Abstract

Waste is a complex problem that has the potential to cause environmental degradation if not handled properly. Waste management in Banyumas Regency, particularly in the Purwokerto area, encounters several fundamental limitations, including the limited capacity of the transportation fleet and the lack of an integrated route distribution system. Based on the documentation of the Banyumas Regency Environmental Service, of the total daily waste generation amounting to 600 tons, only 45% is transported to the Final Disposal Site (TPA), highlighting the urgent need for optimization in the waste management system. This study applies the Dijkstra Algorithm using the greedy principle, which weights the distances between points and calculates the minimum value to develop a simulation for determining the shortest route for transporting waste from the Temporary Shelter (TPS) to the TPA in Purwokerto. The results of the computational analysis indicate that the optimal route from the Environmental Service office to the TPA/PDU Tanjung is 10.553 kilometers long, involving eight stages of algorithmic iteration. This finding confirms the efficiency of the route compared to other alternatives, supporting the acceleration of waste reduction and handling targets in alignment with the Banyumas Regency's strategic policy directives

Abstract

This article explores Indonesia's strategic role in ASEAN peacebuilding and conflict prevention during the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration, focusing on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) as a strategic normative initiative. Anchored in Constructivism and supported by role theory, this study examines how Indonesia uses ASEAN-led institutional mechanisms to promote regional stability through shared norms and ASEAN identity amid escalating Indo-Pacific geopolitical tensions. Indonesia's efforts to uphold ASEAN's centrality and advance a rules-based regional order in order to preserve peace in the region are reflected in the AOIP/ Using a qualitative research method based on literature review and document analysis, the research investigates both official ASEAN documents and relevant academic literature. The findings of this article reveal that Indonesia's role in peacebuilding and conflict prevention is based on norm-based leadership, consistent with its identity as a bridge-builder and peace promoter. Despite concerns about Indonesia's diminishing involvement in ASEAN, AOIP illustrates how Indonesia has reframed its broader leadership role, through institutional innovation and normative diplomacy by emphasizing the centrality of ASEAN and its distinctive values. Furthermore, the wide acceptance of AOIP by regional and external powers demonstrates Indonesia's success in shaping a cooperative Indo-Pacific order and contributing to long-term peacebuilding through institutional engagement.

Abstract

A contentious Hollywood action-comedy film became a hot topic in 2014, sparking an increase of hostilities between the two countries, the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In an era when tensions between liberalism and communism are lower than were during the Cold War, this film's reappearance raises a sensitive issue between those two countries. The United States uses its dominance in the global entertainment industry through numerous its film productions that are in high demand by the global community as a type of soft power diplomacy to intimidate its political/idealist adversaries and influence global public opinion to support it. Propaganda through communication media such as posters, radio, television, movies, music, and even social media posts like today has been commonly used since World War I to mobilize public opinion in supporting or justifying an international actor's interests. Although its performance is not as fast as hard power, it can influence and encouraging decision makers or countries to place their positions in international relations, even leading them to use hard power as final output to support these interests. Through constructivism and using film The Interview as a case study. this research paper aims to analyze and describe the utilization soft power on propaganda by the U.S.' to intimidate its political/idealism rival, North Korea with its autocracy.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology offers significant potential for environmental monitoring systems. This study investigates IoT applications in environmental monitoring through a specific case study of air quality monitoring in urban areas. Using a methodology combining literature review and MATLAB simulation, we developed a hybrid IoT architecture that integrates edge and cloud computing with LoRaWAN sensor networks. Our comparative analysis of Zigbee vs. LoRaWAN protocols reveals key performance differences: Zigbee achieves 250 kbps bandwidth while LoRaWAN operates at 0.3-50 kbps, with latency thresholds below 100ms for real-time alerts and sensor accuracy of ±10% for PM2.5 measurements. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed IoT system detects air pollution 2 hours faster than traditional manual systems, achieving 20% improvement in sensor accuracy over conventional monitoring approaches. The hybrid architecture enables cost-effective, scalable environmental monitoring with enhanced real-time capabilities for early warning systems and decision support mechanisms.

Abstract

The intersection of cryptocurrency and international conflict resolution is a growing area of study, with many pressing questions about public conceptions and the constituent discourses of cryptocurrency in the context of global conflict. This paper will examine these perceptions using both sentiment and discourse analysis. Sentiment analysis uses R Studio on social media data, specifically Twitter, classifying public sentiment towards cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, into three categories: positive, negative, and neutral. Meanwhile, parallel discourse analysis uses NVivo to examine the regular use of terms in research articles about cryptocurrency and its potential impact on conflict resolution. The qualitative review provides a deeper insight into the concepts that prompt public debate. The diversity of opinions will come forth in this research, as sentiment analysis will show the dominance of both positive and negative views. At the same time, discourse analysis will highlight the common themes of financial independence, regulatory barriers, and the ethical implications of using cryptocurrency in conflict situations. While some view cryptocurrencies as empowering more significant numbers of people and allowing the silenced to be heard, free from the constraints of mainstream institutions, others rise to point out the concerns of the volatile prices, potential for abuse, and lack of regulation to prevent abuse from taking place with these assets. This work adds to the increasing awareness related to how cryptocurrencies are seen to address international conflicts.
