Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the validity and practicality of the EMKONTAN model to increase creativity, collaborative skills and environmental literacy of prospective biology teachers. The method used is descriptive research through observation of the implementation of the EMKONTAN model in learning practice. Observation of the implementation was carried out by involving five learning observers. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang and FKIP University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Involving 80 second semester students through total sampling. The validity aspects studied include content validity, face validity and construct validity. Content validity includes needs analysis and conformity with current knowledge. Face validity consists of the correctness of concepts, principles of measurement, instrument format and language. Construct validity includes rationality of the models, theoretical and empirical support, planning and implementation components of the model, learning environment, assessment and evaluation. While the practicality of the model is obtained from the results of observing the implementation of learning through the application of the EMKONTAN syntax which includes socialization and observation of environmental problems, identification and analysis of environmental problems, action plans for solving environmental problems and integration into conservation, actions for solving environmental problems and integration of conservation, monitoring and evaluating processes and the results of the conservation, monitoring and evaluating processes and the results of the action to solve environmental problems and the integration of KSDA, follow-up plans into PKM based on environmental problems and KSDA. The results of the validity of the EMKONTAN model indicate that the model has content, construct, and facial validity with an average value of <3.7 in the very good category that meet the feasibility to be applied in the learning process. In addition, the results of the practicality of the EMKONTAN model include the implementation of each syntax with an average value of <3.6 in the very good category, student activities with an average value of <85% in the very active category, and the obstacles found, namely the existence of an appropriate alternative solution. Keywords: EMKONTAN model, validity, practicality, creativity, collaborative skills, environmental literacy

Abstract

This research aims to produce biology learning tools using discovery learning-based online a valid, practical, and effective to improve the scientific skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students class X MIPA E2 Sma Negeri 5 Malang. The method of this research is research and development (R&D) with ADDIE model. The objectives of this research and development are (1) to produce instructional design which are syllabus, lesson plan, students whorksheet, assessment sheets, and podcast using discovery learning model and (2) to improve students‟ Scientific Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes trough the implementation of learning tools that have been prepared. The subjects are students of X MIPA E1 SMAN 5 Malang, East Java.  Validation test result from the validators stated that the product has average score 92,54% with very valid category. Practicality test result based on field test, conduct a pilot test, and learning syntax implementation consecutively has average score of  84,29%, 87,85%, and 100%. Effectiveness test gained from pretest, posttest, and calculation of N-gain has score 0,26 for cognitive learning outcomes and 0,069 for Scientific Skills with low Category. It can be concluded that (1) the learning tools have very valid and practical category to be implemented on biology learning, and (2) students‟ Scientific Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes improve after the implementation of the biology learning tools, but with low effectiveness criteria. Keywords: scientific skills, cognitive learning outcomes, discovery learning, podcast

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile strengthening project provides an opportunity for students to “experience knowledge” as a process of character building as well as an opportunity to learn from the environment. This research was carried out in the history lesson of phase E, class 10 Muhammadiyah Vocational School Kudus, with lessons on ” through making replicas. The character building taught to students are mutual cooperation (gotong royong), Critical thinking, and creative competence. Lesson study is used to project and capture signals from students in learning in order to provide recommendations for teachers to student needs and interpret student responses as potential that can be developed. Learning uses a project-based learning approach with products in the form of replicas of stone age culture. Students are given the opportunity to collaborate and create a product which is then presented in their language. It is clear that students demonstrate mutual cooperation competence in the process of making replicas, demonstrate Critical thinking competence by connecting materials and information related to the product to be made, and demonstrate creative competence because they have been able to make replicas made of plasticine from stone age culture. The conclusion of the analysis of the Pancasila student profile through the application of project-based learning is 1) each student's behaviour is a picture of potential that can be developed. 2) the choice of approach in learning is able to become a scaffolding in planting the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile.  Keywords : Pancasila Students Profile, Project-based Learning, History

Abstract

Government of Indonesia has cancelled the face-to-face learning process at schools in since March 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. However, the learning process must go on to facilitate student learning. Online learning through Zoom is a solution for supporting student learning in the Covid-19 pandemic. The this study aims to obtain information of student learning on  statistical concepts (mean, median and mode) and statistical at 8 grade junior high school students as a selfreflection for improvement of subsequent learning. Data were collected through written tests and videoZoom recording during online learning. The video zoom recording was transcript for further analysis to obtain information of student speech.Number of the speech characters of teachers and students are presented in bar graphs for further analysis of learning tendencies. Written test was analysis to obtain information of student understanding on statistics concept. It was found that 95% of students can answer the written test correctly. Based on the analysis of the transcript data, it was found that learning tends to be teacher-cantered. Teacher realized that  does not give students the opportunity to express their opinion, the sequence of the discussion. This article describes a plan for improving the learning Keywords: Pandemic, Online, Learning Transcripts, Statistics

Abstract

This study aims to develop STEM (learning model Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Based Blended Learning a practical). The problem posed is to produce a practical STEMBL model in terms of the implementation of learning, learning activities, lecturer responses and student responses. The STEMBL model was developed by adapting the Plomp development flow, namely (1) initial investigation; (2) design; (3) realization/construction; (4) tests, evaluations, and revisions and (5) implementation. The model components developed refer to Arend and the model criteria refer to Nieveen. The subjects of this study were PGSD students at the University of Bosowa. The practicality of the model data was obtained through the instrument implementation of the model, the implementation of learning, as well as learning activities offline and online. The results of this study indicate that the STEMBL model is declared practical based on the observations of the observer on the implementation of the model, learning management and student learning activities based on the results of the practitioner's assessment of the learning model. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the STEMBL model is practical in improving students' critical thinking skills. Keywords: STEM, blended learning, critical thinking skills

Abstract

Universities have an important role in character education. The philosophy of education that combines progressivism, constructivism, and humanism is the foundation of educational activities at universities in Indonesia, which frame the development of student character, in addition to intellectual development and kinesthetic skills. Character education has a very important position considering that global life presents new challenges and changes, which require anticipation and adaptation for the younger generation, including students. The stronger the character possessed by a college graduate, the more capable they will be in dealing with the dynamics of change in the new world.
