Abstract

A clean and healthy school environment involves not only physical cleanliness but also balanced nutrition, physical activity, and attention to students’ mental and emotional well-being. This study aims to examine the management of facilities and infrastructure in implementing a healthy school program at SD Negeri Tempel Surakarta. A qualitative case study approach was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Non-participatory observation was applied, in which the researcher observed activities without direct involvement, complemented by interviews and documentation of healthy school practices. The findings indicate that the school has demonstrated effective and creative management of facilities and infrastructure to support the realization of a healthy school environment. Strong commitment from the principal and teachers further reinforces this effort. However, challenges remain, as some students still tend to dispose of waste improperly and rarely wash their hands. These issues may be addressed through consistent guidance, regular practice, and sustained motivation to encourage healthier habits.

Abstract

The quality of education in Indonesia is currently experiencing a notable decline. According to the latest Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 results, Indonesia ranks 68th out of 81 participating countries. This study aims to examine the achievement of standard management indicators for educators and education personnel as part of efforts to improve education quality at SDN Mojokerto 3. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research instrument consisted of nineteen standard indicators related to educators and education personnel. The study involved teachers and staff at SDN Mojokerto 3 to assess the school’s alignment with the eight national education standards. Findings reveal that several key indicators have not been optimally implemented. Most teachers lack teaching certification, the school does not employ a guidance counselor, administrative head, or librarian, and it lacks both a laboratory and designated laboratory staff.

Abstract

The digital era has profoundly transformed communication and social interaction patterns, particularly among Generation Alpha (born 2010–2025), who have been exposed to gadgets since early childhood. This study aims to analyze both the positive and negative impacts of gadget use on communication skills, social interaction, and the balance between digital engagement and real-life experiences. Using a systematic literature review method, data were obtained from accredited journals and scholarly publications that discuss the influence of gadget use among Generation Alpha. The analysis employed thematic and comparative approaches to identify patterns, similarities, and gaps across previous studies. The findings indicate that gadgets offer significant educational and informational benefits, promoting global connectivity and cognitive development. However, excessive use has led to digital dependency, reduced empathy, and diminished face-to-face interactions, which threaten social balance. This study contributes conceptually by positioning technology as a dual agent, both a catalyst for social learning and a potential disruptor of emotional development. The results highlight the need for digital literacy programs, structured screen-time management, and strengthened interpersonal engagement as key strategies for maintaining social and emotional well-being among Generation Alpha.

Abstract

This community service program aims to promote positive discipline among elementary school students by fostering the habit of performing Dhuha prayers in congregation. The method used is a participatory approach, with teachers actively assisting students, and photo documentation is used as observation material during the activities carried out directly in the school environment. This activity is participated in by all students from grades 1 to 6. The results of the activity show an improvement in student discipline, especially in punctuality, personal and environmental cleanliness, and polite and orderly behaviour during Dhuha prayers. In addition, students become more aware of their spiritual and religious responsibilities at school. Through the routine practice of worship, this activity can also strengthen the relationship between teachers and students and create a religious and conducive learning atmosphere. This program is expected to be implemented continuously with the support of the school and teachers to cultivate a positive discipline culture and religious character in students from an early age. In addition, the habitual practice of performing congregational Dhuha prayers also serves as a means for comprehensive character development of students, instilling values of responsibility, obedience to rules, cooperation, and exemplary behaviour through religious activities carried out together in the school environment.

Abstract

This article examines strategies for basic mathematics learning, particularly counting, designed to be enjoyable through the utilization of marbles as visual and interactive tools. The research aims to analyze enjoyable counting learning strategies using marbles to enhance engagement, motivation, and understanding of basic numeracy concepts among early elementary school children. The method employed is a descriptive, qualitative approach, with in-depth interviews with teachers and students. The results indicate that marbles provide contextual and enjoyable learning experiences that encourage counting activities and align with constructivist and game-based learning theories. This strategy also contributes to the development of affective aspects such as self-confidence and cooperation. In conclusion, this strategy proves effective as an innovative alternative in early mathematics education, with recommendations for broader implementation in school curricula for more inclusive and engaging learning methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how digital literacy contributes to improving the learning outcomes of Generation Alpha students at SDN 46 Songing. Generation Alpha (born around 2010 onwards) has grown up in a technology-rich environment; however, familiarity with digital devices does not necessarily indicate adequate digital literacy. In this study, digital literacy is defined as students’ ability to access, evaluate, and use digital information critically and responsibly. The research employed a qualitative, descriptive approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, structured interviews, and document analysis, including students’ academic score records, involving the principal, teachers, and students as informants. Data were analyzed inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings show that digital literacy was implemented through digital presentations (PowerPoint/Canva), audio-visual media (Smart TV/YouTube), and educational quizzes/games (Quizizz, Baamboozle). These practices increased student engagement, supported concept visualization, and positively influenced learning outcomes, although implementation was constrained by limited infrastructure and the need for teacher training.

Abstract

Pedagogical competence is a fundamental element of teacher professionalism, particularly in efforts to improve the quality of learning in schools. In the context of 21st-century education, teachers are required to design student-centered, reflective, and adaptive learning environments oriented toward improving learning outcomes. This article aims to review various studies regarding the development of teachers' pedagogical competence through reflective practices and the implementation of lesson study. The method used is a systematic literature review, with articles sourced from Google Scholar, SINTA, DOAJ, and Garuda databases published between 2015 and 2025. The findings indicate that reflection strengthens a teacher's ability to evaluate the teaching process, while lesson study provides a collaborative space to develop effective learning strategies. The primary findings demonstrate that the integration of both not only enhances the quality of lesson planning and implementation but also has implications for increasing student learning motivation, strengthening professional collaboration culture, and fostering sustainable pedagogical innovation. This study confirms that reflection and lesson study are powerful strategies for supporting the development of teachers' pedagogical competence and need to be implemented systematically in both formal education and professional teacher development.
