Abstract

This research aims to analyze the multidimensional role of teachers in developing the character of elementary school students through Social Studies learning (IPS). The study was conducted using a literature review method on scholarly articles from Google Scholar for the period 2019–2025. The results indicate that teachers play a central role as agents of character transformation, functioning across five main dimensions: (1) as a contextual idol who models positive values in daily interactions; (2) as a value integrator who creatively internalizes moral, social, and citizenship values into IPS materials through systematic lesson planning (RPP), innovative methods (project-based learning, simulations), and character-based media such as digital comics; (3) as a character habituation facilitator through structured routines (such as 3S, religious activities, and flag ceremonies) that create a consistent environment for value internalization; (4) as a facilitator of social skills and care through collaborative learning and real social projects; and (5) as a responsible digital literacy guide in the technological era. However, the effectiveness of this role faces challenges such as an excessive focus on cognitive aspects, limited competency in character-based pedagogy, and external environmental influences. Therefore, systemic support is needed in the form of continuous teacher competency improvement, value-oriented flexible curricula, and strong synergy between schools, families, and communities. In conclusion, IPS learning facilitated by teachers with multidimensional roles and supported by a collaborative ecosystem serves as a strategic vehicle for shaping a future generation that is not only academically intelligent but also strong in character, integrity, and social care.

Abstract

This study examines the principal’s strategies in strengthening School-Based Management (SBM) to improve madrasah quality at MAN 1 Baubau. The research is positioned within contemporary educational governance debates that emphasize decentralization, accountability, and continuous quality improvement in school organizations. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study focuses on how leadership practices translate SBM principles into operational programs and routines, and how these practices shape instructional quality and organizational capacity. Data were generated through semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders (madrasah principal, vice principals, teachers, administrative staff, and committee representatives), direct observations of managerial and instructional routines, and document analysis of planning and evaluation records. Data analysis followed an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation and member checking to enhance trustworthiness. The findings indicate that SBM strengthening is pursued through: (1) strategic alignment of the vision–mission with measurable annual targets and prioritized quality programs; (2) participatory governance structures that distribute roles and responsibilities through functional teams and routine coordination forums; (3) evidence-informed planning and managerial control through monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up mechanisms consistent with continuous improvement logic; (4) instructional leadership practices, including formative academic supervision and teacher professional learning activities; and (5) resource governance and student service strengthening to improve process reliability and learning conditions. Persistent challenges include uneven staff engagement, administrative workload pressures, and limited digital integration of data systems that affect responsiveness. Overall, the study suggests that SBM can operate as a sustainable quality improvement mechanism when leadership integrates direction (targets), systems (routines), and people (capacity and culture), thereby moving implementation beyond document compliance toward measurable improvements in madrasah quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how election crimes are handled and how criminal sanctions are applied within the electoral process, given that election-related offenses remain a recurring problem that can undermine electoral integrity and public trust. Effective handling and sanctioning require a regulatory framework that not only defines prohibited conduct, but also ensures legal certainty, proportionality, and justice for all parties involved. The research focuses on the normative structure of regulations and sanctions governing election crimes. It employs normative legal research methods by examining primary legal materials especially statutory provisions and codified criminal norms as well as secondary legal sources such as scholarly literature and legal commentaries. The analysis shows that election crimes are addressed in general criminal law through Chapter IV, Book II of the Criminal Code, while the electoral framework is specifically regulated under Law Number 7 of 2017 on Elections. In this context, election crimes constitute a special category of offenses because elections are conducted through a sequence of strictly regulated stages, making the timing, actors, and procedural requirements more determinative than in ordinary crimes. Furthermore, criminal sanctions are explicitly enumerated in the Election Law, particularly Articles 488 to 544, which provide various forms and levels of punishment. The imposition of sanctions is determined by the legal qualification of the act committed, reflecting the gravity, intent, and impact of the offense on the electoral process.

Abstract

This study examines the principal’s transformational leadership and its impact on teacher performance in an elementary school context through a case study at SDN 1 Buton. The study is grounded in the need for elementary schools to improve instructional quality and strengthen teachers’ work culture amid policy changes, the reinforcement of literacy and numeracy, and increasing accountability in educational services. The research aims to describe the principal’s transformational leadership practices based on the dimensions of idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration, and to analyze their implications for teacher performance in lesson planning, instructional implementation, assessment practices, classroom management, and professional development. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in depth interviews with the principal and teachers, observations of school and classroom activities, and document analysis (school programs, instructional plans, supervision notes, and teaching administration). Data were analyzed thematically through iterative processes of reduction, categorization, and conclusion drawing, with source and method triangulation to enhance credibility. The findings indicate that transformational leadership builds teachers’ trust and collective commitment through role modeling and policy consistency; enhances work motivation through a clear vision and recognition; encourages gradual innovation through reflective practices and sharing forums; and strengthens psychological safety through coaching-oriented supervision. These practices were associated with more structured instructional documents, more active and responsive teaching, more consistent formative assessment and follow up, and more orderly classroom management. Key constraints included administrative workload, varying levels of digital readiness, limited resources, and student heterogeneity. The study recommends streamlining administrative demands, strengthening teacher professional learning communities, and improving resource support to sustain performance gains.

Abstract

This study examines the role of social media in increasing sales outcomes among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Baubau City. In the context of digital transformation, social media has become an important marketing tool that enables MSMEs to promote products, interact with customers, and expand market reach more efficiently. However, the effectiveness of social media in supporting sales performance at the local MSME level remains an important issue to investigate. This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. The population consisted of MSME owners in Baubau City who actively used social media for business purposes, while the sample was selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings reveal that social media plays a significant role in improving sales outcomes among MSMEs in Baubau City. Platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok were widely used for promotional activities, customer communication, and product visibility. The study found that consistent posting, attractive content, and active customer interaction contributed positively to increasing customer inquiries, purchase transactions, and repeat orders. Social media also helped MSMEs broaden their market reach beyond their immediate business environment. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of social media was influenced by several supporting and inhibiting factors, including digital literacy, content creativity, product quality, time constraints, and limited digital skills. In conclusion, social media is a strategic instrument for strengthening MSME sales performance and competitiveness in Baubau City. Therefore, efforts to improve the digital capacity of MSME actors are essential to ensure the optimal and sustainable use of social media in business development.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic Family Law and the challenges of divorce in the modern era through a literature review approach. Divorce in contemporary Muslim society is no longer shaped solely by traditional domestic problems, but also by broader social transformation, including economic pressure, changing gender roles, technological development, weakening interpersonal communication, and shifting religious and cultural values. These conditions make divorce not only a legal matter but also a socio-religious issue that requires a comprehensive and contextual analysis. This study aims to analyze the concept of divorce in Islamic family fiqh, identify the legal and socio-religious factors influencing divorce in the modern era, and explore the relevance of Islamic family law in responding to contemporary family problems. This research employs library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources, including books, classical Islamic texts, journal articles, previous studies, and relevant legal documents. The data were analyzed using content analysis through data reduction, thematic categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that divorce in Islamic family fiqh is legally permissible but ethically restricted, and it is positioned as a last resort after reconciliation efforts fail. The study also finds that many modern divorce cases are influenced by social change, limited religious literacy, emotional immaturity, and misunderstandings of rights and obligations within marriage. By relating Islamic family fiqh to theories of family law and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, this study concludes that family fiqh remains highly relevant, provided that it is interpreted contextually and implemented in ways that promote justice, welfare, mediation, and family resilience in contemporary Muslim society.

Abstract

This study examines the principal’s strategy in developing a child-friendly school culture through a School Based Management approach at SDN 3 Katobengke. The study is grounded in the view that child-friendly school culture should not be understood merely as a formal program, but as an integral part of school governance that promotes a humane, participatory, and student-centered educational environment. In this context, School-Based Management provides schools with the autonomy and flexibility to formulate policies, strengthen stakeholder participation, and develop institutional practices that are responsive to students’ needs. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The study was conducted at SDN 3 Katobengke, Baubau City. Data were collected through in depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, school staff, the school committee, parents, and students. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings reveal that the principal’s strategy in developing a child-friendly school culture was carried out through the strengthening of school policies, participatory leadership, stakeholder involvement, the creation of a supportive learning environment, and the habituation of positive values in daily school life. The principal acted not only as an administrator but also as a strategic leader who mobilized teachers, involved parents, and directed school governance toward students’ best interests. The study concludes that School Based Management can function effectively in strengthening child-friendly school culture when supported by visionary leadership, collaborative governance, and consistent implementation of child-friendly values in everyday school practices.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of interactive learning media in Hadith instruction at Madrasah Aliyah Al Qayyum Hendea. The research was motivated by the continuing dominance of conventional, teacher-centered approaches in Hadith learning, which often limit student engagement, motivation, and understanding of the meaning and relevance of Hadith in everyday life. In response to the growing demand for pedagogical innovation in the digital era, this study investigates whether interactive learning media can improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes in Hadith instruction. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class was taught using interactive learning media, while the control class received conventional instruction. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test, classroom observation, and student response questionnaires. The data were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine differences in learning outcomes, student activity, and responses toward the learning process. The findings reveal that interactive learning media significantly improved students’ learning outcomes, classroom participation, and positive responses to Hadith instruction. Students in the experimental class demonstrated higher post-test scores, greater learning mastery, more active involvement during instruction, and stronger motivation compared to those in the control class. These results indicate that interactive media not only enhance cognitive achievement but also enrich the learning experience by making Hadith instruction more engaging, contextual, and meaningful. In conclusion, interactive learning media are effective in improving the quality of Hadith instruction in madrasahs. The study recommends the integration of interactive media into Islamic religious education to support more student centered, relevant, and adaptive learning practices in the contemporary educational context.
