Listening is essential for language development, underpinning skills like speaking, reading, and writing. Effective media choice in teaching is crucial since research emphasizes that comprehensible input and active engagement are vital for listening comprehension (Richards, 2008; Sadiku, 2015; Vandergrift, 1999). Harmer (2007) asserts that engaging with input is key for language activation, while recent studies (Danxin Liang, 2013; Chen Chan et al., 2014) suggest that audiovisual materials enhance comprehension by providing visual stimuli that aid attention and schema activation. This study explores how animated videos affect listening comprehension among 16 senior English language education students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Participants were exposed to both video and audio materials on nostalgia and melancholy, respectively, and answered 10 multiple-choice questions for each type. Analysis using a dependent sample t-test revealed no significant difference between the audio-only and video conditions, with a t-value of -0.522, a p-value of 0.609, and minimal effect sizes (Cohen's d of -0.131 and Hedges' g of -0.124). Despite theoretical support from dual-coding and multimedia learning theories, the study found negligible benefits from visual aids. Possible influencing factors include learner proficiency, content complexity, cognitive load, and low motivation.

For L2 teachers to enhance their students' L2 reading abilities, they must take into account an appropriate teaching approach that can impact reading accomplishment in a second language (L2) and solve students’ problem in learning foreign language. In learning reading skill, several Indonesian students have their own difficulties such as challenging vocabulary, understanding sentences, accurately reading words or sentences, and so forth. Those problems make Indonesian language learner feel frustrated and give up in learning language, on top of that, the conventional teaching method also can’t boost their interest to learn English language. However, A lot of studies had conducted to investigate the various of teaching method particularly K-W-L teaching method that has an impact on reading comprehension. Further, K-W-L method has a lot of advantage when it is implemented in learning language it’s like encourage student reading interest and reading comprehension. The current study fills this gap by investigating the effectiveness K-W-L method in improving learning achievement in terms of reading comprehension. The fundamental claim of this research is that the K-W-L method of instruction may have an effect on students' ability to understand what they read and retain information in a descriptive text. Thirty-three junior high school students completed reading exams (pre-test and post-test) using two different forms of descriptive but they were divided into two classes to find the difference in reading abilities of students who were treated using K-W-L method and students who were not. The effect of K-W-L as a teaching strategy on students' reading comprehension will be assessed by comparing the outcomes of the two assessments. According to test scores, there were disparities in EFL reading comprehension, as revealed by the statistical analysis, suggesting that this teaching strategy is important in determining the reading accomplishment of EFL students. These findings offer valuable information about how the K-W-L method may be structured and put into practice to help L2 learners improve their L2 reading proficiency and students' engagement. The paper concludes with a few recommendations for additional research in the K–W–L domains, including L2 reading and L2 teaching methods.

The integration of disabled individuals into the workforce remains a significant challenge despite existing legal frameworks promoting inclusivity. This study explores the barriers faced by disabled workers, including workplace discrimination, limited accessibility, and lack of career advancement opportunities. Through a literature review approach, the research highlights the importance of inclusive policies, specialized training programs, assistive technologies, and the role of governments in ensuring fair employment practices. Findings suggest that although legal protections exist, enforcement remains weak, leading to persistent workplace inequalities. Companies must adopt inclusive strategies, such as workplace accommodations and flexible policies, to enhance productivity and ensure equal opportunities. Moreover, public awareness campaigns are crucial to changing societal perceptions and eliminating stereotypes against disabled workers. Strengthening regulatory compliance, increasing government incentives for inclusive hiring, and providing tailored skills development programs can further enhance employment opportunities for disabled individuals. The study concludes that a multi-stakeholder approach is essential to creating an equitable and accessible work environment for all.

Objective: This study aims to formulate the concept of the most appropriate approach in efforts to respect, protect and fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities as well as the concept of policies that are responsive to persons with disabilities, especially women and children with disabilities. Method: this study uses a qualitative approach with literature and direct observation methods to study disability in Indonesia, this approach was chosen because it allows researchers to gain insight into disability issues in depth from various perspectives both from academic journal sources and real observers of direct observation. Results: Through a qualitative approach, the results of this study are; 1. Offer to apply the concept of inclusion to answer the problems of violence, marginalization and discrimination against persons with disabilities. Inclusion has conditions for a positive social environment, accessibility and affordability of the physical environment in the form of buildings and infrastructure. Social inclusion that is inseparable from history and experience is based on the beliefs, values and cultures of the diverse Indonesian people. 2. Responsive public policies for the protection and fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities are a legal guarantee for the implementation of participatory public programs and services. Inclusive responsive policies that are able to place people with disabilities as part of diversity and are able to play a social role, contribute positively to development. Conclusion: People with disabilities have equal rights with others. Even so, discrimination is still often felt because they are considered not independent. In order to achieve independence, people with disabilities do work to meet the needs of life and improve social skills. The lack of availability of jobs for people with disabilities makes people with disabilities prefer to work in the business sector. The existence of law no. 8 of 2006 makes several people with disabilities work in a company. This is a challenge for people with disabilities because they must be able to adapt to the work environment. Meeting new people is certainly not an easy thing. Discrimination that has been felt by people with disabilities can certainly hinder the process of self-adjustment. Therefore, social workers can play a role in increasing people's capacity to overcome the problems they face and connect the resources around them to help overcome problems.

This study aims to describe the multidimensional level of political participation among the people of Bondowoso Regency. Data were collected from 92 respondents who met the criteria of being Bondowoso residents and having participated in political activities, particularly elections. The indicators of political participation examined in this study include trust, awareness, knowledge, and active engagement in political processes. To ensure the reliability and validity of the findings, a previously validated political participation measurement tool was adopted. This instrument was adapted from prior research on political participation in Indonesia, with adjustments made to fit the local context of Bondowoso. Descriptive analysis results indicate that the majority of respondents exhibit low to moderate levels of political trust, while their political knowledge generally falls within the moderate category. The study also reveals that despite having a relatively good level of political awareness, this alone is insufficient to foster more active political participation without strong trust in political institutions. Nevertheless, this study has several limitations, including a relatively small sample size and potential bias in the measurement instruments. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size, develop more robust measurement tools, and consider broader contextual factors to gain deeper insights into the dynamics of political participation and public perceptions of local political processes.

The findings indicate a strong relationship between students' translation skills and their reading comprehension. Students' average scores for reading comprehension and translation skills are 60.00 and 71.59, respectively. The two-tailed sig value is 0.009 less than 0.05. Thus, it can be inferred that pupils' reading comprehension and translation skills are positively correlated. In conclusion, students' reading comprehension skills and their capacity to translate news item text are significantly correlated.

Globalisation has a significant impact on the education sector in Indonesia, particularly in terms of social inequality and the quality of education. In the context of social inequality, globalisation exacerbates disparities in access to education between urban and rural areas, as well as among different economic groups. The challenge of equitable education becomes more complex due to differences in quality, relevance, and efficiency. Education in some regions is often not aligned with global market needs and is frequently inefficient in delivering knowledge. Therefore, globalisation necessitates reforms in the education system to make it more inclusive, high-quality, and relevant to contemporary challenges.
