Abstract

Community service is an integral part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, its implementation inseparable from the other two Dharma and involves the entire academic community: lecturers, students, education staff, and alumni. Service to the global community, through various collaborative activities with international partners, can be achieved worldwide. Lecturers' duties extend beyond education, including conducting research and developing innovations, as well as preserving and developing superior, beneficial knowledge for the community. Therefore, in relation to community service at the Al-Qolam University of Malang, lecturers are mandated with the task of PROVIDING SUCCESSFUL TIPS FOR JOURNAL WRITING FOR STUDENTS AT AL-QOLAM UNIVERSITY OF MALANG. Among the benefits are increasing student awareness and publishing written works.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to strengthen students’ understanding of religious moderation, foster tolerance and inclusivity, and reinforce national commitment through character education at State Senior High School 2 Tuban. The program was motivated by the increasing signs of intolerance among students and the urgent need to promote pluralism and harmony in educational settings. The activity employed an educative-participatory approach, combining seminars, interactive discussions, reflective sessions, and interfaith simulations involving students from diverse religious backgrounds. Data were collected through participatory observation, reflective questionnaires, and documentation. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding of religious moderation, from perceiving it merely as tolerance to recognizing it as a framework of justice, balance, social responsibility, and anti-extremism. Students also demonstrated greater openness, empathy, and respect toward religious differences in their daily interactions. Furthermore, the program strengthened students’ national commitment by instilling the awareness that loving the homeland and maintaining social harmony are integral expressions of religious practice. Overall, this Community Service Program activity demonstrated that experience-based, participatory learning effectively internalizes the values of religious moderation. It is recommended that similar programs be sustained and integrated into school curricula to cultivate tolerant, inclusive, and nationally minded students.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of integrating livestock manure management and health promotion on community well-being, utilizing the SISDAMAS (Community Empowerment System) approach. Through a holistic perspective, this research analyzes how effective waste management can enhance environmental quality, public health, and provide economic benefits to farmers and surrounding communities. The findings are expected to yield comprehensive policy recommendations for achieving sustainable waste management and improving the quality of life. Additionally, this study will explore how health education can raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and utilizing resources sustainably. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of work discipline as a moderating variable in the relationship between self-reward and employee job satisfaction. In the modern work era, the phenomenon of self-reward has emerged as an individual coping mechanism against workload, but its effectiveness in generating long-term job satisfaction is often questioned without self-regulation. Using a quantitative approach with the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method, this study examines how an individual's level of discipline strengthens or weakens the impact of self-appreciation on their professional satisfaction. The results show that self-reward has a positive effect on job satisfaction, but work discipline plays a crucial role as a moderator that ensures that self-reward behavior does not slip into procrastination. High work discipline is found to optimize this relationship, creating a balance between psychological well-being and organizational productivity.

Abstract

Social justice is one of the fundamental values (main principles) in Islamic teachings which is in line with the main purpose of establishing Islamic law. Maqasid al-shari'ah aims to realize human benefits and prevent various forms of social damage. In the context of contemporary society faced with the problems of economic inequality, discrimination, structural injustice, as well as the dynamics of globalization and rapid social change, the concept of maqasid is becoming increasingly urgent to be studied. This article aims to analyze the concept of social justice in the perspective of maqasid al-shari'ah as well as its relevance in the reform of contemporary Islamic law by highlighting Jasser Auda's thinking that offers a systems approach in the development of maqasid. The research method used is a literature study with a normative-philosophical qualitative approach through the analysis of relevant literature and legal documents. The results of the study show that Maqaṣid al-Sharia is not only normative-theological, but also applicable and contextual in responding to modern social and legal challenges. The reformulation of maqaṣid initiated by Jasser Auda emphasizes aspects of human resource development, human rights protection, and the character of the Islamic legal system that is holistic, open, multidimensional, and oriented towards the goal of benefit. The application of maqāṣid in the field of family law and sharia economic law shows that Islamic law can be more just, moderate, humanistic, and responsive to the needs of contemporary society.

Abstract

The Quranic verses 3 and 129 of Surah An-Nisa, which discuss polygamy, remain a hot topic of debate in Islamic Family Law studies. This is particularly true regarding the justice intended as a prerequisite for the permissibility of polygamy. In social reality, polygamy is often practiced solely in accordance with formal law without considering the deeper aspects of justice, namely the ethical and humanitarian aspects that constitute the primary objectives of the Quran. This article aims to analyze the meaning of justice in the verses on polygamy through a hermeneutical approach and examine the gap between the moral ideals outlined in the Quranic verses and the practice of polygamy in society. The research method employed is descriptive-normative, analyzing Quranic verses through classical and contemporary interpretations as well as literature related to hermeneutical theory and Islamic family law. The results indicate that justice in the Quranic verses 3 and 129 of Surah An-Nisa encompasses not only material justice but also justice in substance, psychology, and human dignity. From a hermeneutical perspective, polygamy is interpreted as a limited and conditional social solution, rather than a goal. Thus, the ethical principles of the Quran consider monogamy as the form of relationship closest to the principle of justice. This article examines the significance of understanding polygamy in relation to substantive justice, the protection of women, and the social dynamics of modern society.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop learning modules on human reproductive system materials based on science literacy for junior high school students. The development procedure uses a 3D model, namely with several stages: the Define stage, the Design stage, and the Develop stage. The instruments in this study are module validation sheets and student learning outcome test validation sheets. The validity test uses a likert scale with four categories, namely very lacking, lacking, good and very good. Validity testing is carried out by 4 expert validators. The test results on the module show that the module is validated in the valid category without revision with a percentage of 85.85%. The test results on the student learning outcome test instrument showed that the development test instrument was validated in the valid category with a small revision with a percentage of 84.75%. Modules that have been validated can be used in the next stage of the development process, namely the application of the product to the learning process in schools.

Abstract

This study examines the constitutionality of imposing criminal sanctions on public policies that have criminal implications. The research is motivated by the increasing phenomenon of policy criminalization, which has created legal uncertainty for public officials in performing governmental duties. The objectives of this study are to analyze the constitutional limits of criminal liability in public policy, to identify the legal problems arising from the criminalization of policy, and to formulate an ideal model for the application of criminal sanctions in accordance with the principles of the rule of law. This research employs a normative legal method with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. Legal materials were analyzed qualitatively through library research involving legislation, legal doctrines, and relevant court decisions. The findings reveal that not every public policy resulting in loss can be criminalized, but must meet constitutional parameters such as the existence of mens rea, abuse of authority, real and measurable loss, and clear violation of law. The practice of criminalizing public policy generates various problems, including over-criminalization, chilling effects on decision-making, and conflicts between administrative discretion and criminal law enforcement. This study concludes that the application of criminal sanctions to public policy must be positioned as ultimum remedium through the synchronization of administrative law, constitutional law, and criminal law. The proposed ideal model emphasizes the prioritization of administrative sanctions and the formulation of clear legal parameters to ensure that law enforcement remains constitutional, proportional, and supportive of effective governance.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the use of classroom assessment to improve 4A SD Negeri Belitung Selatan 5 mathematics learning outcomes through the trial by error method. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted over one semester by utilizing the Mid-Semester Summative Assessment (STS) as baseline data and the End-of-Semester Summative Assessment (SAS) as final data. The research instruments consisted of a 25-item multiple-choice test administered in both STS and SAS to ensure measurement consistency, as well as non-test instruments in the form of classroom observations and reflective notes. The results indicated an increase in the class average score from 55,00 in STS to 61,00 in SAS. The percentage of students achieving mastery learning improved from 35,71% to 53,57%. The N-Gain value of 0,13 fell into the low category, indicating that the improvement in learning outcomes occurred gradually. Nevertheless, the increased number of students reaching the minimum mastery criterion demonstrated that optimizing assessment contributed to a more equitable distribution of learning achievement. Observational findings revealed that students became more responsive to assessment feedback, were able to correct their mistakes, and showed greater confidence in solving mathematical problems. This study concludes that the reflective use of classroom assessment through the trial by error method is effective in gradually improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes over one semester. Abstract

The Jlantah Reservoir in Karanganyar holds significant potential as a water resource and tourist attraction; however, its management requires active participation from the local community to ensure sustainability. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to empower the Reservoir Care Community by enhancing their understanding and skills in environmental management and the utilization of creative economic potential. The methods employed include participatory socialization, environmental governance training, and mentoring in the establishment of community business units. The results of this activity indicate an increase in community awareness regarding the preservation of the reservoir's ecosystem and the formation of a collaborative framework between the community and the local government. Through this empowerment, it is expected that the Jlantah Reservoir will not only be ecologically preserved but also provide a positive economic impact on the welfare of the surrounding residents.
