Journal of Teacher Well-Being is a pioneering, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to exploring, documenting, analyzing, theorizing and creating from the growing notions, experiences, manifestations of and contestations on teacher well-being. It is published in cooperations with the Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, Indonesia and University of the Philippines Visayas. Teacher Well-Being is multidimensional and multifaceted. Teachers and those involved in the learning processes in the formal, alternative (or non-formal), and informal sectors, modes, and ecologies of education are vital agents and components in any institution of learning or learning organizations. Recognizing the intricate interplay of various forces and voices, movements, thoughts, policies, and trends, that form the undercurrent or influence teacher well-being, this positions itself as an outlet and space for scholarship and reports, perspectives and experiences, and incisive analyses and creative outputs that attempt to capture and make sense of the diverse notions and manifestations that circulate and emerge out of the conversations and actions involving teacher well-being. Journal of Teacher Well-Being Aims to: (a) Promote understanding of the factors that contribute to teacher well-being, personal growth, and professional development. (b) Explore innovative strategies for supporting teacher development, achieving work-life balance, and advancing career pathways. (c) Highlight the role of policy, evaluation, and supervision in shaping supportive educational environments that enhance teacher effectiveness and satisfaction. (d) Encourage evidence-based practices that foster teacher leadership, mentorship, and sustainable career progression. (e) Contribute to global discussions on teacher retention, professional development programs, and lifelong learning in diverse educational contexts. (f) Examine the adaptability and evolving role of teachers in response to technological advancements and generational shifts.

Abstract

Dewasa ini kita sering sekali diperlihatkan foto atau video-video dari sosial media baik itu grub whatsapp, Instagram, telegram dan lain sebagainya yang menampilkan penggerebekan anak-anak remaja di bawah umur yang melakukan hubungan intim di luar pernikahan. Banyak sekali yang memviralkan video terkait hal tersebut salah satu di antara video yang viral adalah penggerebekan anak-anak SMP yang membuat konten pornografi di sebuah bangunan kosong bertempat di kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Hal ini tentu menjadi masalah dalam kehidupan dan menjadi latar belakang dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis konsep paper. Sumber data diambil melalui teori, pendapat pakar, hasil penelitian pendahulu yang telah publish di berbagai jurnal bereputasi nasional dan internasional. Seluruh data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis secara tematik dengan cara pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan diakhiri dengan temuan penelitian. Hasilnya orang tua, guru, konselor, lingkungan masyarakat, lingkungan sekolah memiliki peran sangat penting dan harus aktif, peka serta jeli dalam menghadapi permasalahan adiksi pornografi, karena dengan begitu akan banyak remaja yang terselamatkan kehidupan dan masa depannya.

Abstract

Kontrol diri terhadap pornografi adalah kemampuan seseorang untuk mengatur perilaku dalam mengelola informasi baik berupa bacaan melalui internet, buku, majalah dan komik terutama memilih bacaan pornografi. Banyak seseorang yang tidak dapat menekan perilakunya dalam mengelola informasi terutama pornografi.  Sehingga dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kontrol diri terhadap pornografi siswa SMK Negeri 2 Singosari. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskripsi kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa sebanyak 62, 26% tergolong tinggi, 35,85% tergolong sedang dan 1,89% tergolong rendah.

Abstract

  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis temuan-temuan terkini terkait aplikasi paradigma psikodinamik dalam pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling di konteks pendidikan serta meninjau dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan konselor. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur sistematik dengan menganalisis 10 referensi utama dari jurnal nasional dan internasional yang membahas praktik psikodinamik di lembaga pendidikan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan psikodinamik berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan efektivitas layanan konseling, pengelolaan emosi siswa, serta memperkuat working alliance antara konselor dan konseli. Penerapan layanan psikodinamik juga meningkatkan kapasitas reflektif dan kompetensi interpersonal konselor, yang secara langsung berdampak pada kesejahteraan psikologis mereka. Rekomendasi ditujukan bagi pengambil kebijakan pendidikan untuk mendukung pelatihan pendekatan psikodinamik bagi konselor sekolah serta integrasi teknologi dalam praktik terapi psikodinamik.

Abstract

Lacak Jambi menjadi elemen penting dari pakaian adat yang memiliki peran signifikan dalam identitas budaya masyarakat Jambi. Sebagai simbol yang sarat dengan makna filosofis dan sosial, lacak mencerminkan nilai-nilai dan kepercayaan yang dijunjung tinggi oleh masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini mengkaji penggunaan lacak sebagai simbol identitas budaya masyarakat Jambi melalui pendekatan hermeneutika, dengan fokus pada transformasi makna lacak dalam masyarakat modern. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman mendalam terhadap simbol budaya seperti lacak sangat penting dalam melestarikan identitas budaya, memperkuat rasa kebanggaan, dan solidaritas komunitas di tengah arus modernisasi.

Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kontribusi karakter konselor terhadap efektivitas praktik layanan bimbingan di lingkungan pendidikan, khususnya dalam mendukung pengembangan siswa di era pendidikan abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur sistematik dengan menelaah 20 artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional yang terbit antara tahun 2018 hingga 2023, yang relevan dengan tema karakter konselor, layanan konseling pendidikan, dan pengembangan profesional. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa karakter konselor seperti empati, reflektivitas, berpikir kritis, dan adaptabilitas memiliki peran sentral dalam membangun hubungan konseling yang efektif, menangani isu-isu sosial seperti perundungan dan kecemasan siswa, serta mendukung transisi karir peserta didik. Selain itu, karakter konselor yang kuat juga berkorelasi positif dengan penerapan pendekatan inovatif seperti konseling konstruktivistik dan konseling berbasis teknologi. Rekomendasi utama dari studi ini adalah perlunya penguatan kurikulum pelatihan konselor yang berorientasi pada pengembangan karakter profesional, serta dukungan institusional terhadap praktik konseling yang adaptif dan etis di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

Artikel ini mereviu Bab Tujuh dari buku Paradigms of Counseling and Psychotherapy karya R.R. Cottone (2012), yang menawarkan kerangka klasifikasi teori konseling ke dalam empat kategori: paradigma-spesifik, trans-paradigma, cross-paradigm, dan within-paradigm variation. Fokus utama artikel ini adalah pada pendekatan cross-paradigm yang mencoba mengintegrasikan dua atau lebih paradigma berbeda secara sadar dan operasional. Salah satu contoh menonjol adalah pendekatan psikoedukasi oleh Carol Anderson untuk pengobatan skizofrenia, yang menggabungkan paradigma medis dengan sistemik-relasional.Meskipun pendekatan ini terbukti efektif secara empiris, implementasinya menghadapi tantangan kelembagaan dan filsafati. Artikel ini menyoroti perlunya penguatan fondasi ontologis, epistemologis, dan aksiologis agar pendekatan lintas-paradigma memperoleh legitimasi ilmiah dan profesional. Selain itu, dukungan kelembagaan dan kebijakan menjadi kunci untuk pelembagaan praktik integratif dalam sistem kesehatan mental modern. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa masa depan konseling menuntut integrasi reflektif antarparadigma, bukan sekadar memilih pendekatan tunggal. Pendekatan psikoedukasi memberikan arah potensial menuju paradigma baru yang lebih responsif terhadap kompleksitas manusia dan konteks sosialnya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe primary school teachers' perceptions of well-being from a psychological perspective, as well as the factors that influence it. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with three teachers from a public primary school in Lamongan Regency. Data were analysed using thematic analysis based on Carol Ryff's psychological well-being theory, which consists of six dimensions: self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, life purpose, and personal growth. The results of the study indicate that teachers have positive perceptions of their psychological well-being, despite facing various challenges in their daily practices. Internal factors such as personality, self-efficacy, and stress management skills influence teachers' perceptions, while external factors include the work environment, administrative workload, and policy support. This study underscores the importance of systemic and personal support in maintaining teachers' well-being to create optimal learning processes.

Abstract

International doctoral students often face complex challenges related to academic responsibilities, financial pressures, and adapting to new cultures, especially those from developing countries seeking upward mobility and long-term stability. This study explores the experiences of an Indonesian PhD student in Taiwan who, while enrolled in two simultaneous doctoral programs, also works as an English teacher and research assistant. The goal is to understand how international doctoral students shape their well-being and academic identity while managing multiple roles. Using narrative inquiry as the chosen method, this research analyzes autobiographical reflections. It uses thematic narrative analysis to examine how the participant interprets and finds meaning in his experiences across academic, professional, and emotional areas. The results show that employment serves both as an economic strategy and a professional growth opportunity, strengthening the participant’s academic identity. Despite the challenges of a heavy academic workload and adjusting to a new culture, the participant finds support mainly from his spouse and his personal ambitions. His well-being is seen not as a static state but as a dynamic process influenced by resilience, meaning-making, and long-term goals. The study concludes that the well-being of international doctoral students is actively shaped through the negotiation of their identities, responsibilities, and opportunities during a transnational academic journey.

Abstract

This systematic literature review (SLR) synthesizes research published between 2020 and 2025 to examine the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to explore and enhance Computational Thinking (CT) skills in primary school students. The review analyzed empirical and systematic review studies focusing on various AI methodologies, including Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT), Explainable AI (XAI), adaptive learning systems, and interdisciplinary robotics platforms. Findings consistently demonstrate a positive, moderate-to-significant impact of AI-based interventions on core CT components such as problem decomposition and algorithmic thinking, alongside crucial 21st-century skills like Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity (4Cs). The most effective approaches are characterized by personalized and project-based learning. However, the review identifies significant implementation challenges, including the imperative need for substantial investment in equitable technological infrastructure, the scarcity of comprehensive teacher training programs focusing on both AI literacy and CT pedagogy, and the complexity of ethical issues surrounding data privacy and algorithmic bias. A critical research gap persists in the lack of long-term longitudinal studies and standardized, validated CT assessment tools for this age group. The conclusion advocates for policy actions to establish clear ethical guidelines, support scalable teacher professional development, and prioritize research into sustained impact and reliable assessment to ensure the responsible and equitable integration of AI for fostering computational thinkers.
