Abstract

Ramadan Iktikaf is a spiritually rich act of worship that serves not only as a means of drawing closer to God but also as a medium for character development and social awareness. In the campus context, iktikaf creates a reflective space where spiritual, educational, and participatory dimensions converge across diverse backgrounds. This study aims to examine the implementation of Ramadan iktikaf at Ulil Albab Mosque, Islamic University of Indonesia, particularly in relation to the internalization of Islamic moral values and the social contribution of participants. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that iktikaf was managed systematically and inclusively, providing a profound spiritual experience while cultivating social concern. The internalization of values occurred through habituation, role modeling, and direct experience within an intensive spiritual setting. Post-iktikaf, participants demonstrated personal transformation and increased social engagement within the campus environment. A positive correlation was identified between the intensity of participation and the enhancement of moral character and social ethos. These findings affirm that iktikaf can serve as an effective strategy for character education in Islamic higher education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between humans and nature in the poem "Qasīdat Syajarat Az-Zaytūn Ath-Thānīyah" by Mahmoud Darwish using Lawrence Buell's ecocritical literary approach. This research employs a qualitative method with descriptive analysis to examine the symbolism and ecological representation in the poem. The results show that the olive tree in Darwish's poem not only serves as an aesthetic symbol but also represents courage, resilience, and adaptive strength in facing environmental challenges. The poem emphasizes the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship between humans and nature and criticizes destructive actions that harm the environment. The conclusion of this study is that the poem "Qasīdat Syajarat Az-Zaytūn Ath-Thānīyah" can serve as a reflection on contemporary ecological issues and as a medium to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implications of polygamy on the economic conditions of families based on current and relevant literature. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, the author examines the concepts and principles of polygamy in Islam, legal provisions on marriage, and financial management practices in polygamous households. The analysis focuses on the allocation of financial support, the management of basic and secondary needs, long-term financial planning, and the role of financial literacy in supporting household resilience and harmony. The findings indicate that careful and transparent financial planning, equitable distribution of responsibilities, and open communication between spouses are crucial to minimizing conflicts and inequalities in polygamous families. Moreover, financial literacy plays a significant role in ensuring that the needs of all family members are met proportionally and sustainably. With proper financial management and adherence to principles of justice, polygamy has the potential to promote well-being and strengthen family stability. Conversely, without adequate planning and oversight, polygamy may lead to tension, dissatisfaction, and a decline in the quality of family life.

Abstract

The cultivation of akhlakul karimah (noble character) in students is a crucial aspect of shaping individuals with integrity and moral excellence. Teachers, as the primary agents of education, play a strategic role in instilling moral values and virtuous character within the school environment. This study aims to describe the strategies employed by teachers in fostering akhlakul karimah among students, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered during implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, with data gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers implement various strategies, including role modeling, habituation, moral advice (mau’izhah), the integration of moral values into instruction, as well as persuasive and dialogical techniques. Factors supporting the process include a conducive school environment and parental involvement, while inhibiting factors consist of students’ lack of awareness and negative external influences. In conclusion, the successful cultivation of akhlakul karimah depends significantly on the consistency of teachers’ strategies and the synergy established among schools, families, and the broader community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between fiqh literacy and students' academic achievement in the subject of fiqh among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The instruments used included a questionnaire to measure students' level of fiqh literacy and a written test to assess their academic achievement in Islamic Religious Education, specifically in fiqh material. The sample consisted of 22 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling from a population of 210 students. Descriptive analysis showed that both fiqh literacy and academic achievement were generally in the moderate category. The Pearson Product Moment correlation test yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.489 with a t-count of 2.51, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.725 at a 5% significance level. This indicates a positive and significant relationship between fiqh literacy and students' academic achievement. The findings suggest that improving fiqh literacy can contribute to enhancing students’ learning outcomes in fiqh. Therefore, fiqh literacy should be systematically developed in the learning process through contextual approaches and the provision of relevant learning resources.

Abstract

The philosophy of Islamic education plays a central role in shaping students' character in schools amid the complex challenges of the modern era, such as globalization, technological advancement, and moral crises. This article aims to examine how fundamental concepts in Islamic educational philosophy can serve as a foundation for developing students who are noble in character, competitive, and relevant to the demands of the times. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach and descriptive-analytical analysis. Data were collected from classical and contemporary literature discussing Islamic educational philosophy, including the values of tawhid, akhlak, and the integration of religious and scientific knowledge. The findings reveal that Islamic education based on philosophical principles emphasizes three main aspects: tawhid as a spiritual foundation, akhlak as a moral compass, and knowledge as a means of social transformation. Furthermore, schools hold a strategic role in instilling these values through role modeling, character habituation, and a supportive learning environment. This study highlights the importance of a holistic and adaptive educational approach so that Islamic education in schools can produce graduates who are not only religiously grounded but also responsive to global challenges.
