Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of student creativity in accounting subjects among Grade XI IPS 1 students at SMA Kristen Trana, TNS District, Central Maluku Regency. Creativity is a crucial aspect in accounting learning, as it encourages students to think critically, find innovative solutions, and develop a deeper understanding of concepts. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection tools. The results indicate that student creativity ranges from moderate to high. This is evident in their ability to generate ideas, solve accounting case studies, and present financial reports using varied and engaging formats. Several factors support student creativity, including the use of project-based learning, teacher encouragement for exploration, and students’ intrinsic motivation. However, limitations such as restricted access to technology and interactive learning resources hinder the full development of students' potential. The study recommends innovating accounting instructional strategies to better foster creativity and improving school facilities to support a more creative and productive learning environment.

Abstract

Bank financial performance is crucial for supporting economic stability and the smooth functioning of financial intermediation. This study aims to analyze the growth of banking financial performance on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016–2018 using the CAMEL analysis, which includes capital, asset quality, management effectiveness, earnings, and liquidity. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method, utilizing secondary data from the annual financial reports of 35 banks selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that the growth of banking financial performance varies across each CAMEL aspect. Some banks showed positive growth in capital, management effectiveness, and liquidity, but not all were able to consistently reduce the risk of non-performing loans. These findings illustrate that financial performance among Indonesian banks is still uneven and optimization in risk management and operational efficiency is needed. The implication is that banks must strengthen their capital base and enhance risk management systems to maintain competitiveness and foster sustainable growth in the banking industry

Abstract

The quality of lesson planning by teachers is a crucial factor in enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process at schools. This study aims to analyze the extent to which grade XI economics teachers at SMA Negeri 11 Ambon are able to design lesson plans that align with educational standards. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing syllabus and lesson plan documents prepared by the economics teacher. The assessment was based on six main indicators: determining learning objectives, developing materials and media, organizing learning scenarios, managing the classroom, planning assessments, and document presentation. The results showed that the teacher was able to design lesson plans well, as indicated by the average score that nearly reached the “very good” category. These findings highlight the importance of lesson planning skills in supporting the effective achievement of learning objectives. The implication is that teachers should receive ongoing training and regular evaluations so that the quality of lesson planning continues to improve and can serve as a model of best practice for other schools

The competition among cosmetic products for teenage girls is intensifying, encouraging consumer behavior to seek variety and frequently switch brands. This study aims to analyze the influence of Variety Seeking behavior on Brand Switching of cosmetic products among teenage girls in Hatalai Village. The research employed a quantitative approach using questionnaires distributed to young female respondents. Data were tested for validity, reliability, and analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results indicate that Variety Seeking behavior—including the desire to try new products, the need for variety, and perceived differences among brands—significantly affects cosmetic brand switching. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Card Sort learning method on students' learning outcomes in Economics for Grade XI IIS at SMA Negeri 2 Tual. The research is grounded in the need for varied learning strategies to improve students’ understanding of both conceptual and applied economic content. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The population consisted of all Grade XI IIS students, with two randomly selected classes as samples: the experimental class applying the Card Sort method, and the control class using conventional learning methods. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to assess student learning outcomes. The results indicate a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes. Students taught using the Card Sort method showed improved concept mastery, active participation in learning, and better collaboration skills. These findings demonstrate that the Card Sort method is effective in enhancing economics learning outcomes. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers adopt this method more broadly as an alternative active learning strategy to improve classroom learning quality

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of metacognitive strategies on the learning outcomes of Grade XI Social Studies students in Economics at SMA Negeri 8 Ambon during the pandemic. Metacognitive strategies were selected for their ability to help students recognize, control, and evaluate their own thinking processes—an essential skill in remote learning environments that require high autonomy. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample included two classes: an experimental group using metacognitive strategies and a control group employing conventional methods. Instruments included a multiple-choice learning outcomes test and an observation sheet for student learning activities. The results show that the application of metacognitive strategies significantly improves students' learning outcomes. It also enhances student engagement, reflective thinking, and decision-making in solving economics problems. The study recommends that teachers incorporate more metacognitive strategies into the teaching process, especially in online or hybrid learning settings

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teaching strategies employed by lecturers in the Introduction to Accounting I course, particularly on the topic of the Accounting Cycle, within the Economics Education Study Program at FKIP Pattimura University. The course is complex and requires students to systematically understand the stages of the accounting process. A qualitative descriptive method was used, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the teaching strategies include interactive lectures, group discussions, problem-solving exercises, and the use of visual media such as slides and videos. These strategies are considered effective in helping students grasp basic accounting concepts and map out the accounting cycle from transaction recording to financial statement preparation. Active student participation in discussions and hands-on practice plays a crucial role in improving learning outcomes. However, challenges remain in diversifying instructional approaches and integrating educational technology. The study recommends enhancing lecturers' pedagogical competencies and developing digital-based teaching methods to improve the quality of accounting education in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Affective assessment plays a vital role in shaping student attitudes but is often neglected in practice because teachers predominantly focus on cognitive aspects. This study aims to describe the implementation of affective assessment in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 6 Ambon. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was employed, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of lesson plans and assessment instruments. The main findings indicate that affective assessment planning exists in lesson plans but is limited to observational sheets used by teachers. Students' spiritual and social attitudes were generally good, evident through prayer, greetings, cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and communication skills during group discussions. This research provides an in-depth description of the relationship between affective assessment planning and its actual implementation. The implications suggest a need for teacher training in developing comprehensive affective assessment instruments, and it is recommended that schools facilitate improving teachers' competencies to implement affective assessments consistently and comprehensively
