Abstract

Local cultures such as batik are increasingly being undermined by globalisation. Education and culture are components that cannot be avoided in everyday life because both are basic needs for every member of society. The purpose of this study is to analyse geometric patterns in local wisdom in the form of Ciwaringin batik motifs that can be integrated into mathematics learning in elementary schools using the ethnomathematics approach. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with ethnomathematics approach. The object of this study consisted of five Ciwaringin batik motifs namely Tebu sekeret, Gambir setemplik, Gribigan, Tambang manis, and Kembang jeruk. The result of this research is that the motifs in Ciwaringin batik have geometry aspects such as straight lines, curved lines, points, angles, squares, and triangles. These aspects can be used as media for HOTS-based questions that can improve the ability to think critically, creatively, analytically, and be able to solve a problem. With the combination of HOTS and ethnomathematics, not only cultural aspects are preserved, but also mathematics learning becomes more contextual and relevant to students' daily lives.

Abstract

Evaluating educational outcomes is crucial to ensuring that students develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills. However, existing evaluation methods often fail to comprehensively address both aspects. This study aims to fill this gap by developing a prototype evaluation instrument utilizing the Rasch Model to assess students' minimum competencies in conceptual understanding and real-life application. This research is developmental in nature. It includes content validity, reliability, and construct validity of the developed instrument. The study's respondents consist of 5 experts in the expert testing phase, 28 individuals in the small-scale test, and 132 individuals in the large-scale test. Data collection was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The developed evaluation instrument provides a comprehensive assessment of minimum competencies in conceptual understanding and real-life application. The reliability tests include inter-rater reliability at 0.769, Cronbach's Alpha reliability for the small-scale test at 0.86 for single- point questions and 0.83 for four-point questions. The large-scale test results show a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.87 for single-point questions and 0.83 for four-point questions. Based on the research findings and discussion, it can be concluded that the developed evaluation instrument for minimum competencies in conceptual understanding and real-life application demonstrates good validity and reliability. Abstract

Spatial ability is part of the learning outcomes for the geometry element of the Merdeka Curriculum. The spatial ability assessment instrument must be proven valid so that it can be ensured that it correctly measures the aspect it wants to measure. This research developed and proved the validity of an instrument for assessing the spatial ability of phase C students in grade V based on classical test theory. The instrument was validated by 6 raters consisting of 3 assessment expert and 3 mathematics teachers. The results of the 6 raters' assessments were processed using Aiken V. The results showed that each question item was proven to be content valid. The 20 question items were in accordance with the indicators, material coverage and constructs as measured by a calculated V value of not less than 0.92. The instrument was tested on 40 grade V students at SDN 04 Petang Kalideres to prove the construct validity. The test results showed that 14 of the 20 questions were proven to be valid with r value of more than 0.308, 1 out of 6 questions should be eliminated due to a negative r value while the other 5 questions should be revised, and the instrument reliability was 0.659 in the medium category
