Abstract

The development of modern food technology has given rise to innovation in the form of artificial meat (in vitro meat) produced through cell culture techniques in laboratories. This innovation was initiated as a solution to the increasing demand for animal protein and the limited supply of conventional meat. However, its existence has sparked debate regarding its halal status from a contemporary Islamic jurisprudence perspective. This study used a literature study method by analyzing Islamic jurisprudence literature, religious fatwas (fatwas), halal regulations, and scientific studies related to the production process of cultured meat. The results show that the law on consuming in vitro meat is a khilafiyah issue. Some Islamic scholars and international fatwa institutions, such as the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, and the Fatwa of the Mufti of the Kingdom of Malaysia, permit the consumption of in vitro meat provided that the cells come from halal animals slaughtered according to Islamic law and the production process is free from impure and harmful elements. In contrast, the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) National Conference of Religious Scholars (Munas Alim Ulama) determined that cell-based meat is haram (forbidden) because the cells are taken from live animals without slaughter, thus creating carcasses. The culture process involves impure materials such as blood serum. In conclusion, the halal status of cultured meat depends heavily on the cell source, production procedures, and the cleanliness of the supporting materials, necessitating a more comprehensive Sharia standard to assess the halal status of this modern food technology. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Field Practice Experience (PPL) Program implemented for grade XII students of MA Sumbersari Kowang, particularly in the context of developing and improving communication soft skills. This descriptive qualitative research uses a case study approach by analyzing data from participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate a significant and measurable increase in students' communication soft skills after the PPL. The PPL program provides a concrete experience that forces students to face real communication challenges. This experience is then followed by the creation of activity reports. This phenomenon confirms that PPL is a pedagogical intervention that successfully internalizes communication soft skills, in accordance with the principles of Experiential Learning. PPL at MA Sumbersari Kowang has proven to be very effective in developing the communication soft skills of grade XII students. Through direct experience in the field, it has a significant impact on students' discipline and responsibility, in addition to communication soft skills. Students' abilities are evident through the skills of asking questions, giving and receiving constructive and supportive feedback during discussions in learning. It is recommended that schools integrate soft skills assessment explicitly and structure it in the PPL curriculum in the future.   Keywords: Communication Soft Skills, Experiential Learning, Islamic Education learning

Abstract

Qur'anic memorization methods are a crucial element in tahfiz education as they carry significant implications for the quality of memorization proficiency. This study analyzes the implementation of Quranic memorization methods in improving memorization quality at Islamic Boarding School Al-Mardliyah Jombang (Indonesia) and Maahad Tahfidz Darul Falah Selangor (Malaysia). Employing a descriptive-comparative approach, the research explores methodological differences in tahfidz across countries, identifies supporting and inhibiting factors, and measures effectiveness within different socio-cultural contexts. Results indicate that Islamic Boarding School Al-Mardliyah implements a fixed 1:4 ratio (ziyadah and muraja’ah) with multi-layered evaluation structures, while Maahad Darul Falah employs a flexible approach with individualized ziyadah (0.5-5 pages) and stratified muraja'ah systems. Both methods effectively create conducive tahfidz environments with distinct advantages; Al-Mardliyah excels in discipline, order, and spiritual consistency through structured emotional guidance, whereas Darul Falah offers an inclusive-adaptive approach with strong institutional support and learning personalization. The research recommends integrating traditional pesantren disciplinary structures with modern pedagogical flexibility as an ideal model for developing quality-oriented and sustainable tahfidz programs.   Keywords: Quranic Memorization, Tahfidz Methods, Ziyadah, Muraja'ah Islamic Boarding School Education

Abstract

This article explores mystical logic, a term introduced through the critique of Tan Malaka's thought in Indonesia, in the context of Qur'anic interpretation, particularly the relationship between reason and faith. Using a thematic exegetical approach, this article unpacks the structure of Qur'anic faith, which integrates reason ('aql) and inner experience (qalb/yaqin), and compares it with the phenomenon of mystical logic that remains strong in Indonesian society. Case studies demonstrate how popular understandings of mysticism often deviate from the Qur'anic principles of monotheism and rationality. The analysis draws on key exegetical works such as the Tafsir al-Mishbah (Quraish Shihab), the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, and contemporary Sufism. The results show that the Qur'an does not reject inner experience, but rather synthesizes reason and mysticism within a rational and ethical framework of revelation.   Keywords: Mystical Logic, Qur'an, Interpretation, Reason, Faith

Abstract

Vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the labor market. Technological advances in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era require responsive, creative, and vocational education policies that align with industrial developments. However, several studies indicate that there is still a gap between the abilities of vocational education graduates and the skills needed in the labor market. Furthermore, the implementation of vocational education policies in Indonesia is considered to be underperforming due to various structural and operational constraints. This study aims to analyze the orientation of vocational education policies in responding to the demands of the workforce, identify key challenges in policy implementation at the national level and in field practice, and evaluate their level of alignment with workforce competency needs in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. This study applies a qualitative approach through library research with descriptive analysis of various policy documents, scientific articles, and relevant previous research findings. The research findings indicate that vocational education policies in Indonesia still face several key challenges, including a lack of coordination between stakeholders, inadequate human resources and educational infrastructure readiness, and a suboptimal link between the education curriculum and industry needs. Thus, it is important to strengthen cooperation between the government, educational institutions, and the industrial sector so that vocational education policies can be more efficient in producing a qualified and competitive workforce.   Keywords: World of Work, Policy Implementation, Vocational Education Policy, Industrial Revolution 4.0, Literature Study

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right of every citizen guaranteed in the Indonesian constitution, particularly in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, Article 31. The Indonesian government has issued various policies to improve the quality of primary and secondary education while ensuring equitable access and quality across all regions. Nevertheless, the disparity in education quality between urban and rural areas, as well as between western and eastern regions of Indonesia, remains a serious challenge. This article aims to analyze primary and secondary education policies from the perspective of quality equity, identify factors hindering policy implementation, and formulate strategic recommendations for improvement. The study uses a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach through the examination of regulations, government reports, and previous research findings. The analysis results show that policies such as the School Operational Assistance (BOS), the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP), and the Merdeka Curriculum have improved access to education and learning flexibility. However, disparities in teacher distribution, limited infrastructure, as well as weak oversight and policy evaluation remain major obstacles in equalizing the quality of education.   Keywords: Education Policy, Quality Equalization, Primary Education, Secondary Education

Abstract

Academic writing is a fundamental component of higher education, particularly for postgraduate students in Islamic studies, where scientific writing serves as a medium for preserving, developing, and disseminating knowledge. However, many students still encounter difficulties in translating theoretical understanding into effective academic writing practice. This study aims to analyze the understanding and challenges faced by postgraduate students of the Islamic University of Madinah in writing academic scientific papers. The research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with students from various study programs. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to reveal students’ perceptions, experiences, as well as internal and external factors influencing the process of academic writing. The findings indicate that students generally possess a good understanding of the nature of scientific writing, including the distinction between scientific and non-scientific works in terms of objectives, methods, content, and language. However, in practice, they continue to face various challenges, both internal and external. Internal challenges include low self-confidence, limited writing habits, weak time management, procrastination, and insufficient proficiency in academic Arabic. Meanwhile, external challenges involve limited access to relevant references, inadequate guidance and training in academic writing, and the lack of a consistently established reading and writing culture within the campus environment. This study highlights the importance of strengthening academic culture, providing continuous mentoring, and developing academic writing skills to improve the quality of scientific works produced by students of Islamic studies.
