language used because others want to be cool, 46.42% colloquial language is used with the aim of easy to communicate, and 66.66% of transformational languages are used because they want to hide something from others.

Abstract

Tax avoidance is an arrangement to minimize or eliminate the tax burden by considering the tax consequences. The case of BCA's objection to the tax correction made by the Directorate General of Tax (DGT). BCA considers that the DJP correction on fiscal profit of Rp 6.78 trillion should be reduced by Rp 5.77 trillion. Reason of BCA for having transfer asset transactions to IBRA. Where indication leads to tax avoidance. This study aims to test and provide empirical evidence of the influence between firm size, profitability and leverage against tax avoidance at Bank Riau Kepri Islands. This type of research is categorized in causative research. The population in this research is Bank Riau Kepri in 2015-2017. Sample selection by purposive sampling method. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from www.idx.co.id. Data collection techniques with documentation techniques. The data were analyzed by multiple regression analysis with SPSS 22. The test result showed that firm size measured by CETR had significant influence on Tax avoidance, Leverage measured by debt equity ratio (DER) had positive and significant influence on Tax avoidance (Y) and Profitability as measured by Return On Assets (ROA) have a significant effect on Tax avoidance (Y). For further research should add other variables that affect the tax avoidance of companies such as ownership structure and audit committee.

Abstract

Human activity in the use of electricity has increased over time - time. This is due to electrical energy has become an important part for the development of human civilization in various fields including economic, technological, social and human culture. Strategy forecasting the need for electrical energy is needed. People's need for electric energy continues to grow every year. In addition to population growth, the economic growth of a region is believed to be one of the factors affecting the increasing consumption of electrical energy in the area. As the city of Batam in Batam Center area which is an industrial city and the population is fairly solid. Batam Center area includes the central area of ​​Batam city because the area is close to Hang Nadim Airport Batam and Batam International Port Center. Therefore every household should understand the effective use of electricity so that the electricity needs do not become greater than the electricity supply. Data mining techniques with C4.5 algorithm can predict the use of household electricity to more easily regulate the use of household electricity. The sample data is taken as many as 30 correspondent data that use electricity meter in Batam Center area. The number of electronic goods, the number of users, the length of time at home and the area of ​​the house building will be variable in analyzing the data. There are variables Wide of Home Build and Number of Family Members become decision forming tree variable. The calculation results have been tested using Weka 3.7.4 with the same rule result.
