Journal of Education and Learning Innovation (Jelin) is a journal published by Perkumpulan Dosen Tarbiyah Islam Indonesia (PDTII). is published twice times a year (March and September). Chalim Teaching and Learning Journal multi-disciplinary, peer-refereed journal, the scope of this journal is in learning and instruction area which provides a platform for the publication of the most advanced scientific researches in the areas of learning, development, instruction, and teaching. The journal welcomes original empirical investigation. The papers may represent a variety of theoretical perspectives and different methodological approaches. They may refer to any age level, from infants to adults, and to a diversity of learning and instructional settings, from laboratory experiments to field studies. The major criteria in the review and the selection process concern the significance of the contribution to the area of learning and instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the religious character values instilled in students at MI Al Hidayah Bangli and the strategies applied in shaping these characters through religious activities. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results revealed nine religious character values developed, namely piety, courtesy, honesty, responsibility, gratitude, sincerity, humility, discipline, respect for time, care and respect, as well as respect for other people's opinions and being able to work together. The strategies implemented include exemplifying discipline habituation, creating a conducive environment, and integrating and internalizing character values in various religious activities. These strategies positively impact students by increasing good character, social spirit, honesty, justice, consistency, and loyalty. This study concludes that MI Al Hidayah Bangli seeks to instill and develop religious character in students through various strategies in religious activities that are carried out consistently and continuously and have a positive impact on the development of student character, which is expected to be implemented in everyday life.

Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of character values in the Independent Curriculum of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SDN 7 Gianyar, Bali Province. The character values implemented include tolerance, national spirit, love of peace, love of reading, and responsibility. These values are instilled using an eclectic approach, combining the theories of habituation, sustainability, and change. Implementation involves making character values part of PAI learning evaluation materials and techniques. The research results show that the implementation of character values has a positive impact, including (1) building good, harmonious, and peaceful relationships between students of different religions at school; (2) increasing school achievement; and (3) decreasing levels of violence or bullying among students. This implementation succeeded in forming students with noble character according to Islamic teachings and creating harmony amidst cultural and religious diversity. This research contributes to developing religious-based character education in schools to realize peace and national unity.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of extracurricular activities aimed at improving students' non-academic achievements at Tabanan Islamic Elementary School. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation study methods. The research findings indicate that Tabanan Islamic Elementary School executes extracurricular activities with a focus on key management stages, including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. During the planning stage, coordination meetings are convened to identify student interests and develop work programs, ensuring alignment with both student interests and school objectives. Organizing entails involving various stakeholders with clearly defined roles and responsibilities. The implementation phase encompasses continuous preparation, regular practice, and program execution, with supervisors playing a crucial role in guiding students. Evaluation is conducted through annual meetings to pinpoint program deficiencies for improvement. The successful implementation is facilitated by competent human resources, adequate infrastructure, a diverse array of sports, science, and technology, arts and culture activities aimed at nurturing students' talents, fostering character development, and motivational support provided by coaches. Overall, the implementation of extracurricular activities at Tabanan Islamic Elementary School adheres to sound management principles and is bolstered by various factors aimed at enhancing students' non-academic achievements through high-quality activities fostering talent, interest, and character development.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the curriculum in optimizing the tahfidz program at Al-Hikamussalafiyyah Islamic Boarding School, Sumedang. This study employs a qualitative research design with a case study approach. The research is conducted at Al-Hikamussalafiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Sumedang. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources for this study comprise the leadership of the boarding school, tahfidz program coordinators, the teachers' council, and one student. Analytical techniques employed in this research involve data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Triangulation methods, both in terms of technique and source, are used to validate the data. The research findings reveal that (1) the curriculum structure for tahfidz al-Qur'an at Al-Hikamussalafiyyah Islamic Boarding School encompasses several planning stages, including setting basic and learning objectives, defining material targets and achievements, and allocating learning time, as well as organizing tasks and learning materials. (2) Curriculum implementation in optimizing the tahfidz program includes execution, with the learning process comprising three stages of initial, core, and closing activities, the application of methods tailored to each class level, and learning conditions.

Abstract

This study applies a qualitative research method with a case study approach at MA Hasanatul Huda in Sumedang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving various parties such as the foundation chairman, headmaster, vice headmaster for student affairs, committee members, teachers, laboratory head, and administrative staff. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was examined through source triangulation. The analysis results conclude that educational financing planning is carried out through activity inventory, financing sources, and RKAM preparation. Financing implementation is divided into expenditure and financial accounting. Supervision is conducted internally by the school principal, committee, and foundation, and externally by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Sumedang Regency and the Directorate General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, using methods of inspection, monitoring, research, supervision, and reporting to ensure that budget utilization aligns with plans and the effectiveness of educational programs.

Abstract

This study originates from an initiative undertaken by the Daarul Hijrah Walhidayah Islamic Boarding School in Mekarsari Pancatengah, Tasikmalaya. The institution has devised programs to mold the character of its students and foster values of discipline and positive conduct. These initiatives encompass communal prayers, Quranic studies, environmental stewardship, aiding sick peers, maintaining discipline within the boarding school, and other endeavors that promote constructive values. The research endeavors to explore two primary facets: (1) the management of the boarding school, encompassing the planning, execution, and assessment of programs, and (2) the cultivation of ethical behavior at the Daarul Hijrah Walhidayah Islamic Boarding School in Mekarsari Pancatengah, Tasikmalaya, achieved through activities like communal gatherings, religious instruction, recitations, memorials, cemetery visits, and commemorations of historical struggles. Research findings reveal a well-organized management structure at Daarul Hijrah Walhidayah, from initial program design to evaluation. The instilling of student ethics occurs through regular activities such as communal gatherings, religious instruction, recitations, memorials, cemetery visits, and commemorations of historical struggles, while ongoing assessments of character education are conducted consistently and efficiently.

Abstract

This research utilizes both primary and secondary data sources. The analysis technique used is observation, which includes both source and technical triangulation. The findings indicate that the principal's management strategy in developing the Pancasila student profile project at SMPN 1 Pasekan involves: Strategy Formulation: This process includes defining the school's vision and mission, identifying external opportunities and threats, assessing internal strengths and weaknesses, setting long-term goals, devising alternative strategies, and selecting specific strategies for implementation. Strategy Management Implementation> This step involves the principal preparing a project within an independent curriculum by forming a project team, planning the project, supervising its progress, managing school resources transparently and accountably, and fostering communication and collaboration among parents, students, and project stakeholders. It also includes developing a community of practitioners within the educational unit to enhance educators' skills, providing regular coaching for educators, and planning, implementing, reflecting on, and evaluating projects and student-centered assessments. The principal's role in this initiative includes providing leadership and direction, developing the curriculum, coaching teachers, monitoring and evaluating progress, collaborating with parents and the community, securing resources, promoting awareness, developing educational materials, creating an inclusive environment, measuring impact, addressing challenges, and supporting innovation and creativity.

Abstract

The study employs a qualitative research methodology utilizing a case study framework, conducted at SMPN 89 Jakarta. Methods for data collection encompass observation, interviews, and documentation, drawing from schoolteachers and students as primary sources. Analysis methods include data collection, reduction, presentation, and deduction, with source triangulation used to validate the data. Efforts are directed towards curbing intolerance and extremism through the promotion of religious moderation. A strategy devised by school principals and teachers, known as the '5 M' approach (smiles, greetings, manners), is implemented to instill moderate religious values among the school community. Regular teacher coaching sessions are conducted to foster a culture of diversity, perceived as the divine will. The religious environment at SMPN 89 Jakarta exhibits moderate religiosity and embraces diversity, although religious teachers tend to prioritize traditional identity beliefs during the implementation of religious supervision and understanding.

Abstract

This research uses a type of qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The object of this research was carried out at SD Negeri Paripurna. Data collection techniques using Observation, Interview, and Documentation. Sources of data in this study included school principals, Deputy Head of Curriculum Affairs, PAI teachers, and class teachers at SD Negeri Paripurna. The analysis techniques used in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The triangulation used to test the validity of the data is technique and source triangulation. The results showed that (1) the management of the principal at SD Negeri Paripurna, Sumedang Regency, consisted of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The planning carried out by the principal includes the school's vision and mission, and work programs to improve teacher professionalism. Implementation, the program carried out by the school principal, namely the implementation of the management strategy "Kudu nepi samẻmẻh indit" or "must arrive before leaving" implemented by the Principal of SD Negeri Paripurna has been communicated and understood by all implementing elements at SD Negeri Paripurna to build "management Happy Monday". The implementation of the HAPPY MONDAY Program is one of the programs to increase teacher professionalism (2) The steps taken by school principals to improve teacher professionalism are implementing the Happy Monday program which is scheduled once a week every Monday.
