Abstract

Sufism is a branch of Islamic knowledge that focuses on the spiritual dimension and purification of the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs). In Islamic boarding school education, Sufism plays a crucial role in shaping the character of students with noble morals. This article examines the basic concepts of Sufism morals and their relevance to the process of purifying the soul, encompassing values ​​such as sincerity, patience, asceticism, and contentment. This research used a descriptive qualitative literature study method. The results indicate that the stages of takhalli (emptying oneself of blameworthy traits), tahalli (filling oneself with praiseworthy traits), and tajalli (revealing Divine truth) are the main foundations in the process of purifying the soul. The implementation of these values ​​is not only relevant for the formation of insan kamil (perfect human beings) in Islamic boarding schools but also holds high relevance in the modern era for character education, self-control, mental health, and social ethics. Overall, Sufism morals are a transformative approach to building spiritual depth amidst the challenges of a fast-paced and materialistic life.

Abstract

This study explores the moral consensus and divine function reflected in human multidimensional life through the Serat Driyabrata manuscript. Using a qualitative interpretive approach with Michael Riffaterre’s semiotic theory, the research reveals that moral order in human life is symbolically expressed through signs and teachings in the text. The meaning of compassionate behavior in Serat Driyabrata includes five elements: purifying the heart, living beneficially for others, lifelong sincere learning, eliminating arrogance (nar/api/iblis), and fostering gratitude with sincerity. Meanwhile, social solidarity in the manuscript is reflected through mutual deliberation, cooperation, mutual assistance, engagement in religious life, and mutual strengthening in facing challenges. These values symbolize togetherness and sincerity as the essence of harmonious social life envisioned in Serat Driyabrata, forming a system of ethical guidance for achieving perfection in life.

Abstract

Lectures are often perceived as a conventional teaching method that is less relevant to modern learning demands, which emphasize student participation. However, in educational practice, lectures are still widely used and have certain pedagogical functions that cannot be fully replaced by other methods. This article aims to conceptually examine the relevance of the lecture method as a learning method that is still widely used in various learning contexts, particularly within the framework of contemporary pedagogy. This article uses a literature review method with a qualitative-descriptive approach, through critical analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical books, and relevant research results that discuss lecture methods and modern learning. The results of the study show that lecture methods remain relevant when used proportionally, reflectively, and adaptively, especially for conveying conceptual frameworks, building initial learning orientation, and explaining abstract and systematic material. This relevance is even stronger when the lecture method is combined with interactive strategies, learning media, and the use of educational technology. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of repositioning the lecture method not as a single method, but as an integral part of a flexible and contextual learning strategy, so that it can support the achievement of learning objectives in a more meaningful way.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe students’ academic dishonesty in examination process at Midwifery Department of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Indonesia. This study used the theory from Miller et al (2017) students’ academic dishonesty is a fraudulent or unfair act to produce better results on exams, papers, assignments, and other learning assignments. The researcher used a qualitative approach with descriptive research. Techniques in data collection is questionnaires. Research result show that the forms of academic dishonesty that students sometimes do are copy friends’ answer during exam, allow friends to copy answer sheet during the test, collaborate with friends during the test, use handphone to find answer during exam, use signal/finger code to friend to get answer. The result of students’ academic dishonesty is sometimes 15 %.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategies for developing entrepreneurial character at the Al-Firdausiy Islamic Boarding School in Semarang. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that the development of students' entrepreneurial character is carried out through three main strategies: (1) cognitive development through the study of classical texts such as Fathul Qorib and Bulughul Marom, as well as training in basic entrepreneurial theory, including profit calculation, risk mitigation, and market price analysis; (2) the development of entrepreneurial attitudes and principles through the Semarang Ngajiyuk Institute program and the character-based Islamic boarding school; (3) the development of behavior through direct practice, such as selling activities on campus. Entrepreneurial character is a key program of the Islamic boarding school, with the vision of "good morals, good at reciting the Quran, and good at trading." This program has resulted in students becoming independent, disciplined, creative, and responsible.

Abstract

This research examines the utilization of Hadits in pembelajaran pesantren as the foundation for forming the Islamic character of students. Hadits serves as the main basis for kitab kuning such as Riyadhus Shalihin and Bulughul Maram, taught through memorization, talaqqi, and musyafahah methods that maintain the authenticity of scholarly chains, with the central role of the kiai as both a model and authority in transmission. The values of Hadits like humility (tawadhu), discipline, and brotherhood (ukhuwah) are internalized in worship ethics, education, social interactions, and the students' environment through the living practice of Hadits. Amid modernization, pesantren integrate Hadits studies with formal curricula, digital technology, and contemporary approaches to ensure relevance in the global era. This qualitative library-based approach affirms that pesantren are adaptive in preserving tradition while facing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of an organizational culture based on Islamic values ​​at the Manarul Quran El Yadah Islamic Boarding School in Bambu Apus. Islamic organizational culture is understood as a value system that not only shapes collective behavior but also fosters the spiritual and moral character of organizational members. This study uses a qualitative descriptive case study approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results show that values ​​such as trustworthiness, sincerity, discipline, and Islamic brotherhood have been embedded in various aspects of management and social interactions at the Islamic boarding school. The leadership of the kyai, who emphasizes exemplary behavior, deliberation, and honesty, is a key driving factor in maintaining this culture. Senior students are also empowered as agents of internalization of Islamic values ​​in the students' daily lives. Despite challenges such as inconsistent implementation of rules and a low understanding of spiritual values ​​as a whole, the organizational culture at this Islamic boarding school has been proven to support the formation of a religious, orderly, and character-building educational environment. This study recommends strengthening the strategy of internalizing values ​​in a sustainable manner to maintain the continuity of Islamic culture in modern Islamic boarding school educational institutions

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis karakter peserta didik dari perspektif psikolinguistik di MTs Darussalamah Baruh Sampang. Pendekatan psikolinguistik digunakan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara proses bahasa, perkembangan kognitif, dan karakter peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi kelas, wawancara mendalam dengan guru bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris, serta dokumentasi yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter peserta didik dipengaruhi oleh bahasa ibu, lingkungan sosial-keagamaan, dan gaya belajar yang beragam. Pemahaman karakter peserta didik dari perspektif psikolinguistik memungkinkan guru merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, kontekstual, dan humanis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman ilmu tajwid di kalangan siswa kelas V SD yang disebabkan oleh dominasi metode ceramah dan kurangnya pemanfaatan media visual yang bersifat konkret. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji efektivitas penggunaan video pendek TikTok berbasis animasi guna meningkatkan pemahaman materi makhorijul huruf dan sifatul huruf. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi-Experimental tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 siswa yang terbagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen (n=30) dan kelas kontrol (n=30). Instrumen berupa tes objektif sebanyak 20 soal pilihan ganda yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antar kedua kelompok. Sementara itu, uji N-Gain mengungkap peningkatan pemahaman kelas eksperimen berkategori sedang (0,68), jauh lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol yang hanya berkategori rendah (0,31). Kesimpulannya, media video pendek TikTok berbasis animasi terbukti efektif sebagai inovasi pembelajaran PAI untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tajwid. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar guru dan pengembang kurikulum mengintegrasikan media sosial edukatif secara terencana guna mendukung capaian pembelajaran.

Abstract

Kekerasan seksual terhadap anak merupakan permasalahan serius yang membutuhkan strategi pencegahan komprehensif, salah satunya melalui edukasi body boundaries (batasan tubuh). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep edukasi body boundaries dalam perspektif Al-Qur'an sebagai strategi pencegahan kekerasan seksual terhadap anak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan tafsir tematik. Data primer berasal dari ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an, sementara data sekunder diperoleh dari tafsir, buku, dan artikel jurnal relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan body boundaries dalam Al-Qur'an dapat dibangun di atas tiga landasan utama: (1) pendidikan privasi dan batas tubuh yang bersumber dari QS. An-Nur [24]: 58-59; (2) penghormatan terhadap integritas tubuh yang bersumber dari QS. An-Nur [24]: 30-31; dan (3) tanggung jawab pendidikan keluarga sebagai benteng perlindungan anak yang bersumber dari QS. At-Tahrim [66]: 6. Edukasi body boundaries berperan sebagai pendidikan preventif dalam Islam dengan fungsi membangun kesadaran tubuh, mengenalkan privasi, menumbuhkan keberanian menolak, dan menguatkan budaya melapor. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi nilai-nilai Qur'ani dalam edukasi body boundaries menawarkan kerangka pendidikan preventif yang tidak hanya efektif secara pedagogis tetapi juga memiliki legitimasi normatif dalam perspektif Islam, sehingga relevan untuk menjawab tantangan perlindungan anak di era kontemporer.
