This journal accepts and publishes scientific articles that are original and focused on community service. Abstract

Kecacingan adalah infeksi berbasis lingkungan dan termasuk penyakit yang terabaikan (Neglected Diseases), padahal  infeksi ini dapat menyebabkan anemia pada ibu hamil, gangguan pertumbuhan perkembangan anak dan penurunan fungsi kognitif.  Infeksi kecacingan seringkali diabaikan karena kurangnya pengetahuan tentang infeksi kecacingan dan mengkonsumsi obat cacing apabila telah menimbulkan gejala berat. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat  adalah meningkatkan kesehatan ibu hamil dan anak sekolah dalam pemanfaatan tanaman anti infeksi kecacingan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan promotif dan  preventif yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan pada sasaran ibu hamil, ibu menyusui dan kader kesehatan  berjumlah 50 orang di Posyandu Lingkungan Dasan Cermen Utara, serta siswa dan guru SD di  SDN 26 Cakranegara berjumlah 50 orang. Hasil Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat sasaran di Posyandu Lingkungan Dasan Cermen Utara, pengetahuan meningkat dari 5 orang (10%) menjadi 50 orang (100%) dan sikap mendukung dari tidak ada 0% menjadi 45 orang (90%). Sasaran di SDN 26 Cakranegara , pengetahuan meningkat dari 10 orang (80%) menjadi 50 orang (100%) dan sikap mendukung dari 5 orang (10%) menjadi 50 orang (100%).Ibu hamil dan anak sekolah dengan pendampingan dapat melakukan kampanye kesehatan dengan Poster dan Booklet serta menanam tanaman anti infeksi kecacingan di Lingkungan dan Sekolah Improving the Health of Pregnant Women and School Children in the Utilization of Anti-Deworming Plants  Worms are environmental-based infections and include neglected diseases (Neglected Diseases), even though these infections can cause anemia in pregnant women, impaired growth and development of children and decreased cognitive function. Worm infections are often ignored because of a lack of knowledge about helminthic infections and taking worm medications when they cause severe symptoms. The aim of Community Service is to improve the health of pregnant women and school children by using anti-worm infection plants. The method of carrying out activities is promotive and preventive, namely counseling and training targeting pregnant women, nursing mothers and health cadres totaling 50 people at the Dasan Cermen Utara Environmental Posyandu, as well as elementary school students and teachers at SDN 26 Cakranegara totaling 50 people. The results of the Community Service target at Dasan Cermen Utara Environmental Posyandu, knowledge increased from 5 people (10%) to 50 people (100%) and supportive attitude from none 0% to 45 people (90%). Target at SDN 26 Cakranegara, knowledge increased from 10 people (80%) to 50 people (100%) and supportive attitude from 5 people (10%) to 50 people (100%). Pregnant women and school children with assistance can carry out health campaigns with posters and booklets and plant anti-worm infection plants in the environment and schools.

Abstract

Program studi Kehutanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Mataram merupakan satu-satunya Prodi Kehutanan Perguruan Tinggi Pemerintah, yang ada di kawasan Bali dan Nusa Tenggara dengan jumlah mahasiswa setiap tahunnya yang terus bertambah. Pertambahan mahasiswa tersebut berbanding terbalik dengan jumlah mahasiswa yang mengikuti kompetisi dan perlombaan di bidang Akademik. Berdasarkan Laporan Kinerja Program Studi (LKPS) Tahun 2020 – 2022 menunjukkan prestasi akademik mahasiswa Prodi Kehutanan masih minim yaitu sekitar 1.3%. Hal tersebut perlu ditindak lanjuti untuk meningkatkan motivasi dalam menunjang minat dan bakat mahasiswa. Pengembangan minat dan bakat dapat diawali dengan melakukan analisis SWOT, sehingga tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu mengetahui posisi Prodi Kehutanan dalam menentukan rencana strategi pengembangan minat dan bakat mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan prestasi akademik melalui analisis SWOT. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kemudian dikembangkan kedalam data kuantitatif, dengan mengkaji faktor internal dan eksternal melalui kegiatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) bersama stakeholder Prodi Kehutanan dan penjamin mutu internal Fakultas sebanyak 21 orang. . Hasil analisis berdasarkan perhitungan IFAS dan EFAS menunjukkan bahwa posisi Prodi Kehutanan berada pada kuadran III dengan titik (x = -0.4) dan (y = 0.07) yang menunjukkan strategi WO (Weakness-Opportunity) yaitu Prodi Kehutanan harus “mengubah strategi” dengan meminimalisir kendala dan kelemahan internal agar dapat meningkatkan prestasi mahasiswa. Strategy To Develop the Interest and Talent of Students Through SWOT Analysis (Case Study: Forestry Study Program the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram)  The forestry study program at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram is the only forestry study program at a state university in the Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, with an increasing number of students applying each year. However, the increased number of students did not correlate positively with the number of students participating in various academic competitions or events, hence the low achievement recorded. Based on the 2020-2022 Forestry study program performance report, the academic achievement of students in the forestry study program was very low at only 1.3%. This problem needs to be followed up to increase motivation in supporting student interests and talents. The development of interests and talents can be started by conducting a SWOT analysis, so that the purpose of this service is to find out the position of the Forestry Study Program in determining strategic plans for developing student interests and talents in increasing academic achievement through SWOT analysis. Data collection was carried out using a qualitative approach and then developed into quantitative data, by examining internal and external factors through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities with Forestry Study Program stakeholders and the Faculty's internal quality assurance. Analysis based on IFAS and EFAS calculations showed that the Forestry study program was located in the 3rd quadrant, with points (x = -0.4) and (y = 0.07) indicating that the Forestry study program should adopt WO strategy (weaknesses-opportunities). This means that the Forestry program needs to change its strategy by minimizing the obstacles and internal weaknesses to take advantage of the opportunities that exist in Order To Upgrade Students’ Capabilities

Abstract

Asesmen diagnostik sangat penting diterapkan oleh guru karena ini merupakan proses yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data tentang kemampuan atau kinerja siswa selama atau sebelum membelajarkan bahasa Inggris di kelas. Dalam konteks kurikulum Merdeka, asesmen diagnostik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan belajar siswa secara individu. Dengan demikian, tujuan pengabdian ini adalah melatih guru bahasa Inggris dalam melakukan asesmen diagnostic di SMP Negeri dan SMA Negeri dalam rangka sebagai penguatan implementasi Kurikulum merdeka. Dengan demikian, untuk mencapai harapan tersebut maka pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan empat tahapan kegiatan, yaitu tahapan identifikasi masalah; analisis kebutuhan penyelesaian masalah; pelaksanaan kegiatan ini, dan melakukan refleksi kegiatan asesmen diagnostic. Dari hasil asesmen diagnostik ini, guru dapat mengevaluasi kekuatan dan kelemahan siswa dalam masing-masing keterampilan berbahasa, serta merancang strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk memenuhi kebutuhan belajar mereka. Selain itu, asesmen diagnostik juga dapat membantu guru untuk menilai aspek non-akademik siswa seperti sikap, nilai, dan keterampilan sosial yang juga penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Guru dapat menggunakan instrumen seperti kuesioner atau rubrik penilaian untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang aspek non-akademik siswa. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di SMA dan SMP di Lombok Tengah dapat mengikuti program pengabdian yang bertemakan asesmen diagnostik dalam kurikulum Merdeka. Program ini dapat membantu guru-guru dalam mengembangkan kompetensi asesmen diagnostik yang efektif dan efisien, sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam keterampilan berbahasa Inggris. Implementation of Diagnostic Assessment in English Subject at Public Junior High Schools and Public Senior High Schools: Strengthening the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Central Lombok Regency Diagnostic assessment is crucially important for teachers as it is a process used to gather data on students' abilities or performance in English language learning in the classroom, either during or prior to instruction. In the context of the Independent Curriculum, diagnostic assessment is employed to identify individual students' learning needs. Thus, the aim of this engagement is to train English language teachers in implementing diagnostic assessment at Public Junior High Schools and Public Senior High Schools, as a means of strengthening the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. To achieve this goal, the engagement is conducted in four stages: problem identification, needs analysis for problem-solving, implementation of the activities, and reflection on diagnostic assessment practices. Through the results of diagnostic assessment, teachers can evaluate students' strengths and weaknesses in each language skill and design appropriate learning strategies to address their learning needs. Additionally, diagnostic assessment also assists teachers in assessing students' non-academic aspects, such as attitudes, values, and social skills, which are equally important in English language learning. Teachers can employ instruments such as questionnaires or assessment rubrics to gather information on students' non-academic aspects. To enhance the quality of English language instruction, English language teachers in Central Lombok at both the junior and senior high school levels can participate in a diagnostic assessment program within the Independent Curriculum. This program can support teachers in developing effective and efficient diagnostic assessment competencies, thereby improving students' learning outcomes in English language skills.

Abstract

Sampah plastik yang terdapat di perairan bukan hanya diproduksi oleh aktivitas rumah tangga di pesisir. Aktivitas di darat yang menghasilkan plastik sebagai buangan atau limbah dalam jangka waktu yang lama, dapat terbawa oleh ombak atau angin, dan limbah tersebut masuk ke badan perairan sungai serta akhirnya bermuara di tepi pantai. Tingginya jumlah sampah plastik yang masuk ke perairan memiliki dampak buruk pada biota perairan, yang secara signifikan akan menurunkan kualitas lingkungan perairan serta produktivitas hasil perikanan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk meminimalkan pembuangan limbah plastik ke perairan, salah satunya melalui pengedukasian siswa atau pelajar sekolah dasar secara dini melalui kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM). Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan perairan dengan mensosialisasikan slogan "Jaga Laut Kita dari Sampah Plastik". Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan sikap bertanggung jawab terhadap kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan, mengurangi penggunaan kemasan sekali pakai, menggunakan wadah kemasan isi ulang, memisahkan sampah plastik (anorganik) dari sampah organik yang cenderung basah atau lembab, dan berupaya mendaur ulang limbah plastik yang sudah dikumpulkan. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) No 13 Jeruju Besar, yang terdiri dari 26 anak siswa kelas 3. Kegiatan PKM berjalan lancar, dan evaluasi dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan peserta antara sebelum dan setelah kegiatan, seperti yang terindikasi dari hasil penilaian kuesioner yang diisi oleh peserta. Promotion to Quality Improvement of the Aquatic Environment through the program of Save Our Sea from Plastic Waste Plastic waste found in waters is not only produced by household activities on the coast. Activities on land that produce plastic as waste or waste for a long time, can be carried away by waves or wind, and the waste enters river water bodies and eventually ends up on the beach. The high amount of plastic waste that enters the waters has a negative impact on aquatic biota, which will significantly reduce the quality of the aquatic environment and the productivity of fishery products. Therefore, efforts are needed to minimize the disposal of plastic waste into waters, one of which is through educating students or elementary school students early through community service activities (PKM). The aim of this activity is to improve the quality of the aquatic environment by socializing the slogan "Keep Our Sea from Plastic Waste". This activity aims to instill a responsible attitude towards cleanliness and environmental health, reduce the use of single-use packaging, use refillable packaging containers, separate plastic (inorganic) waste from organic waste which tends to be wet or damp, and attempt to recycle the plastic waste that has been collected. . The partners in this activity were Public Elementary School (SDN) No. 13 Jeruju Besar, which consisted of 26 grade 3 students. The PKM activities ran smoothly, and the evaluation of this activity showed an increase in the participants' abilities between before and after the activity, as indicated by the results assessment of the questionnaire filled out by the participants.

Abstract

Tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa mengenai penggunaan Aplikasi Zotero dalam penulisan proposal Pekan Kreativitas Mahasiswa masih sangat rendah. Bahkan, masih banyak mahasiswa yang belum mengenal aplikasi Zotero. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari Program Kemitraan Masyarakat adalah memberikan pelatihan manajemen referensi dan sitasi yang efektif serta efisien menggunakan aplikasi Zotero. Hal ini bertujuan agar mahasiswa dapat mengumpulkan, mengelola, dan memasukkan referensi dengan benar dan konsisten ke dalam proposal riset. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 10 orang mahasiswa dari program studi Pendidikan Biologi, Kimia, Fisika, dan Matematika. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode transfer iptek dan Model Community Development, yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mencapai indikator tujuan adalah soal tes kemampuan awal dan akhir, observasi keterampilan menggunakan Zotero, serta angket respon. Hasil kegiatan secara umum dilihat dari tiga indikator yangkni; 1) Tingkat pemahaman sebelum pemberian materi mencapai rata-rata 42 dengan kategori rendah. Setelah pemberian materi, rata-rata mencapai 96 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Rata-rata peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 54%. 2) Keterampilan menggunakan Zotero. Pada indictor ini dikatagorikan sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 92, dan 3) Respon terhadap kegiatan pelatihan. secara umum mahasiswa merespon dengan sangat baik.  Berdasarkan ketiga indikator ini maka pelaksanaan PKM dapat dinyatakan berhasil. Reference and Citation Management Training Using the Zotero Application for Exact Research Proposal Writing in the Student Creativity Program Students' awareness and abilities about the usage of the Zotero Application in submitting Student Creativity Week proposals remain extremely poor. In fact, many students are still unfamiliar with the Zotero application. As a result, the Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to deliver effective and efficient reference and citation management training through the use of the Zotero program. This is done so that students can appropriately and consistently gather, manage, and enter references into research projects. Ten students from the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics Education departments participated in this project. The science and technology transfer technique and the Community Development Model, which comprises the stages of planning, are used to carry out this community service. Implementation, as well as assessment. Initial and end ability test questions, skill observation utilizing Zotero, and answer surveys were employed to produce the objective indicators. The three indicators show the outcomes of activities in general: 1) The degree of knowledge before presenting the information reaches an average of 42 in the poor category. Following the presentation of the content, the average reached 96, with a very high category. The average gain in comprehension is 54%. 2) Zotero proficiency. This indicator is rated as extremely good, with a score of 92 on average, and 3) Responses to training activities. In general, students performed admirably. PKM deployment can be deemed effective based on these three factors.
