Abstract

The development of digital technology and cultural globalization have brought fundamental changes to the mindset, behavior, and value systems of young Muslims, particularly Generation Z. These changes have given rise to various contemporary issues in the areas of faith and morality, including weak digital ethics, the strengthening of a culture of hedonism, and moral degradation. This article aims to analyze in-depth contemporary issues of faith and morality related to digital ethics, hedonism, and the morality of Generation Z, and to formulate Islamic educational solutions relevant to the current context. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach through analysis of classic and contemporary books, scientific journals, and relevant documents in the fields of faith and morality and Islamic education. The results indicate that weak internalization of faith and moral values is a major factor in the emergence of moral deviations in the digital era. Therefore, strengthening monotheism, cultivating noble morals, Islamic digital ethics education, and synergy between families, schools, and communities are strategic solutions in shaping the character of Generation Z to be faithful, moral, and wise in utilizing technology. The abstracts submitted to As-Sulthan Journal Of Education should be clear, concise, and descriptive, using English and Indonesian, which consists of 150-200 words. The abstract contains the scope of the study, objectives, methods, research results, and conclusions. This section is separate from articles, using single space, Book Antiqua 10,  single space.

Abstract

Aqidah Akhlak learning plays a strategic role in shaping students’ faith and moral character in an integrated manner. However, evaluation practices in Aqidah Akhlak learning have predominantly emphasized the cognitive domain, while the affective and psychomotor domains have not been assessed proportionally. This article aims to conceptually reconstruct the evaluation of Aqidah Akhlak learning based on the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study employed a qualitative approach through a library research method by examining relevant scholarly literature, including books and peer-reviewed journal articles on learning evaluation and Islamic education. The findings indicate that the evaluation of Aqidah Akhlak learning should be designed comprehensively by assessing students’ understanding of aqidah concepts (cognitive), the internalization of religious values and attitudes (affective), and the practical manifestation of moral behavior in daily life (psychomotor). This conceptual reconstruction emphasizes that the success of Aqidah Akhlak learning should not be measured solely by knowledge acquisition but also by the formation of students’ attitudes and behaviors that reflect Islamic values. Therefore, holistic evaluation serves as a fundamental foundation for achieving the overarching objectives of Aqidah Akhlak education.

Abstract

Prosocial behavior, which includes the act of helping others without expecting anything in return, is very important in building the character of students in Islamic boarding schools. This article discusses how leadership training programs can help students develop prosocial behavior. Through a qualitative approach, this study shows that leadership training not only increases students' awareness of the importance of helping others, but also provides the necessary skills to contribute positively in society. The results of the study show that students who participate in this program are more active in social activities and have a better understanding of leadership values. In addition, this program encourages students to internalize the values of empathy, responsibility, cooperation, and effective communication. The training process also strengthens students' ability to solve problems collectively, make wise decisions, and motivate peers to behave positively. Thus, leadership training has proven to be an effective strategy to shape the social character of students and prepare them to become agents of change in the pesantren environment and the wider community.

Abstract

This study examines the internalization of Islamic creed (aqidah) values in shaping the character of contemporary Muslims. Aqidah serves as the fundamental foundation that directs Muslims’ beliefs, attitudes, and moral behavior. This article aims to analyze how the core values of Islamic creed—particularly tauhid, iman, kufr, and nifaq—are internalized and function as moral guidance in the context of modern life. This research employs a qualitative library research method by analyzing classical and contemporary Islamic literature, the Qur’an, and prophetic traditions (hadith). The findings reveal that the internalization of aqidah values strengthens spiritual awareness, moral integrity, and consistency between belief and action among Muslims. Moreover, a proper understanding of aqidah plays a strategic role in protecting individuals from moral degradation and ideological challenges emerging in the modern era. Therefore, strengthening the internalization of Islamic creed values is essential to develop Muslim character that is faithful, ethical, and resilient in facing contemporary social challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the branding migration strategies of educational institutions in transforming their identity from an academic-oriented focus to career-ready readiness as an integrative solution to face labor market disruptions. Using a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design, this research designates SMKN 1 Tegalsari as the material object through data collection techniques such as systematic observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with key informants selected purposively, including school management, teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that branding migration is carried out through three fundamental strategies: an epistemological shift that positions hard skills as the main branding currency, the implementation of micro-influencing strategies through students’ digital portfolios to build an organic narrative, and the utilization of the Teaching Factory ecosystem as evidence of authentic service reality. Theoretically, this study contributes to strengthening the literature on User-Generated Content and Experiential Marketing in the education sector, while practically providing strategic guidance for vocational institution managers in repositioning their identity to enhance brand equity and public trust amid global economic uncertainty.

Abstract

Decentralization of education regulations is a strategic policy within Indonesia's national education system, aiming to grant greater authority to regions to manage education according to local needs and characteristics. Irman Gusman's thinking emphasizes the importance of regional independence as a prerequisite for achieving equity and improving the quality of national education. However, in practice, educational decentralization still faces various problems, such as imbalances in regional capacity, overlapping regulations, and weak coordination between the central and regional governments. This study aims to examine Irman Gusman's thinking on decentralization of education regulations and their relevance in realizing regional independence within the national education system. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, literature studies, and analysis of education policy documents. The results show that Irman Gusman's thinking emphasizes decentralization as an effort to strengthen the role of regions in formulating education policies, increasing community participation, and optimizing local potential. He believes that decentralization of education regulations must be accompanied by strengthening regional institutional capacity and proportional oversight from the central government. The conclusion of this study states that Irman Gusman's thinking is relevant in the context of national education development, particularly in promoting regional independence, provided it is supported by clear regulations, adequate human resources, and synergy between stakeholders.

Abstract

This study explores the goals of education from the perspective of the Qur’an and Hadith, emphasizing the theological foundations, value concepts, and their relevance to the needs of Islamic education in the modern era. The research highlights that education in Islam is not merely focused on the acquisition of knowledge but also on character formation, intellectual development, and the strengthening of faith and piety toward Allah SWT. The Qur’an, through verses such as Al-‘Alaq: 1–5 and Adz-Dzariyat: 56, provides a philosophical framework that views education as an integral process combining spirituality and rationality. Meanwhile, the Hadith reinforces that knowledge must lead to humility and goodness that benefits humanity. The findings indicate that the objectives of Islamic education encompass four core aspects: aqidah (faith), ibadah (worship), akhlak (morality), and muamalah (social relations). These four dimensions serve as the foundation for forming Islamic character capable of adapting to global challenges without losing spiritual values. Therefore, Islamic education remains relevant and essential in building a civilized society in the midst of the digital era’s dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of assessment instruments, focusing on scoring and grade determination in the learning process. Assessment instruments are essential components of educational evaluation as they function to measure the achievement of students’ competencies. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using documentation and literature review as data collection techniques. The analyzed data included assessment instruments, scoring rubrics, and grading procedures used by teachers. The results indicate that the assessment instruments were developed based on learning indicators; however, they did not fully meet the principles of validity and reliability. Weaknesses were found in the clarity of scoring criteria and the consistency of score assignment. In addition, grade determination tended to be administrative and had not been optimally utilized as feedback for learning improvement. Therefore, a systematic analysis of assessment instruments is necessary to enhance objectivity, fairness, and accuracy in assessment results. This study is expected to contribute to improving the quality of educational assessment practices.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is a fundamental aspect of English language learning for children, as it serves as the foundation for developing other language skills. However, phonological differences between Indonesian and English often cause difficulties in reading and pronunciation. This article aims to examine the role of the syllabic method in developing children’s English vocabulary through a Community Service Program (PKM) using a Small Group Study approach. The program was conducted in Tenam Village, Muara Bulian District, Batang Hari Regency, involving 3 out of 15 children who experienced difficulties in reading and pronouncing English vocabulary. The method employed consisted of training and mentoring conducted over nine meetings, encompassing preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results indicate that the application of the syllabic method improved children’s reading, writing, and pronunciation skills, with the most significant improvement observed in pronunciation. These findings suggest that the syllabic method is an effective and appropriate approach for enhancing English vocabulary learning among young learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using a language laboratory to improve Arabic listening skills (Maharah Istima') among students. The conventional teaching of listening skills often faces challenges due to the lack of engaging media, resulting in suboptimal student comprehension. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving a pre-test and post-test control group. The research was conducted at Ma'had Darul Lughah wad Da'wah, Pasuruan, with a sample of 40 first-grade Aliyah students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests, and then analyzed using the t-test formula. The findings revealed a significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group achieved a mean post-test score of 72 (categorized as Good), while the control group scored 59 (categorized as Poor). The t-test analysis showed that the t-count (5.37) was higher than the t-table (2.09) at a 5% significance level. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of a language laboratory is effective and significantly improves students' Arabic listening skills compared to conventional methods.
