Abstract

Employee productivity is a crucial element in determining the operational success of a company, which is influenced by internal factors such as technical skills and working conditions. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which technical skills contribute to increasing employee productivity at PT Sumber Bara Abadi, considering the role of the work environment as a mediating variable. The research approach is quantitative, using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. The population in this study includes all 70 permanent employees of the company, where the entire population was used as the sample through a census technique due to its limited size. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire designed to assess aspects of technical skills, work environment, and productivity levels. The analysis results indicate that technical skills have a positive and significant influence on productivity, as well as on the work environment. Additionally, the work environment was also found to have a significant impact on employee productivity. Other findings confirm that technical skills indirectly influence productivity through the mediation of the work environment. Based on these results, it is recommended that the company develop a technical skills training program integrated with a strategy for creating a conducive work environment to promote optimal and sustainable productivity.

Abstract

Developing countries generally face economic challenges like high inflation and slow growth. Inflation has dual positive and negative impacts; high inflation can hinder economic growth and vice versa. Additionally, inflation affects unemployment; rising inflation tends to decrease real income and increase poverty. This study evaluates economic growth in Central Java Province from 2003-2019 using a quantitative time series approach with secondary data and OLS for multiple linear regression. T-test results indicate that inflation, poverty, and unemployment did not significantly impact economic growth in Central Java during this period.

Abstract

This longitudinal comparative study investigates the ethical resilience of Islamic banks in Indonesia and Malaysia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic using the Islamicity Performance Index (IPI). Five performance dimensions, Profit Sharing Ratio (PSR), Zakat Performance Ratio (ZPR), Equitable Distribution Ratio (EDR), Islamic Investment Ratio (IIR), and Islamic Income Ratio (ISIR), are assessed to reflect the operationalisation of Maqasid al-Shariah values within Islamic financial institutions. Employing non-parametric Mann Whitney tests on annual report data from 11 Islamic banks over the 2017–2022 period, the study reveals statistically significant differences in PSR, IIR, and ISIR across the two timeframes and between countries, indicating varied institutional responses to ethical finance during crisis conditions. In contrast, ZPR and EDR remain statistically stable, suggesting limited change in social distribution and wealth justice mechanisms. These findings underscore the need to reevaluate the practical integration of Islamic ethical principles into crisis governance models and affirm the relevance of multidimensional Shariah-aligned metrics in evaluating financial integrity beyond profitability.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of tourism management on the welfare of rural communities, using Trans Patoa Village in South Bolaang Mongondow Regency as a case study. Despite the village's natural tourism potential, community welfare remains low due to limited skills and employment opportunities. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a simple linear regression model to analyze the relationship between tourism management and community welfare. Data were collected from 40 local tourism service providers through validated and reliable instruments. The results show a strong and significant positive relationship between tourism management and community welfare, with a standardized coefficient (Beta) of 0.721 and a p-value of 0.000. These findings indicate that effective, inclusive, and community-based tourism management can significantly enhance economic conditions, job opportunities, and quality of life in rural areas. This research highlights the strategic role of tourism in sustainable rural development and offers recommendations for stakeholders to strengthen tourism governance and community empowerment.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of changes in tax rates on corporate capital structure by highlighting how tax rate fluctuations affect financing decisions, particularly the balance between debt and equity. Using a literature review approach, the research examines various sources to identify patterns in the relationship between tax rates and capital structure, considering internal factors such as profitability, firm size, and access to external financing. The findings indicate that companies with high profitability and better access to funding are more flexible in adjusting their capital structure, while smaller or less profitable firms are more vulnerable to tax rate changes. This study contributes by offering a more holistic understanding of how tax policies influence financing decisions and emphasizes the importance of effective tax management strategies and stable tax policies. These findings have significant implications for policymakers and future research in developing relevant analytical models and strategies in the context of ever-evolving tax regulations.
