Informants are determined through purposive sampling, where the researcher intentionally selects based on predetermined criteria set according to the research objectives. Data is collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study explain that the impact of mining on community behavior is that socially, there has been a significant change in the social structure, tensions, and conflicts due to role shifts and injustices in the distribution of mining profits, which trigger polarization, mistrust, changes in communication patterns, as well as increased violence and aggression. Economically, the community experiences changes in livelihoods, with many transitioning to become miners, and an increase in income that affects changes in consumption patterns, lifestyles, and social status symbols. Factors influencing the emergence of the socio-economic behavior of communities around mining include the economic impact of mining, migration and urbanization, environmental impacts, and cultural and value influences.

Abstract

This study aims to see how the application of sweetened beverage excise can be an effective policy instrument in controlling the consumption of sugary drinks and reducing adverse health impacts on people in Indonesia. This study uses a systematic review approach by analyzing various literature and data related to the sweetened beverage excise policy and its impact on public health. Data was collected from a variety of primary and secondary sources, including scientific journal articles, government reports, case studies of policy implementation in different countries, and health survey data. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by identifying the main themes related to health impacts, health burdens, and the effectiveness of the implementation of sweetened beverage excise policies in various countries. The results of the analysis show that the optimal excise tariff structure for sweetened beverages can be applied based on the sweetener content in the product. A progressive approach, in which excise rates increase in line with rising sugar levels in beverages, could be an option. For example, drinks with a sugar content of less than 5 grams per 100 ml can be exempt from excise, while drinks with a sugar content between 5 and 10 grams are subject to low tariffs, and products with a sugar content of more than 10 grams are subject to higher tariffs. A mechanism for periodic tariff adjustments is also important to ensure that these policies remain relevant and effective.

Abstract

Diversity in the delivery and focus of historical material between Indonesia and its neighboring countries, which can influence the younger generation's understanding of regional identity and relations. This study aims to compare Indonesia's history curriculum with that of Southeast Asian countries in order to identify similarities, differences, and implications of the approaches adopted by each country in history education. The method used in this study is a literature review, where data is collected from various academic sources, including textbooks, education policy documents, and previous research papers. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that although there are similarities in major themes such as colonialism and the struggle for independence, there are significant differences in the way the material is presented and emphasized, which is influenced by the social, political, and cultural context of each country. Some countries emphasize the role of the local in historical development, while others emphasize the international perspective. The implication of these findings is the need for dialogue and collaboration between countries to integrate more inclusive historical perspectives into the curriculum, in order to enhance cross-cultural understanding and regional cooperation

Abstract

Labuhanbatu Regency is among the top five regions producing the largest waste in North Sumatra with a total of 130,188 tons. This study aims to analyze the capacity of the Labuhanbatu Regency Environmental Agency in waste management, especially at the Final Processing Site (TPA). The study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through observation techniques, and in-depth interviews with officials and field officers, direct observation at the TPA and TPS locations, and documentation in the form of official archives, regional regulations, annual reports, field photographs, and waste management statistics from the DLH and SIPSN KLHK. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively using Hall et al.'s capacity theory, which emphasizes the ability of an organization to carry out its functions by considering limiting factors. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively using capacity theory. The results of the study indicate that the capacity of the Labuhanbatu Regency Environmental Agency in waste management is still not optimal. Infrastructure and process capacity are inadequate due to the limited number of garbage trucks. Furthermore, planning and development capacity remains weak, as evidenced by the unrealized plan to add a new landfill. Therefore, institutional capacity building, infrastructure improvements, and strategic planning are needed to ensure optimal and sustainable waste management in Labuhanbatu Regency
