Abstract

Energy is important part in human life. However, energy sources in Indonesia are still dominated by non-renewable energy sources. The depletion of non-renewable energy sources, there is a shift to use renewable energy sources, one of which is solar cells. Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) is a device that can convert light energy into electrical energy. DSSC is a third-generation solar cell consisting of TiO2 semiconductors placed on a conductive glass substrate and immersed with dyestuffs. The dye as a sensitizer used comes from the skin of the red dragon fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis). DSSC is formed with a sandwich structure, there are five parts, namely ITO glass (Indium Tin Oxide) as a substrate, TiO2 as a semiconductor material, dye (red dragon fruit skin) as an electron donor, gel electrolyte as electron transfer and active carbon as a catalyst in the comparison. This study aims to prove that organic compounds can be used as photosensitizers to produce solar-powered electric current. Researchers use descriptive methods with a quantitative approach. The test methods carried out are voltage tests, electric current tests, fill factors, power, and efficiency. Based on the tests carried out, the results of the voltage test of 199.3 mV, the electric current test of 199.3 mV, the Fill Factor of 1.379%, and the efficiency of 1.948 x10-5%. This research successfully proved that DSSC with Dragon Fruit Skin as a photosensitizer can produce electrical current and voltage.

Abstract

The positive effects of the video game industry have contributed a lot. But the negative effects of video game addiction need to be reduced. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a commonly used approach to reduce video game addiction. However, CBT does not encourage the emergence of intrinsic motivation within oneself, so that individuals can relapse into video game addiction behavior. Empirically the Motivational Interviewing (MI) approach is able to bring out individual intrinsic motivation to reduce addictive behavior. The causes of addictive behavior need to be understood in a heterogeneous and comprehensive manner. Video game addiction factors are categorized into psychological factors, internal factors, and external factors. This research was limited to video game addiction factors in terms of internal Regulatory Focus Theory (RFT) factors and external factors of interpersonal competence. The aim of the study was to test the effectiveness of the MI approach on a group of adolescent subjects by reviewing RFT and interpersonal competence. This study uses instruments that have been adapted. The hypothesis test uses a three-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The general results of the MI approach did not show a significant difference compared to group counseling using other approaches. However, in particular the MI approach for development focus members and high interpersonal competence has significant differences compared to prevention focus members with high or low interpersonal competence.

Abstract

Orange peel is an organic waste that contains vitamin C, essential oils and pectin. The essential oil content in orange peel and cinnamon waste can ward off ants and can be used as a versatile cleaning liquid with white vinegar as a solvent. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of cleaning fluids based on orange peel waste, white vinegar, cinnamon, and rosemary leaves as cleaning liquids that can ward off ants and find out their impact on the surrounding environment. The results obtained in the organoleptic color test in the form of 7 out of 10 respondents chose a brownish-yellow color, there was an organoleptic aroma test in the form of 10 respondents judged that at a distance of 25 cm the aroma was still strongly smelled, there is a test of effectiveness as a cleaning fluid, 10 respondents rated it very clean. Also on the test of effectiveness as an ant’s repellents fluid, 10 respondents rated ants away at a range of time from 1-5 minutes. It can be concluded that VCO is a versatile cleaning fluid made from natural ingredients and can ward off ants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan ketrampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi melalui model Project Based Learning dan Problem Based Learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang secara umum terdiri dari 2 (dua) siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdapat 4 (empat) tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas X MIPA 3 yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada materi Larutan Elektrolit dan Non Elektrolit. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, lembar observasi, dan angket siswa. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran kimia meningkat dengan pembuatan proyek alat uji elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rerata hasil peningkatan pada motivasi belajar siswa pada indikator cita-cita (87,5%), kemampuan belajar (82%), kondisi siswa (75%), unsur dinamis (80%), kondisi lingkungan (90%), penyampaian guru (90,5%) dan hasil belajar (89,5%). Terdapat peningkatan ketrampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi dari soal kognitif sebesar 51,25%. Abstract

Plastic waste is a serious problem that must be addressed immediately. Plastic waste reaches 17.7% of national waste according to data from the national waste management information system (SIPSN). In fact, Indonesia is currently a producer of 93 million units of plastic straw waste per day. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of making straws from lemon peel waste combined with pandan extract as an alternative solution to the plastic straw waste. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The description focuses on product manufacturing and product testing. Data collection by observation and literature study. Observations were made to determine the effectiveness of the product and a literature study was conducted to analyze the content of pandan leaves. Product effectiveness indicator if all tests are fulfilled. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative. The results of the effectiveness test showed that the straw smelled of pandan and was tasteless, the endurance test was 14.2 minutes, and the product expiration test lasted up to 22 days. From the test results concluded that the product is effective. The research suggests is that future researchers can use suitable straw molds to get a good shape.

Abstract

Brownies are foods that are in great demand by many people. The high sugar content in processed brownies made us interested in making processed brownies that are lower in sugar and rich in nutrition. Coconut dregs are one of the wastes produced when grated coconut meat is taken for coconut milk. The coconut dregs can be processed into flour as a substitute for wheat flour because of their high fiber content. Therefore, coconut dregs flour can make processed brownies enriched with carrots, which are rich in vitamin A. This research provides information to children about alternative food ingredients, namely coconut dregs flour, which can be used in various processed foods. One is coconut dregs brownies with carrots; to produce fiber-rich and more nutritious brownies; and to increase the economic value of coconut dregs. The results of this experiment are coconut dregs brownies that are rich in fiber, rich in vitamin A, and low in sugar with a vegetable taste that is not too pronounced, and the texture of the brownies is slightly crispy on the outside so that the coconut dregs brownies with carrot vegetables are liked by children. Abstract

Abstarct Indonesia is one of the largest rice-producing countries in the world. One of the rice milling wastes is bran and rice bran, which reaches 5.4 tons a year. Bran and rice bran have a lot of good nutrition for the growth of livestock. In Indonesia, animal bone waste has not been widely used, bone meal is one of the processed animal bone waste. Bone meal contains a lot of protein, so it is very good if it is processed with bran and rice bran for animal feed. The purpose of this study was to find out how to make animal feed biscuits by utilizing bran, rice bran, and bone meal. The research method used in this study was a literature study and a qualitative descriptive method with a focus on making animal feed biscuits. data collection method using observation. The data has been obtained and, analyzed using descriptive methods. Tests carried out in this study included palatability tests, density tests, water content tests, and water absorption tests. Based on the tests that have been carried out, this study succeeded in identifying the effectiveness of animal feed biscuits as good and environmentally friendly feed, in the context of utilizing rice mill waste and animal bone waste. Salah satu limbah penggilingan padi adalah dedak dan bekatul, yang mencapai 5,4 ton per tahun. Dedak dan bekatul memiliki banyak kandungan nutrisi yang baik bagi pertumbuhan hewan ternak. Di Indonesia, limbah tulang hewan belum banyak dimanfaatkan, tepung tulang merupakan salah satu olahan limbah tulang hewan. Tepung tulang mengandungan protein yang banyak, sehingga sangat baik jika diolah dengan dedak dan bekatul untuk pakan ternak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara membuat  pakan ternak dengan memanfaatkan dedak, bekatul, dan tepung tulang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian pustaka, dan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan fokus pada pembuatan biskuit pakan ternak. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi. Data yang telah diperoleh, dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pengujian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji palatabilitas, uji kepadatan, uji kadar air, dan uji daya serap air. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, penelitian ini berhasil mengidentifikasi efektivitas biskiut pakan ternak sebagai pakan yang baik dan ramah lingkungan, dalam rangka pemanfaatan limbah penggilingan padi dan limbah tulang hewan.

Abstract

Abstract Indonesia is an agrarian country where the livestock sector plays a significant role in its economic growth. The increasing goat population has led to a higher demand for animal feed. One of the byproducts of rice milling is rice bran and rice husk, which amount to 5.4 tons per year. Rice bran and rice husk have good nutritional content for the growth of ruminant animals. In Indonesia, elephant grass thrives and is commonly used as feed for ruminant animals. The aim of this research is to explore the production of BISTUART: ruminant biscuits made from rice bran and rice husk, with the addition of elephant grass and bone meal. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method and literature review, with a focus on the production of BISTUART. Data collection is conducted through observation. Testing includes palatability tests, density tests, moisture content tests, and water absorption tests. The acquired data are analyzed using descriptive methods. Based on the conducted tests, the researchers have successfully identified the effectiveness of BISTUART as an environmentally friendly ruminant feed, as part of the effort to utilize rice milling waste in the form of rice bran and rice husk, enhanced by the fermentation of elephant grass and the addition of bone meal. Salah satu limbah penggilingan padi adalah dedak dan bekatul yang mencapai 5,4 ton per tahun, dedak dan bekatul memiliki kandungan yang baik bagi pertumbuhan hewan ruminansia. Di Indonesia rumput gajah dapat tumbuh subur dan sering digunakan sebagai makanan hewan ruminansia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembuatan BISTUART: biskuit ruminansia berbahan dasar dedak dan bekatul dengan tambahan rumput gajah dan tepung tulang. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan kajian pustaka dengan fokus penelitian pada pembuatan BISTUART. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji palatabilitas, uji kepadatan, uji kadar air, dan uji daya serap air. Data yang telah diperoleh diuraikan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, peneliti berhasil mengidentifikasi efektivitas BISTUART sebagai pakan ruminansia yang ramah lingkungan, dalam rangka pemanfaatan limbah penggilingan padi berupa dedak dan bekatul yang ditambah dengan fermentasi rumput gajah dan tepung tulang. Abstract

Abstract Camphor is a solid substance in the form of white paraffin with a distinctive and strong aroma. This substance is a terpenoid with the chemical formula C10H16O and contains naphthalene. Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2021, total lime production in Indonesia will reach 797 tons. Demand for lime from year to year is also increasing. With the large production, the waste generated reaches 137 tons. This can cause environmental problems. The camphor used by the community contains terpenoids with the chemical formula C10H16O and naphthalene. According to the Louisiana State Department of Health, some of the chemicals in camphor such as naphthalene (C10H8) can cause health effects. Among these are headaches, nausea, eye and nose irritation, and coughing. Exposure to chemicals contained in camphor can cause more serious effects, namely hemolytic anemia. In response to this, this study aims to determine the process of making camphor from paraffin waste and lime peel extract to solve problems from lime peel waste and health problems from the effects of manufactured camphor. This study used a literature study for the content of paraffin waste as the main ingredient and lime peel as a substitute for the use of camphor. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The test results obtained showed that the percentage of insect mortality from camphor products was greater than that from manufactured camphor, namely 8:7 and product camphor had a pH of 7.8 which complies with SNI 03-4147-1996 standards, which range from 7.5 to 9.5.

Abstract

The outbreak of the Covid-19 virus has caused a buildup of mask waste, especially medical masks. The use of medical mask waste as a dielectric material in capacitors can be an alternative solution to reduce the amount of mask waste. The purpose of this study was to find out the procedure for testing the dielectric permittivity value of mask cloth materials and find out the value resulting from the test. This study used parallel plates with a size of 30 x 40 cm with a thickness of 0.1 mm as capacitor electrodes. The use of the Arduino Uno microcontroller device in this study functions as a reader of the capacitance values ​​on parallel plate capacitors. The resulting capacitance value will be processed to determine the permittivity value of the dielectric material using the applicable formula or formula. This study uses two principles of capacitor stages, namely charging and discharging. The test was carried out by testing the value of each layer of the mask with three repetitions. The results showed that there were differences in the dielectric permittivity values ​​for each layer of the mask cloth. The dielectric permittivity value of the outer layer which is made from a hydrophobic non-woven layer is 1.681667, the middle layer is made from a melt blown filter of 1.860667, while the inner layer which is made from a soft absorbent non-woven layer has a permittivity value of 0. 9395. It can be concluded that the highest dielectric permittivity value is owned by the middle layer while the lowest dielectric permittivity value is owned by the inner layer. The results of this study can be used as a reference for the permittivity values ​​of materials for further research development.
