Abstract

Social media with many varieties no longer has user segmentation. Mc Luhan's famous phrase about the medium is the message and the global village is finally answered. That there is no message in the media that does not contain a meaning and that no message is distributed without the intent / purpose. In the case of social media, these messages are distorted to be more than just meanings. It has been transformed into a waste of information due to the overlapping of the same information. Message producers and message consumers become biased. While the identity of users of social media continues to change due to the mingling of behavior, community and reality between the virtual and the real. This research tries to see the unique phenomena that occur due to communication patterns that are intertwined in cyberspace and the real world so as to form an online-offline identity. Cyber culture that occurs in the academic environment becomes more varied due to the need for identity in cyberspace and in the real world. Social media is a place to look for identity or just throw away information for nothing. By combining the concept of cyber culture and the communication map of the cyber community on social media, online-offline identity representations can be identified.

Abstract

This study investigated the extent to which psychomotor skills are assessed in higher education and proposed a framework to enhance the assessment of these skills. While higher education institutions globally assess students' knowledge thoroughly, the assessment of psychomotor skills is often implicit, unsystematic, and inadequate. This research aims to address this gap by using Bloom's taxonomy to develop a comprehensive assessment framework. The research question was: "How can Bloom's taxonomy’s psychomotor domain be used to create a framework for assessing psychomotor skills?" A quantitative method was employed, utilizing the Trilogy Assessment Psychomotor Domain Inventory to gather data from 268 South African University of Technology lecturers. Analysis with SPSS version 28.0 and reliability testing showed high internal consistency. Findings revealed that 54% of lecturers did not assess psychomotor skills, highlighting the necessity for a structured assessment framework to improve learning and teaching outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of multicultural education from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in higher education. Multicultural education emphasizes respect for diversity in ethnicity, culture, religion, and social values as an integral part of the learning process. Within the context of IRE, multicultural education does not merely focus on cognitive aspects but also on cultivating tolerance, religious moderation, and appreciation for differences among students. This research employs a literature review method by examining books, scientific articles, and previous relevant studies. The findings indicate that the concept of multicultural education in Islamic teachings is closely related to the principle of rahmatan lil ‘alamin, the notion of ukhuwah (Islamic, national, and human brotherhood), as well as the values of justice and equality reflected in the Qur’an and Hadith. In the higher education setting, IRE holds a strategic role in embedding multicultural awareness through the integration of tolerance, respect for diversity, and social cooperation into teaching and learning practices. Therefore, the implementation of multicultural education in IRE can serve as a foundation for fostering social harmony and strengthening students’ national character amidst diversity in academic environments.
