Abstract

The Marketing Strategy Training for Processed Palm Sugar Products aims to enhance partners' knowledge and strengthen the capacity of business actors in marketing their products effectively and competitively. Processed palm sugar products, such as palm sugar, syrup, and fermented beverages, have significant market potential due to their natural composition and high nutritional value. However, many business actors face challenges, including a lack of understanding of modern marketing strategies, limited product innovation, and restricted market access. This training covers essential topics such as marketing fundamentals, branding strategies, digital marketing, product and packaging innovation, and distribution management. Participants learn how to build a strong brand, leverage social media and online marketplaces for promotion, and develop a structured marketing plan. Through an interactive approach, participants engage in simulations and group discussions to apply the knowledge they have acquired. The training results indicate an improvement in participants' understanding of marketing principles, their ability to innovate products, and their skills in utilizing digital technology to expand market reach. This initiative is expected to help business actors enhance the competitiveness of processed palm sugar products, broaden their marketing networks, and contribute to local economic growth.

Abstract

The limited availability of land, low financial capacity, and minimal agricultural investment are significant challenges faced by young farmers. In response, hydroponic vegetable cultivation presents an innovative and efficient solution, allowing crops to be grown without requiring large areas of land or substantial capital. This method is particularly advantageous for urban and semi-urban communities where space constraints limit traditional farming practices. This community service program aims to enhance household income by promoting simple hydroponic vegetable farming as a sustainable agricultural practice. The implementation method consists of structured training and practical application, where participants learn fundamental hydroponic concepts, including seed sowing, nutrient management, and plant maintenance. Through hands-on experience, participants gain the necessary skills to establish and manage small-scale hydroponic systems in their home environments. The results of the program show a positive response from the community, with many participants successfully applying their newly acquired knowledge to start home-based hydroponic vegetable cultivation. This initiative contributes to household food security while also creating opportunities for additional income generation. By efficiently utilizing available space, community members can produce fresh vegetables for both personal consumption and local markets, supporting economic resilience and sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

Tilapia fish cultivation using the biofloc system in Paccerakkang Village, Makassar City, utilizes tarpaulin ponds to efficiently manage costs and ensure water quality. These ponds are portable, maintain stable temperatures, and offer easier tilapia management than traditional cement ponds. However, farmers face challenges such as limited knowledge and skills in biofloc-based tilapia farming, improper cultivation practices, and inadequate financial management. To address these issues, a community service initiative was implemented, focusing on training, counseling, and guidance in biofloc tilapia farming. The training aimed to enhance participants' understanding of proper seed selection, water quality management, disease prevention, and efficient financial record-keeping. The biofloc system, which transforms fish waste into natural feed through probiotic action, was highlighted as an effective cultivation method. The activity provided hands-on learning and support in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages of tilapia farming. As a result, participants gained knowledge and improved practices, leading to better fish growth and increased income. Harvested tilapia are either sold to collectors or consumed by the farmers. This training significantly boosted local participation in biofloc-based tilapia farming and contributed to enhanced community livelihoods

Abstract

Embedding Islamic entrepreneurship values from an early age plays a crucial role in shaping children's character and mentality, preparing them to face future economic challenges. Islamic entrepreneurship education not only teaches business skills but also instills strong ethics and morals. Teaching entrepreneurship from an early age helps children develop creativity, innovation, and independence—important qualities in the business world. It also cultivates resilience and risk management abilities, key factors for success in entrepreneurship. Islamic entrepreneurship emphasizes operating businesses with honesty, fairness, and responsibility. Children who learn these values early will grow into entrepreneurs who achieve financial success with high integrity and ethics. They will understand that profit is not the sole objective of business but also the benefit it brings to society and the environment. Additionally, entrepreneurship education helps children avoid consumerist habits by understanding the production process and appreciating the value of goods. Through entrepreneurial activities, they will also develop social and communication skills. This study aims to introduce Islamic entrepreneurship to children at the Ummu Aiman Aisyiyah Orphanage, Mamajang Branch, Makassar City, fostering economic independence and encouraging entrepreneurship driven by both profit and spiritual fulfillment.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the used car trading sector in Makassar City has not been matched by sufficient digital marketing competencies among its business actors. This community service activity aims to strengthen the digital capacity of the Turbo Car Community through structured training and mentoring in social media-based marketing strategies. Conducted over two days in Malino City, the program included digital marketing workshops and hands-on practice in utilizing Facebook Marketplace and Instagram. A preliminary survey was undertaken to assess participants’ initial digital literacy and identify promotional barriers. The training sessions introduced participants to key concepts of digital marketing, digital consumer behavior, and content strategy, followed by guided mentoring to create and manage online promotional content. Direct assistance was provided to six selected showrooms in optimizing their online presence. The results demonstrated a marked improvement in participants’ understanding, confidence, and ability to independently implement digital marketing strategies. Furthermore, the use of digital platforms proved effective in expanding market reach, increasing sales potential, and enhancing customer engagement. This initiative represents a strategic step in accelerating digital transformation among micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the automotive sector and can serve as a replicable model for similar business communities across Indonesia. The long-term expectation is to foster continuous innovation and sustainability in digital marketing practices within local economies.

Abstract

This community service project in Tangru Village, Enrekang Regency, aimed to strengthen the financial management capacity of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and optimize the village's agricultural potential, particularly in shallot cultivation. The program involved outreach, technical counseling on cultivation practices, development of BUMDes products such as eco-friendly pesticides, and training in financial management and basic marketing strategies. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative data was used, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a notable improvement in farmers’ knowledge and practices related to shallot cultivation and enhanced accuracy in BUMDes financial records. These findings reflect increased community awareness of sustainable agricultural practices and financial governance. However, gaps remain in advanced accounting skills and effective marketing strategies, suggesting the need for further training and support. This program demonstrates that integrated community empowerment efforts can build foundational capacity, but sustained follow-up is essential to ensure long-term impact and institutional sustainability.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a fundamental life skill that needs to be introduced from an early age to foster responsible financial behavior. In Indonesia, the financial literacy index remains relatively low, particularly among children, which highlights the urgency of providing practical and engaging financial education at the elementary level. This community service program was designed to enhance the financial literacy and saving spirit of third-grade students at Muhammadiyah Perumnas Elementary School, Makassar. A total of 21 students participated in a two-hour interactive session employing a combination of lectures, evaluative quizzes, and the distribution of learning tools such as saving-target piggy banks. The educational content covered the definition of financial literacy, the concept and benefits of saving, distinguishing needs from wants, and simple saving methods. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ understanding of core financial concepts. The active participation and enthusiasm displayed by the students indicated that the methods used were effective in increasing awareness and encouraging positive financial habits. Furthermore, the program successfully instilled motivation for saving by providing tangible tools that supported daily practice. These results suggest that financial education at the primary school level can lay a strong foundation for long-term financial responsibility and independence. Broader implementation of similar initiatives is recommended to support national efforts in improving financial literacy and to prepare younger generations for future economic challenges.
