Abstract

Football supporter fanaticism is a social phenomenon arising from strong emotional attachment and loyalty to a club. This study aims to examine the factors influencing supporter fanaticism and its impact on social life. A qualitative literature review was conducted using scientific articles published between 2016 and 2026. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to identify key patterns and findings. The results indicate that social identity, group loyalty, and community influence are the main factors shaping fanatic behavior among supporters. Fanaticism contributes positively by strengthening solidarity, social cohesion, and a sense of belonging. However, it may also lead to conflict, aggressive behavior, and provocative interactions on social media. These findings highlight the multifaceted nature of football supporter fanaticism. Therefore, promoting sportsmanship values and digital literacy is essential to enhance its positive contributions while minimizing its negative consequences in society.

Abstract

The dynamic development of organizational environments in the digital era requires students to possess critical thinking and crisis analysis skills to respond effectively to issues, crises, and reputation challenges. However, learning evaluation results indicated that students of the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Selamat Sri still demonstrated relatively low capability in analyzing crisis cases. This study aimed to improve students’ crisis analysis and critical thinking skills through the implementation of the Case Based Learning (CBL) method. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through crisis analysis tests, observations, documentation, interviews, and student reflections. The findings showed an improvement in students’ average scores from 68.4 in the pre-action stage to 85.3 in Cycle II, while learning mastery increased from 40.6% to 87.5%. In addition, students’ active participation during the learning process also increased. These findings indicate that Case Based Learning is effective in enhancing students’ crisis analysis abilities and critical thinking skills and is relevant for practice-oriented learning implementation in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of pre-Islamic religious systems in the Indonesian archipelago and to analyze the cultural characteristics that emerged from these beliefs. The main issue examined is how indigenous belief systems, such as animism and dynamism, integrated with Hindu-Buddhist influences to shape a unique cultural identity prior to the arrival of Islam. This research employed a qualitative method with historical and phenomenological approaches through a literature review of classical manuscripts and archaeological remains. The findings indicate that pre-Islamic communities in the archipelago exhibited a high degree of religious syncretism, in which local ancestor worship harmoniously blended with major religious traditions originating from India. These beliefs were manifested in distinctive cultural characteristics, including the construction of megalithic structures, the sacralization of nature, and complex communal rituals. The study concludes that these pre-Islamic foundations provided a strong cultural framework that later influenced the Islamization process, resulting in a distinctive form of Indonesian Islam characterized by pluralism and deeply rooted local wisdom

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the push-up training method on the speed of the jodan zuki punch among Shorinji Kempo kenshi at the Gorontalo State University Dojo. The research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 12 male kenshi selected through purposive sampling based on the criteria of being active practitioners and registered athletes. The research instruments included a handbox as the punching target and a stopwatch to measure the number of jodan zuki punches performed within 10 seconds. The push-up training program was conducted for six weeks with a frequency of three sessions per week, totaling 18 training sessions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and hypothesis testing through the Paired Samples t-Test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the mean speed of jodan zuki punches increased from 13.08 in the pre-test to 16.25 in the post-test, representing an improvement of 3.17 points or 24.24%. In addition, the standard deviation decreased from 2.81 to 2.52 and the variance decreased from 7.90 to 6.38, indicating greater homogeneity and consistency in athletes’ performance after completing the training program. The hypothesis testing results confirmed that the push-up training method had a significant effect on improving the speed of jodan zuki punches. Therefore, push-up training can be recommended as an effective, simple, and economical physical training method for enhancing punching performance in Shorinji Kempo athletes.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between lower limb muscle power and the frequency of roundhouse kicks among male MMA Pogogul athletes in Buol Regency, Central Sulawesi. The study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consisted of all male MMA Pogogul athletes in Buol Regency, totaling 9 athletes, all of whom were selected as the research sample using a total sampling technique. Lower limb muscle power was measured using the Standing Broad Jump test, while roundhouse kick frequency was assessed based on the number of kicks performed within 10 seconds. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation test. The results revealed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.624, indicating a positive relationship between lower limb muscle power and roundhouse kick frequency. These findings suggest that athletes with greater lower limb muscle power tend to perform roundhouse kicks at a higher frequency. However, the observed correlation did not reach statistical significance at the 5% significance level, as the calculated r value was lower than the critical r value. The coefficient of determination was 38.94%, indicating that lower limb muscle power contributed 38.94% to the variation in roundhouse kick frequency, while the remaining 61.06% was influenced by other factors, such as movement coordination, balance, flexibility, technical proficiency, and neuromuscular ability. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that lower limb muscle power has a positive relationship with roundhouse kick frequency, although the relationship is not statistically significant. These findings indicate that roundhouse kick performance is a multifactorial skill influenced by various physical and technical factors that interact simultaneously. Therefore, efforts to improve roundhouse kick performance should not only focus on enhancing lower limb muscle power but should also incorporate technical training, movement coordination, balance, flexibility, and speed endurance training.

Abstract

This article aimed to re-examine the development of Islamic civilization in the Nusantara through the lens of education during the Dutch colonial period. The colonial era was a crucial period in which Islamic education underwent a transformation from the traditional pesantren system into a more structured madrasah system as a response to the secular education policies of the Dutch East Indies government. Through a literature review of previous studies, it was found that Islamic education played a dual role: as an institution for religious transmission and as an instrument of cultural resistance. The results of the review indicated that discriminatory Dutch policies, such as the Teacher Ordinance and the Wild School Ordinance, in fact triggered internal modernization within Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama. Islamic civilization in the Nusantara during this period did not collapse; rather, it formed a new synthesis between traditional values and modern educational management, which became the foundation for Indonesia’s national education system after independence.
