Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan: (1) keterampilan menulis Bahasa Jerman, dan (2) keaktifan peserta didik kelas XI Bahasa SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu melalui project based learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) keberhasilan produk, dan (2) keberhasilan proses. Strategi dalam penelitian ini ditentukan secara kolaboratif antara peneliti dengan guru. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI Bahasa SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu yang terdiri atas 32 peserta didik. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, angket, catatan lapangan, tes keterampilan menulis bahasa Jerman dan dokumentasi. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) metode project based learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis bahasa Jerman peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu, Bantul. Peningkatan nilai rata- rata keterampilan menulis peserta didik mencapai 9% dan (2) keaktifan peserta didik meningkat sebesar 10%. Improving german writing skills for grade Xi Language students of SMA N 1 Sedayu through project-based learning Abstract: This study aims to improve: (1) writing skills in German, (2) the activeness of students in class XI Language SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu through project-based learning. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Indicators of success in this study are (1) the success of the product and (2) the success of the process. The strategy in this study was determined collaboratively between the researcher and the teacher. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class XI Language SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu. The data in this study were obtained through interviews, observations, questionnaires, field notes, tests of German writing skills, and documentations. The data were analyzed in a descriptive qualitative manner. The results of this study indicate (1) that the project-based learning method can improve the German writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu, Bantul. The average of their scores improved by 9%. (2) The activeness of students improved up until 10%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) konflik dalam teks drama Romeo and Juliet karya William Shakespeare, (2) konflik dalam teks drama Kabale und Liebe karya Friedrich von Schiller, (3) perbandingan konflik dalam teks drama Romeo and Juliet karya William Shakespeare dan Kabale und Liebe karya Friedrich von Schiller. Sumber data penelitian meliputi teks drama Romeo and Juliet karya William Shakespeare dan Kabale und Liebe karya Friedrich von Schiller yang diterbitkan dari web Gutenberg. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konflik internal dan eksternal dalam drama Romeo and Juliet karya William Shakespeare dan dalam drama Kabale und Liebe karya Friedrich von Schiller. Selain itu, beberapa persamaan dan juga perbedaan konflik dalam kedua drama. Persamaan dan perbedaan ini berupa konflik internal dan juga konflik eksternal. Selain itu, persamaan (afinity) dalam kedua drama ini juga dapat dilihat dari penulis drama. William Shakespeare menulis drama Romeo and Juliet saat sedang masa Renaisans dan ingin mengekspresikan Humanisme atau kebebasan individu dalam menjadi manusia. Friedrich von Schiller menciptakan drama Kabale und Liebe sebagai bentuk pemberontakan atas absoultisme kaum bangsawan. Schiller menulis karya ini saat masa Epoche Sturm und Drang. Kedua karya ini memiliki keterkaitan dan juga pengaruh (influence). William Shakespeare menulis karya ini pada tahun 1597 dan mempengaruhi Schiller dalam menulis Kabale und Liebe pada tahun 1782. Comparison of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet's conflict and Schiller's Kabale und Liebe Abstract: This research aims to describe (1) the conflicts in the drama text of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, (2) the conflicts in the drama text of "Kabale und Liebe" by Friedrich von Schiller, (3) a comparison of conflicts in the drama texts of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare and "Kabale und Liebe" by Friedrich von Schiller. The data sources for this research include the drama texts of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare and "Kabale und Liebe" by Friedrich von Schiller, published on the Gutenberg website. The results of this research indicate that there are both internal and external conflicts in the drama "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare and in the drama "Kabale und Liebe" by Friedrich von Schiller. Furthermore, there are similarities and differences in the conflicts within both dramas, encompassing both internal and external conflicts. Additionally, the similarities (affinity) in these two dramas can also be seen in the playwrights. William Shakespeare wrote "Romeo and Juliet" during the Renaissance period, aiming to express humanism and individual freedom in becoming human. Friedrich von Schiller created "Kabale und Liebe" as a form of rebellion against the absolutism of the aristocracy. Schiller wrote this work during the Sturm und Drang era. These two works are interconnected and have influenced each other. William Shakespeare wrote his work in 1597 and influenced Schiller in writing "Kabale und Liebe" in 1782.

Abstract

Indonesian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi citra laki-laki dalam novel Artha karya Bayu Permana melalui kajian semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, melalui pendekatan analisis naratif untuk mengidentifikasi kode-kode semiotik yang membentuk karakter laki-laki dalam cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa citra laki-laki, terutama tokoh Arkan, digambarkan sebagai sosok yang kompleks; ia memiliki sifat galak dan dingin namun juga mampu menunjukkan kelembutan dalam hubungan dengan Agatha. Temuan ini mengungkapkan bahwa representasi tersebut mencerminkan dinamika gender dan konflik emosional yang ada dalam konteks remaja. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa novel Artha tidak hanya menyajikan kisah cinta, tetapi juga menggambarkan realitas sosial yang lebih luas melalui karakterisasi yang mendalam. English: This research aims to analyze the representation of male image in Artha novel by Bayu Permana through Roland Barthes semiotic study. The method used is qualitative, with a narrative analysis approach to identify semiotic codes that shape male characters in the story. The results show that the image of men, especially the character Arkan, is portrayed as a complex figure; he has a fierce and cold nature but is also able to show tenderness in his relationship with Agatha. The findings reveal that these representations reflect the gender dynamics and emotional conflicts that exist in the context of adolescence. The conclusion of this study is that Artha’s novel not only presents a love story, but also depicts a broader social reality through in-depth characterization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Bildergeschichte media in learning German writing skills of XII grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Bantul. This research is a Quasi Experiment with One Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design. This study consists of two variables, namely the independent variable in the form of Bildergeschichte media (X) and the dependent variable in the form of German writing skills (Y). The population of this study were students of class XII SMA Negeri 3 Bantul. With the Purposive Sampling technique, the sample of this research was 35 students. The data in this study were obtained using a writing skill test. Data analysis used the Paired Sample T-Test test. The result of this study showed that the writing skill of the students of grade XII SMA Negeri 3 Bantul was better after using Bildergeschichte media than when not using Bildergeschichte media. The use of Bildergeschichte media is effective in learning German writing skills of 12th-grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Bantul. Keywords: German, Bildergeschichte, Media, Writing Skills

Abstract

This research aimed to determine (1) the difference in students' learning achievement between those taught with the Course Review Horay method and conventional methods, (2) the effectiveness of using the Course Review Horay method in learning German listening skills. This research is a quasi-experiment. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul with XI MIPA 3 class as the experimental class and XI MIPA 5 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the pre-test and post-test of German listening skills. T-test with significance level of 0.05 was used for data analysis. The data obtained t_count value of 3.033 is greater than t_table of 1.668 at 0.05 level of significance. The data shows that there is a difference in learning achievement between the experimental class and the control class. The mean post-test of the experimental class of 80.29 was greater than the control class of 74.97 with an effectiveness weight of 8.61%. It can be concluded that the use of Course Review Horay method is effective in learning German listening skills of XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul.

Abstract

Indonesian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mendeskripsikan implementasi program PASCH-Schule di SMAN 3 Yogyakarta; (2) Mendeskripsikan pengaruh program PASCH-Schule dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jerman di SMAN 3 Yogyakarta; (3) Mendeskripsikan pengaruh program PASCH-Schule terhadap prestasi peserta didik di SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah pendidik dan peserta didik SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah data wawancara dan dokumen yang dihimpun dari pendidik dan peserta didik. Data yang telah didapat dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Keabsahan data diperoleh dengan uji reliabilitas dan validitasnya ditambahkan dengan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat beberapa perbedaan dalam proses belajar mengajar bahasa Jerman dengan adanya program PASCH-Schule; (2) adanya program PASCH-Schule memberikan pengaruh terhadap sekolah, pendidik, dan peserta didik; (3) berjalannya program PASCH-Schule memberikan dampak positif terhadap prestasi peserta didik dan sekolah. English: This research aims to: (1) to describe the implementation of PASCH-Schule program at SMAN 3 Yogyakarta; (2) to describe the influence of PASCH-Schule program in German language learning at SMAN 3 Yogyakarta; (3) to describe the influence of PASCH-Schule program on students' achievement at SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. This research is qualitative research with qualitative approach. Data were obtained by interview, observation, and documentation. The sources of data in this study were educators and students of SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. The instruments of this research are interview data and documents collected from educators and students. The data that has been obtained is analyzed with qualitative descriptive techniques. Data validity was obtained by reliability test and validity was added by data triangulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) there are several differences in the German language teaching and learning process with the PASCH-Schule program; (2) the existence of the PASCH-Schule program has an influence on schools, educators, and students; (3) the running of the PASCH-Schule program has a positive impact on the achievement of students and schools.

Abstract

The focus of this research aims to describe 1) the types of German cohesion devices and 2) the equivalent types of cohesion devices in Indonesian used in the Kinderroman Emil und die Detektive by Erich Kästner which was first published in 1929. This study is a qualitative research with the subject of the Kinderroman Emil und die Detektive by Erich Kästner and its translation entitled Emil and the Secret Police. The object of this research is all cohesion devices contained in the sentences of Kinderroman Emil und die Detektive and their equivalents in Indonesian. Data collection uses the listening method with the basic technique of tapping and the advanced technique of note-taking. Agih method, referential pairing method, and translational pairing method are the methods used for data analysis. Data validity was tested through intrarater and expert judgment. The results of this study are as follows. 1) There are 2131 cohesion devices used in Kinderroman Emil und die Detektive consisting of 56 repetitions, 379 coordinative conjunctions, 81 subordinative conjunctions, 66 substitutions, 909 forms of reference, 342 articles, 199 omissions, and 99 deixis. 2) A total of 1593 equivalent types of cohesion devices in Indonesian consisting of 847 references, 56 substitutions, 199 ellipses, 350 coordinative conjunctions, 69 subordinative conjunctions, and 72 reiterations.

Abstract

Merz, pioneered by Kurt Schwitters, advocates for the liberation from the artistic rules that confine it, making it a revolution in the field of art, particularly in German literature. Schwitters depicted this liberation through the representation of traditional and modern visions in his first Merz poem, "An Anna Blume." Therefore, this research aims to elucidate Schwitters' perspective in confronting change and connecting tradition with modernity as depicted in this poem. The approach employed in this research is a semiotic approach utilizing Riffaterre's semiotics theory. The technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The primary source of this study is Kurt Schwitters' poem "An Anna Blume." Data collection is conducted through observation, heuristic reading, and hermeneutic reading. The research instrument is the researcher themselves, acting as the human instrument. Data validity is obtained through semantic validity, intrarater, and interrater reliability. Data analysis is carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis. The research findings are as follows: (1) Heuristic reading portrays Anna Blume as breaking old conventions, being mysterious and unique. (2) The discontinuity of expression is caused by meaning replacement meaning deviation, and meaning creation (3) Hermeneutic reading reveals the necessity for tradition and innovation to coexist when facing social and cultural changes. (4) The poem's matrix is the shift in the role of women in the context of modernity, with the model being the coexistence of tradition and innovation. This model is then developed into variants found in each stanza. (5) The potential hypogram in this poem is the integration of tradition and innovation in dealing with change. Meanwhile, the actual hypogram is the November 1918 Revolution and the birth of the Weimar Republic in 1919. Keywords: Analysis, Poetry, Riffaterre, Semiotic, Tradition

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of loneliness aspects experienced by the main character in the romance Die Verwandlung by Franz Kafka using literary psychology studies. This research uses a psychological approach by utilizing Bruno's theory of loneliness. The research data collected in the form of quotations of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs that describe aspects of loneliness based on Bruno's theory, experienced by the main character in the romance Die Verwandlung. The data source in this research is obtained from the romance Die Verwandlung by Franz Kafka. The research instrument in this research is human instrument or the researcher himself. Data collection techniques used reading and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative technique, which describes the aspects of loneliness that occur in the main character. The validity of the data in this study was obtained by using semantic validity. The results showed that:  There are 46 data divided into 7 aspects of loneliness experienced by Gregor Samsa in the romance Die Verwandlung, including 1) Isolation, 2) Rejection, 3) Feeling not understood, 4) Feeling unloved, 5) Having no friends, 6) Feeling bored, and 7) Restlessness. Of the seven aspects of loneliness, feelings of isolation, rejection and feeling unloved are the most common aspects found in this study, totaling 11 data from each of these aspects.

Abstract

This reseacrh aims to find out (1) the improvement of German speaking skills and (2) the increase in the activeness of students at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman through the media of Kamishibai. This type of research is Classroom Action Research which is carried out in two cycles. Kemmis & Taggart (1992:6) stated that each action research cycle consists of four stages, planning, acting, observing, and reflection. The subjects of this study consisted of 36 students. The data in the study was obtained from observations, interviews, questionnaires, field notes, documentation, and assessment results. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive. The results of this study show that there is an increase in German speaking skills and an increase in students' activeness in learning German at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman. There was an increase in the mean score of students' speaking skills by 13.7% and 100% of students stated that Kamishibai media helped in increasing the activity of learning German.
