Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the marketing performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through structured assistance and the provision of promotional banners. The program focused on Teng-Teng and banana chip MSMEs located in Pasir Putih Village, Sinjai Borong District, which face common challenges related to limited promotion, branding, and market visibility. The assistance was implemented through direct involvement in the production process and the development of promotional media in the form of banners designed to represent product identity and attract consumer attention. The activities were conducted in three stages: initial socialization with local stakeholders, production assistance, and promotional support through banner installation. The assistance sessions took place on February 20 and March 3, 2023, followed by banner installation on March 20, 2023. The results indicate that the provision of banners as promotional media improved product visibility and strengthened brand recognition among the local community. Moreover, the assistance process increased MSME actors’ awareness of the importance of marketing strategies and product presentation in supporting business sustainability. This activity demonstrates that simple promotional interventions combined with mentoring can contribute positively to MSME marketing development, particularly in rural areas with limited access to formal marketing channels. The findings suggest that assistance-based promotional strategies can serve as an effective approach to support MSME competitiveness and income improvement.

Abstract

Business legality is a crucial foundation for strengthening the identity, credibility, and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in rural areas. Many MSME actors face obstacles in accessing formal legality due to limited knowledge and administrative capacity. This community service program aimed to empower MSMEs in Panaikang Village, East Sinjai District, through assistance in obtaining business legality, specifically the Business Identification Number (NIB) and Halal Certification. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of an initial survey, program socialization, data collection, training sessions, and direct assistance in issuing legal documents. The target group included MSME actors engaged in food processing, snacks, beverages, and local products. The results demonstrate a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of business legality, product packaging, and basic marketing strategies. Most MSME actors successfully obtained their NIB, while several culinary businesses proceeded to the halal certification application stage. This assistance also enhanced entrepreneurs’ confidence and readiness to expand market access, including participation in local MSME exhibitions. The program contributed to strengthening local economic potential and promoting sustainable community-based economic development. Overall, business legality assistance proved to be an effective empowerment strategy for improving MSME resilience, formalization, and competitiveness in rural communities. Continuous collaboration between universities, local governments, and supporting institutions is recommended to ensure sustainability and broader impact.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) play a strategic role in stimulating local economic development through the management of village-based potential resources, particularly in the tourism sector. Panaikang Village, located in Sinjai Timur District, South Sulawesi, possesses significant coastal tourism potential, notably Mallenreng Beach. However, limited managerial capacity and inadequate understanding of tourism management have constrained the optimal performance of BUMDes in managing this destination. This community empowerment program aimed to strengthen the managerial capacity of BUMDes and local communities in managing Mallenreng Beach as a sustainable village tourism destination. The program was implemented through a participatory approach involving initial field surveys, problem identification, socialization, and capacity-building training activities conducted by the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) in collaboration with community service students. The activities focused on tourism management principles, destination branding, community involvement, and sustainable development strategies. The results indicate improved awareness and understanding among BUMDes managers and community members regarding tourism governance, resource utilization, and the importance of integrated management practices. Furthermore, the program contributed to the formulation of a tourism development concept emphasizing the sunrise attraction of Mallenreng Beach and supported the village’s participation in the 2023 National Tourism Village Competition. This empowerment initiative demonstrates that strengthening institutional capacity and community participation can enhance the competitiveness of village tourism, stimulate local economic growth, and support the achievement of sustainable development goals. Continuous mentoring and collaboration with higher education institutions are recommended to ensure long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Human Capital Transformation (HCT) as a strategic intervention to address workload disparities and improve employee discipline at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD) of Takalar Regency. The main issues identified include unequal workload distribution—resulting in simultaneous conditions of overload and underload—as well as suboptimal employee discipline, particularly in terms of compliance with working hours and punctuality. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with leaders and staff, observations, and document analysis, including policies on Workload Analysis (ABK) and the Performance Allowance (TPP) system. The findings indicate that the Human Capital Transformation implemented by BKAD is realized through two key mechanisms. First, the integration of ABK into the e-performance system and TPP, which significantly minimizes workload disparities by ensuring measurable and equitable task distribution. Second, the consistent enforcement of discipline based on digital data (electronic attendance), supported by the transparent application of sanctions and rewards in accordance with Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021. This transformation has proven to be a catalyst in creating a productive, performance-based, and integrity-driven work environment. The study concludes that Human Capital Transformation is a fundamental prerequisite for public sector organizations to achieve accountability and efficiency.

Abstract

This study examines Muhammadiyah as a manifestation of Progressive Islam (Islam Berkemajuan), emphasizing its role as a reformist Islamic movement in responding to the challenges of modernity, globalization, and socio-cultural change in Indonesia. Founded in 1912 by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, Muhammadiyah has consistently promoted tajdid (renewal) as both purification of Islamic teachings based on the Qur’an and Sunnah and constructive development through rational, contextual, and future-oriented interpretations of Islam. Using a qualitative descriptive and literature-based approach, this paper analyzes the historical evolution, ideological foundations, and practical expressions of Progressive Islam within Muhammadiyah. The findings indicate that Muhammadiyah’s commitment to education, social services, healthcare, and economic empowerment demonstrates a balanced integration of religious values and modern knowledge. The movement’s emphasis on rationality, moderation, and ethical social engagement has enabled Muhammadiyah to function as an agent of social transformation and national development. Furthermore, the concept of Progressive Islam reflects Muhammadiyah’s adaptive capacity to maintain Islamic authenticity while engaging constructively with contemporary issues, including technological advancement and global interaction. This study concludes that Muhammadiyah represents a distinctive model of Progressive Islam that contributes significantly to the development of a just, prosperous, and dignified society, reinforcing its relevance as a modern Islamic movement in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

Worship (ibadah) constitutes the core of Islamic teachings and serves as a comprehensive expression of faith that extends beyond ritual practices. This article aims to explore the role of ibadah in shaping ethical and spiritual life in Islam by emphasizing its holistic nature, which integrates spiritual devotion, moral discipline, and social responsibility. Using a qualitative conceptual approach, this study draws upon classical and contemporary Islamic sources, including Qur’anic verses, Prophetic traditions, and the scholarly works of Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Ghazali, Fazlur Rahman, and Quraish Shihab. The analysis reveals that ibadah in Islam encompasses both ritual and non-ritual dimensions, encompassing acts of worship performed through the heart, speech, physical actions, and the use of wealth, all of which are guided by sincere intention (niyyah). These practices function not only as means of spiritual connection with God but also as mechanisms for cultivating ethical awareness, self-discipline, social solidarity, and responsible conduct in everyday life. Furthermore, the study highlights the contemporary relevance of ibadah in addressing moral and spiritual challenges associated with modernity, such as materialism, individualism, and the erosion of ethical values. By framing ibadah as a form of worship that transcends ritual boundaries, this article contributes to a deeper understanding of Islamic worship as a foundational element in fostering ethical integrity and spiritual well-being within modern Muslim society

Abstract

Children are an integral part of the nation’s future and therefore require special legal protection, particularly when they come into conflict with the law. Juvenile involvement in criminal offenses presents complex legal and social challenges, as children have not yet reached full psychological and emotional maturity. This study aims to examine the legal concept of juvenile criminal responsibility in Indonesia, identify the factors influencing children to commit criminal acts, and analyze the legal framework governing juvenile offenders under the Indonesian Juvenile Justice System. This research employs a normative legal research method with a literature-based approach, utilizing secondary data derived from statutory regulations, legal doctrines, court decisions, and relevant scholarly literature. The data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively to provide a comprehensive legal interpretation. The findings indicate that juvenile criminal behavior is influenced by multiple interrelated factors, including economic hardship, family dysfunction, social environment, educational deficiencies, weak law enforcement, psychological vulnerability, and individual characteristics. Furthermore, Indonesian law, particularly Law Number 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, emphasizes restorative justice and diversion as the primary approaches in handling juvenile cases. These mechanisms prioritize rehabilitation, social reintegration, and the best interests of the child rather than punitive measures. The study concludes that effective juvenile crime prevention and control require an integrated approach involving law enforcement agencies, families, educational institutions, and the community. Strengthening the implementation of diversion and restorative justice is essential to ensure legal protection while fostering the moral and social development of children

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic bank green financing in enhancing the sustainability performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by integrating external and internal determinants. Specifically, it examines the effects of access to Islamic green financing, Islamic green financial literacy, and environmental commitment on the sustainability performance of culinary MSMEs in Semarang City, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative explanatory research design, primary data were collected from 150 MSMEs selected using the Slovin formula from a population of 240 enterprises. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The empirical findings reveal that access to Islamic green financing, Islamic green financial literacy, and environmental commitment each have a positive and statistically significant effect on MSMEs’ sustainability performance, both individually and simultaneously. Among these factors, Islamic green financial literacy emerges as the most dominant determinant, indicating that knowledge and understanding of Sharia-compliant green finance play a critical role in translating financial access into sustainable business practices. The results suggest that the effectiveness of Islamic green financing is not solely dependent on the availability of funds, but also on MSMEs’ financial capabilities and commitment to environmental responsibility. This study contributes to the literature on sustainable Islamic finance by providing empirical evidence from the MSME sector in a developing economy context. Practically, the findings offer insights for Islamic banks and policymakers in designing more inclusive green financing schemes accompanied by financial literacy and environmental capacity-building programs to support sustainable MSME development.

Abstract

Legal politics constitutes the fundamental state policy that determines the direction, substance, and implementation of law in order to achieve national objectives. In the Indonesian constitutional system, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia serves as the supreme legal foundation guiding the formulation and development of national legal politics. This study examines legal politics from the perspective of the 1945 Constitution and analyzes its implications for the formation of national law. Employing a normative legal research method, this study applies statutory, conceptual, and historical approaches by analyzing constitutional provisions, legislation, legal doctrines, and scholarly opinions. The findings reveal that the 1945 Constitution provides normative guidance and clear limitations for national legal politics, particularly in upholding the principles of the rule of law, democracy, constitutional supremacy, and the protection of human rights. The Constitution not only functions as the highest legal norm but also as a philosophical and juridical framework that directs legal policy toward achieving justice, legal certainty, and social welfare. Furthermore, legal politics grounded in constitutional values significantly influences the substance of legislation, the legislative process, and mechanisms of constitutional review. A constitutional-oriented legal politics ensures that laws are formulated in a democratic, participatory, and accountable manner while remaining consistent with the objectives of the state as stipulated in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, strengthening constitutional compliance in legal politics is essential to develop a just, responsive, and socially equitable national legal system in Indonesia
