Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of using the landslide hazard map of East Suwawa District as a visual learning tool for disaster mitigation in the Geography curriculum at State Senior High School 1 East Suwawa. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis of the Phase F Geography teaching module. The analysis examined the alignment of the map’s content with learning outcomes, learning objectives, disaster mitigation material, and classroom conditions at the school. The results indicate that disaster mitigation material is included in the Geography teaching module and is supported by the use of visual aids in the learning process. Based on the interview results, Geography teachers assessed that the landslide hazard map is relevant for use as a learning medium because it is capable of presenting spatial information directly related to the students’ surrounding environment. Additionally, the school has supporting facilities, such as an LCD screen and a projector, which enable the use of map media in learning activities. Thus, the landslide hazard map of East Suwawa Subdistrict is deemed suitable for use as a visual learning medium for disaster mitigation in the Geography subject.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the geomorphological conditions of Poduwoma and its surrounding areas, East Suwawa District, Bone Bolango Regency, through geological mapping at a scale of 1:10,000. Based on geomorphological analysis, the study area is divided into three main geomorphological units: the intrusive hill unit, the volcanic hill unit, and the fluvial floodplain unit. The drainage patterns are predominantly dendritic and parallel, reflecting relatively homogeneous lithological control and intensive erosional processes. Geologically, the study area is composed of two main lithological units, namely the diorite unit and the andesite unit. The diorite is characterized by a phaneritic texture with plagioclase, hornblende, biotite, and opaque minerals as its primary constituents, whereas the andesite exhibits aphanitic to porphyritic textures composed of plagioclase, hornblende, biotite, and a microcrystalline groundmass. Stratigraphic relationships indicate that the diorite represents the older rock unit, which was subsequently overlain by volcanic activity that produced the younger andesite unit. The results of this study indicate that the geological evolution of the area was controlled by volcanic arc magmatism, resulting in intermediate intrusive and extrusive rocks. The interaction between endogenous processes, particularly magmatism, and exogenous processes, mainly denudation, has produced the present-day hilly to mountainous landscape observed in the study area.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of the “My English Study” TikTok channel in improving the vocabulary mastery of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Tilongkabila. Using a quantitative one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design, the study involved 26 purposively selected students. Data were collected through objective tests assessing nouns and adjectives in descriptive texts and analyzed using a paired samples t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary achievement, with the mean score increasing from 40.92% in the pre-test (low category) to 74.92% in the post-test (high category). Adjective mastery reached 96.50% accuracy, while noun mastery improved to 57.97%. Statistical analysis revealed a t-value of 18.686 and a p-value of 0.000 (p 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. Therefore, the study concludes that the “My English Study” TikTok channel is an effective digital learning medium for enhancing vocabulary acquisition, motivation, and engagement among students.

Abstract

Basic drone technology training was conducted to improve Visual Communication Design (DKV) students' understanding and skills in recognizing and operating drones safely and effectively. Pre-test results showed that most students still had limited initial knowledge regarding drone components, flight principles, and safety procedures, and minimal practical experience. The training included an introduction to components, safety rules, flight features, and basic maneuvering practices. Post-test results showed significant improvements in conceptual understanding, mastery of technical terms, safety awareness, and student confidence. These findings confirm that practice-based learning is effective in improving drone technology literacy among DKV vocational high school students.

Abstract

Sandstone is a mixture or collection of rock fragments and mineral grains resulting from the natural erosion of various rock types. Changes and the presence of mineral grains in sandstone are strongly controlled by sedimentation processes during deposition, such as weathering in the source area, increasing distance and transport from the source area to the sedimentation environment, and diagenesis. This study aims to analyze the potential of sandstone in the Tudi area and its surroundings as a groundwater reservoir based on porosity and permeability analysis. This study used field geological mapping, porosity analysis, and permeability analysis. The sandstone units in the study area have varying porosities and permeabilities. Sample 15 BP has poor porosity, while sample 2 BP has good porosity. However, both samples have high permeability, indicating rapid water flow through them. The potential of sandstone in the study area as a reservoir rock in both samples is very good, as rapid fluid flow can accelerate the extraction or utilization process.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of grade X students in learning Anthroposphere material through case-based deep learning at SMAN 2 Konawe Selatan. The study involved 24 students and one geography teacher. Data were collected through classroom observation, case-based essay tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using triangulation of techniques and sources. The results show that the learning process reflected meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning. Students achieved an average score of 92.71, with all students categorized as very critical. The findings indicate that contextual cases can support students in interpreting geographic phenomena, analyzing causal relationships, drawing evidence-based conclusions, evaluating alternative solutions, and presenting reflective explanations of population and environmental issues.

Abstract

Tontayuo Village, Batudaa Pantai District, Gorontalo Regency is an area with hilly topography and morphological characteristics with variations in slope gradients as well as lithology and rainfall conditions that have the potential to trigger landslides. This study aims to analyze the lithology of study area and the level of landslide vulnerability in the area. The research methods include field geogogical mapping, secondary data processing, and spatial analysis based on Geographic Information System (GIS). Assessment of landslide vulnerability levels is based on slope gradient parameters, lithology types, rainfall, lineament density, and land cover. The results of the study show that the lithology that makes up the study area includes basalt, granodiorite, limestone, and alluvial units. Based ono the analysis results, the level of landslide vulnerability in the study area can be categorized into 3 (three) classes, namely, low landslide vulnerability class (29,93 ha), medium landslide vulnerability class (178,3 ha), and high landslide vulnerability class (197,38 ha).

Abstract

Mining activities require community empowerment efforts through the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) so that its benefits can be optimally felt by the communities surrounding the mine. This activity aims to increase community understanding of the PPM program in Barumadehe Village and Tabobo Village, Malifut District, North Halmahera Regency. The method used was participatory socialization to village heads and community leaders, followed by Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with the sub-district and the PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals CSR team. The results showed that the level of community understanding consisted of 12% understanding, 47% quite understanding, 39% not understanding, and 2% not understanding. The community has also felt the benefits of PPM in the fields of education, health, infrastructure, and religion. This activity is effective as an initial step in increasing community understanding.
