Abstract

Determination of the location of this research is done purposively. This research was conducted at the Sentani Barokah Home Industry with the consideration that one of them is working on cork fish crackers in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. The research time is June to July 2022. This study aims to: 1. To find out the marketing mix used in the Sentani Barokah Home Industry. 2. To determine the internal and external factors faced and alternative strategies that can be used in product marketing. The results showed that the Sentani Barokah Home Industry had implemented a marketing mix strategy. The components in the industry's marketing mix are product, price, distribution, and promotion. The scoring results obtained from internal and external factors in the marketing strategy of snakehead fish crackers for the Sentani Barokah Home Industry are in the form of a strength factor of 2.86 and a weakness of 1 .84 and then reduced by the criteria of strength and weakness so that the coordinate value is 1.02. Furthermore, the threat factor and industrial opportunity are in the form of an opportunity factor of 4.3 and a threat of 2.55 so that the coordinate value is 1.75. An alternative strategy that can be used in marketing at Sentani Barokah's home industry is the S-O (Strength-Opportunity) strategy, which can take advantage of government support in expanding the marketing distribution network considering the market opportunities are still open and very wide

Abstract

This study aims to determine the success rate of the artificial insemination program in pigs at the UPTD Livestock Breeding Center in Harapan Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. The research method used is a survey method with interview techniques using questionnaires to obtain primary data, as well as conducting observations to see the condition of pigs that have been artificially inseminated. The variables observed in this study included: (1) the number of inseminated females; (2) the number of pregnant females; (3) The number of inseminated females and normal offspring; (4) The number of straws used. The results of the study obtained the number of Service Per Conception (S/C) = 1.3; Conception Rate (CR) = 83% and Calving Rate (C/R) = 77%. Conclusion: the implementation of IB at the UPTD of the Kampung Harapan Livestock Breeding Center can be said to be quite successful.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of income from the gaduhan system business of beef cattle run by beneficiary breeders in Arso District, Keerom Regency, Papua Province.The method used is a survey method with data collection techniques through direct observation and interviews with the help of flat questions to 10 farmer respondents who were deliberately selected from the 31 population of beef cattle breeders in the gaduhan system in Arso District in 2019 for approximately one month starting from April to May 2021. The collected data is processed and analyzed using cost analysis formulas. The results showed that the gaduhan system business of beef cattle in Arso District, Keerom Regency, Papua Province provides a sufficient level of income for farmers because the difference between revenue and production costs is positive, which average of Rp. 5.955.103,- Thus, the effort to raise beef cattle with the gaduhan system in the Arso District, Keerom Regency, PapuaProvince, especially in the 2019 aid package, has provided economic benefits because it contributes to income to improve the welfare of the farmers family

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of the existence of small-scale pig farms in Hinekombe Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques by observation through direct interviews with the help of a list of questions. Interviews were conducted with 15 farmers, respondents who were selected by purposive random sampling from small-scale pig farmers in Hinekombe Village, Sentani District. The data collected, processed and presented descriptively. The results showed that 60% of under 30 years old and 40% of 30-50 years old were in the category of productive age workers, the level of education of breeders was 33.33%, high school was 26.67%, junior high school was 6.67%. , SD is 13.33% while 20% for respondents who do not have education or drop out of school, experience raising 1-5 years is 40%, 6-10 years is 46.67% and >10 years 13.33% means that respondents have more experience is above 5 years, the number of dependents in the family is below 4 (<4) dependents/head of family by 93.33% of the total respondents. For the number of dependents above 5 (> 6) people/head of family by 6.67% and the respondents' reasons for raising livestock as a source of income as much as 73.33% and 26.67% stated that it was a sideline business or leisure time. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the profile of farmers in small-scale pig rearing businesses in Hinekombe Village, Sentani District is classified as productive age workers, has good motivation with secondary education levels and has the reason that pig rearing business is a productive business to support the family economy

Abstract

This research was conducted in Nendali Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. Respondents used in this study were 18 heads of families (KK) who work as sago farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine the costs incurred and find out how much income the sago farmers earn in Nendali Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the total cost of household business of sago farmers incurred up to the production stage of 18 families (KK), is Rp. 17,600,000, while the average incurred by farmers is Rp. 977,777 then the total income for 18 families (KK) of sago farmers is Rp. 36,200,000 with an average of Rp. 2,011,111. From the results of this study, it is necessary to suggest to farmers to be able to carry out sago tree cultivation, so that sago trees do not become extinct so that in terms of production will increase.

Abstract

The fluctuating production of cassava plants both nationally and regionally, especially in the province of Papua and Jayapura district, is suspected to be due to the presence of weeds in the cassava plantation area. The presence of weeds in cassava plantations can inhibit growth and even reduce cassava production by 75% if the weeds are not controlled, especially at the beginning of their growth. The type, nature and population of weeds in the cassava plant area will affect the small amount of losses incurred. The presence of these weeds and their impact on cassava plants can be analyzed from the density level, dominance index and species diversity. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of weeds in cassava plantations and the level of density and dominance of each of these weeds. This research was conducted in Dobonsolo Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, from November 2020 to December 2020. The method used in this study was a free survey with the vegetation analysis method using the quadratic method, namely the analysis method by taking data from each plot. example of a quadrant with an area that is calculated in quadrant units (m²). The quadrant used in this study is a square with a size of 2 m x 2 m. The results of observations of weed types found in cassava gardens in Dobonsolo Village, Sentani District, found 15 types of weeds consisting of 9 families, namely Piperaceae, Commelinaceae, Dennstaedtiaceae, Lamiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Poaceae, Onagraceae, Rubiaceae, and Fabaceae. The dominant type of weed in cassava gardens in Dobonsolo Village, Sentani District, is Peperomia pellucida L from the Piperaceae family with a NJD value of 12.6%.

Abstract

Sweet potato is a source of carbohydrates, widely cultivated by the people of Papua. Sweet potato have a variety of different types and characters. This diversity has an important in the process of selecting and assembling new superior varieties. Identification based on morphological characters on leaves and tubers can be used to the similarities and differences in plants, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The sugar level in sweet potato tubers needs to be known, because it is related to use as food for patient with degenerative diseases. The aim of the study was to identify the morphological characters of leaves and tubers, as well as sugar level in three sweet potato accessions cultivated by the local community. Identification of morphological characters of leaves and tubers used descriptive methods, while identification of sugar level used experimental methods. The results showed that (1) the morphological characters of the leaves and tubers of the three types of sweet potato cultivated by the local community were different, both quantitatively and qualitatively. (2) The highest sugar level is found in boiled and baked light yellow sweet potatoes. The lowest sugar level was found in boiled white sweet potatoes (3.570brix) and creamy sweet potatoes that were baked (3.130brix). White and creamy sweet potatoes are more suitable for people with degenerative diseases.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the condition of physical and chemical water quality in the waters of Lake Sentani, Waibu District, Jayapura Regency. The method used in this study is a normative survey method, which is a method used to observe certain objects or conditions, which are nothing but intended to make systematic descriptions, pictures or drawings, of data or facts and characteristics in relation to the information provided. obtained by setting in a certain standard or norm. Data collected, processed and presented descriptively. The results showed that physical water quality parameters, water temperature ranged from 28.4 – 30.2 to 30.3 oC, turbidity 4.10 – 4.20 to 4.90 NTU, TDS ranged from 119.0 – 129.0 up to 132.0 mg/l and TSS ranged from 82.0 – 82.0- to 96.0 mg/L and non-metallic inorganic chemical water quality parameters, the degree of acidity (pH) ranged from 7.53 – 7.55 to 7.81mg/l, dissolved oxygen (DO) ranged from 6.02 – 6.10 to 6.50 mg/L, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) ranged from 1.72 – 2.64 to 2.90 mg/L , nitrite (NO2-N) ranged from 0.004 – 0.004 to 0.004 mg/L and phosphate (PO4-P) ranged from 0.53 – 0.97 to 1.02 mg/L. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the physical quality and the water chemistry of Sentani Lake waters at the study site is still in the optimal range or suitable for aquaculture activities in Sentani Lake waters.

Abstract

Cocoa is a type of plantation plant that is very popular with preparations the fruit, chocolate is processed derived from cocoa beans. In Jayapura Regency, there is a household industry, the Kenambai Umbai Chocolate House, which processes fermented cocoa beans from farmers in the Nimbokran District, Jayapura Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in fat content in chocolate bar products from the household industry, Kenambai Umbai Chocolate House, Jayapura Regency, and commercial chocolate products. The implementation of the fat content test was carried out at the Chemistry Education Laboratory, Cenderawasih University, Jayapura. The method used for the fat content in chocolate bars is a qualitative method because the analysis was carried out in the laboratory using the Soxhlet method. The fat content of chocolate at Kenambai Umbai Chocolate House after being tested for fat content using the Soxhlet method, in one package of chocolate with a net weight of 100 grams contains 21.4% total fat. Meanwhile, the SNI (Indonesian National Standard) for total fat in chocolate bars is > 31%. So it can be concluded that the fat content in chocolate products Kenambai Umbai Chocolate House does not meet SNI.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the appearance of production of the beef cattle business farming by partnersip system namely gaduhan system in 2019 in Arso District, Keerom, Papua. A survey was conducted on all domestic cattle breeders as many as 40 breeders that lasted from April to May 2021. The initial weight of the cattle was 115.19 kg and the average final weight of the cattle was 229.55 kg, so the average weight gain of domestic cattle of gaduhan system kept by as many as 40 breeders in Arso District, Keerom Regency is about 114.36 kg during the rearing period of approximately 360 days so that the average weight gain of cattle per day is 0.32 kg. The daily weight gain of domestic cattle of gaduhan system kept by breeders is quite high. The conclusion obtained is that the performance of domestic cattle production of gaduhan system in Arso District, Keerom Regency, aid package in 2019 is quite good.
