Abstract

Teachers are the main pillars in shaping the future of society and the younger generation. This paper describes three important aspects in the context of education: career development, protection and respect for teachers. Teacher career development is a key tool in improving teacher competencies. Teachers must have access to training and resources that allow them to keep up with modern education. Teacher protection is essential in covering physical, mental and social aspects. Teachers should work in a safe and supportive environment. Rewarding teachers plays a big role in increasing motivation and dedication for teachers. Rewards can be in the form of salary increases, public recognition, or respect for the teaching profession. The method used was to review several articles and journals related to teacher career development, protection and reward. Therefore, the quality of education can be improved with the quality of teachers who meet the standardization and create a more educated and inspired generation.

Abstract

The existence of the newest independent curriculum education system which is interrelated raises registers, especially in the field of education. This study aims to describe the register of education in independent curriculum. Independent Curriculum is made an object because it is the newest curriculum in Indonesia and more than 2,500 schools have implemented it. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a sociolinguistic approach. The data was taken using qualitative data, namely objects in the form of registers found on the official Youtube account of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and official literature from the Ministry of Education and Culture. The technique used is the technique of listening, taking notes, and concluding. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that in the lingual register there are 6 lingual registers. There are 17 closed registers and 8 open registers.

Abstract

One of the most important areas of young learners strategy research is the employment of reading strategy for English as a foreign language (EFL) learners. Students who actively utilize their reading comprehension strategies can comprehend and recall more information from what they read, as well as improve their language proficiency. This paper describes Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA) that facilitates young learners to enhance their English reading comprehension. The writer reviewed many of research studies of reading strategy use to develop reading proficiency and then conclude that the use of CALLA, the reading strategy instructions, is very significant and has a direct effect on young learners’ reading performance.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Globalization and digitalization are two phenomena that cannot be separated from human life today, including in the field of education. Globalization has opened wider access to information and communication, while digitalization has presented various technologies that can be used in the learning process.In this paper, we will discuss the impact of globalization and digitalization on education, both from a positive and negative perspective. Positive impacts include increased access and quality of education, while negative impacts include misuse of technology and moral degradation.Islamic education is also not immune from the influence of globalization and digitalization. To face these challenges, Islamic education needs to make various adaptations and innovations, including by developing a curriculum that is relevant to the needs of the times, utilizing technology wisely, and instilling strong moral values. ABSTRAK Globalisasi dan digitalisasi adalah dua fenomena yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dari kehidupan manusia saat ini, termasuk di bidang pendidikan. Globalisasi telah membuka akses yang lebih luas ke informasi dan komunikasi, sementara digitalisasi telah memperkenalkan berbagai teknologi yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Dalam makalah ini, kita akan membahas dampak globalisasi dan digitalisasi pada pendidikan, baik dari sudut pandang positif maupun negatif. Dampak positifnya meliputi peningkatan akses dan kualitas pendidikan, sementara dampak negatifnya mencakup penyalahgunaan teknologi dan degradasi moral.Pendidikan Islam juga tidak luput dari pengaruh globalisasi dan digitalisasi. Untuk menghadapi tantangan ini, pendidikan Islam perlu melakukan berbagai penyesuaian dan inovasi, termasuk dengan mengembangkan kurikulum yang relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman, menggunakan teknologi dengan bijaksana, dan menanamkan nilai-nilai moral yang kuat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The curriculum changes significantly impact the development of education, with teacher performance being a crucial factor. This research examines the influence of Teacher Working Groups (KKG) programs and academic supervision on the performance of Elementary School teachers in the Pangeran Antasari cluster, Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru. The study findings reveal that the KKG program has a positive and significant impact (54.6%) on teacher performance, particularly in development, skills, attitudes, and the performance of KKG members. Additionally, academic supervision also exerts a positive and significant influence (57.4%), especially in the implementation of supervision. Furthermore, when the KKG program and academic supervision are enhanced together, they have a highly significant impact (p = 0.000) on improving the performance of Elementary School teachers. These findings indicate that the enhancement of both KKG programs and academic supervision can substantially enhance teacher performance. KKG functions as a platform for development through teacher study groups, while academic supervision assists in improving teaching abilities, especially in the aspect of supervision implementation. This research provides crucial insights for elementary education development, emphasizing the vital role of KKG programs and academic supervision in enhancing educational quality. ABSTRAK Perubahan kurikulum telah signifikan memengaruhi perkembangan pendidikan, dengan kinerja guru menjadi faktor kunci. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh program Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG) dan supervisi akademik terhadap kinerja guru Sekolah Dasar di Gugus Pangeran Antasari, Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program KKG memiliki dampak positif dan signifikan (54,6%) terhadap kinerja guru, terutama dalam pengembangan, keterampilan, sikap, dan kinerja anggota KKG. Sementara itu, supervisi akademik juga memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan (57,4%), khususnya pada aspek pelaksanaan supervisi. Lebih jauh, ketika program KKG dan supervisi akademik ditingkatkan bersama-sama, mereka memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan (p = 0,000) terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru Sekolah Dasar. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan program KKG dan supervisi akademik dapat meningkatkan kinerja guru secara substansial. KKG berperan sebagai platform pengembangan melalui kelompok belajar guru, sementara supervisi akademik membantu meningkatkan kemampuan keguruannya, terutama melalui aspek pelaksanaan supervisi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan pendidikan di tingkat dasar dengan menekankan peran penting program KKG dan supervisi akademik dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to describe the strategic management of madrasah heads in the learning process at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Hulu Sungai Selatan. This research is categorized as descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at MIN 11 HSS, MIN 12 HSS, MIN 13 HSS, and MIN 14 HSS. data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that 1) The strategic management of the madrasa head in the learning process at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Hulu Sungai Selatan, includes a) Quality of learning input by planning the madrasa program which refers to 8 educational standards, increasing learning activities, and increasing the professionalism of teachers in the madrasah through KKG MGMP. b) Quality of the learning process, consisting of planning, process and evaluation with the steps of involving teachers in teacher training regarding the preparation of PAIKEM lesson plans and using learning models/methods/approaches that suit the characteristics of students and make learning fun c) Quality of learning output, by increasing academic and non-academic achievements by providing support and facilities as well as participating in academic/scientific/non-academic competition activities. d) The quality of learning outcomes is increasing public trust in the school, being able to guarantee the quality of its graduates, and being able to compete with other school institutions. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen strategi kepala madrasah dalam proses pembelajaran di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Hulu Sungai Selatan. Penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MIN 11 HSS, MIN 12 HSS, MIN 13 HSS, dan MIN 14 HSS. teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian memaparkan bahwa 1) Manajemen strategi kepala madrasah dalam proses pembelajaran di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Hulu Sungai Selatan, meliputi a) Mutu Input pembelajaran dengan cara Melakukan perencanaan program madrasah yang mengacu pada 8 standar pendidikan, Meningkatkan aktivitas belajar, serta Meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dimadrasah melalui KKG MGMP. b) Mutu proses pembelajaran, terdiri dari perencanaan, proses, dan evaluasi dengan langkah Mengikutsertakan guru dalam pelatihan-pelatihan keguruan untuk mengenai penyusunan RPP yang PAIKEM dan Menggunakan model/metode/pendekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik serta membuat pembelajaran menjadi menyenangkan c) Mutu output pembelajaran, dengan peningkatan Prestasi Akademik dan non akademik dengan langkah memberikan dukungan dan fasilitas serta Mengikut sertakan pada kegiatan lomba akademi/Ilmiah/non akademik. d) Mutu outcume pembelajaran adalah Meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat kepada sekolah, dapat menjamin mutu lulusannya, dapat bersaing dengan lembaga sekolah lain.

Abstract

Concepts in chemistry are mostly abstract concepts. The low understanding of chemical concepts results in concept errors. Students' concept errors can be identified by giving tests and analyzing students' answers to the questions given. The purpose of the study was to describe concept errors in the material of chemical formulas, names and reaction equations using a four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 54 students of class X IPA MAN 1 Banjarmasin. The object of research is the conceptual errors of chemical formulas, names and chemical reaction equations in students. The instruments used were four tier diaganostic tests and interviews to analyze students' concept errors. The results showed that students experienced concept errors that occurred in the concepts of: (a) chemical formulas (determining molecular and empirical formulas had concept errors) by 20.4% (b) compound names (determining the name of polyatomic compounds according to IUPAC rules) by 27.8%, (determining the name of basic compounds) by 26%, (c) reaction equations (equalizing reaction equations) by 33.6%. Fourtier multiple choice diagnostic test is effective to determine students' conceptual errors.   Konsep dalam ilmu kimia sebagian besar berupa konsep abstrak. Rendahnya pemahaman konsep-konsep kimia sehingga menimbulkan kesalahan konsep. Kesalahan konsep siswa dapat diketahui dengan memberikan tes dan menganalisis jawaban siswa terhadap soal yang diberikan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan konsep pada materi rumus kimia, tata nama dan persamaan reaksi menggunakan four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu 54 siswa kelas X IPA MAN 1 Banjarmasin. Objek penelitian yaitu kesalahan konsep rumus kimia, tata nama dan persamaan reaksi kimia pada siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes diaganostik four tier dan wawancara untuk menganalisis kesalahan konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa mengalami kesalahan konsep yang terjadi pada konsep: (a) rumus kimia (menentukan rumus molekul dan empiris mengalami kesalahan konsep) sebesar 20,4% (b) tata nama senyawa (menentukan tata nama senyawa poliatomik menurut aturan IUPAC) sebesar 27,8%, (menentukan tata nama senyawa basa) sebesar 26%, (c) persamaan reaksi (menyetarakan persamaan reaksi) sebesar 33,6%. Fourtier multiple choice diagnostic test efektif untuk mengetahui kesalahan konsep yang siswa.

Abstract

Habituation of language politeness used by school-age students is important. There are some students who still do not know or do not realize that the language they use is impolite. Many of them do not understand the manners in speaking to others. Therefore, teachers play an important role in the process of habituating students' language politeness. The purpose of this study is to describe the language politeness of grade 2 students of MIS Sungai Baru Banjarmasin and describe the role of teachers in habituating the language politeness of grade 2 students of MIS Sungai Baru Banjarmasin. This type of research is qualitative research in the form of describing data in the form of descriptive written or spoken words from the subjects and informants observed. The object under study is the language politeness of grade 2 students of MIS Sungai Baru Banjarmasin and the role of teachers in familiarizing students' language politeness. The subjects of this study consisted of the 2nd grade homeroom teacher, Arabic teacher, PJOK teacher, and 2nd grade students. The results of this study show that the form of language politeness of grade 2 students is the compliance and violation of language politeness consisting of maxims of generosity, maxims of appreciation, and maxims of simplicity. The role of the teacher in habituating students' language politeness includes strategies and gifts made in habituating the language politeness of grade 2 students of MIS Sungai Baru Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Based on Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System which states that educators are professionals, Kariman in the book written by Hamzah also stated that the professionalism of a teacher is a must.The role of the school principal is very large and influential in improving teacher competence and performance. One of the main functions of a school principal is supervisor, namely developing, training, educating, supervising, assessing and providing the best work example for all members of the organization he leads, namely the school. This research aims to critically analyze and describe the tasks and implementation of supervision activities as an effort to improve the performance of MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan Banjarmasin teachers. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach by observing people and their living environment, interacting with them, trying to understand their language and their interpretation of the world around them. Based on the results of this research, several points were obtained, including that the implementation of academic supervision at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al Furqan in Banjarmasin had been carried out, the principal carried out classroom observations. This can be seen from the results of the administrative document checklist made by all teachers, but only a small portion have not completed it. So, it can be concluded that teacher performance can be improved by implementing academic supervision carried out by the school principal. Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional yang menyatakan bahwa pendidik merupakan tenaga professional, Kariman dalam buku yang ditulis oleh Hamzah juga mengutarakan profesionalisme seorang guru merupakan suatu keharusan. Peranan kepala sekolah sangat besar dan berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan kinerja guru. Salah satu fungsi utama kepala sekolah adalah supervisor, yaitu membina, melatih, mendidik, mengawasi, menilai, dan memberikan contoh kerja terbaik bagi seluruh anggota organisasi yang dipimpinnya yaitu sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan secara kritis tugas dan implementasi kegiatan supervisi sebagai upaya meningkatan kinerja guru MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al-Furqan Banjarmasin. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengamati orang dan lingkungan hidupnya, berinteraksi dengan mereka, berusaha memahami bahasa mereka serta penapsiran mereka terhadap dunia sekitarnya. Beradasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menghasilkan beberapa poin di antaranya pelaksanaan supervisi akademik di MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Al Furqan di Banjarmasin telah terlaksana, kepala sekolah melakukan pengamatan pembelajaran di kelas. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil ceklis dokumen administrasi yang dibuat semua guru namun hanya sebagian kecil saja yang belum melengkapi. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja guru dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengimplementasikan supervisi akademik yang dilaksanakan oleh kepala sekolah.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the challenges and learning media of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) in high schools through a qualitative approach. The focus of this case study is high school students, where in-depth interviews and participatory observations were employed to gather contextual data. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns and main themes from the interviews and observations. The findings of the research reveal a profound understanding of high school students regarding the challenges in learning PPKn, involving their perceptions of the utilized learning media. Conclusions are drawn through synthesizing the findings, considering the differences and similarities in students' perspectives. The qualitative method was chosen for its efficiency in providing an in-depth understanding of students' perceptions within a limited timeframe. This research contributes to a better understanding of the dynamics of PPKn learning in high schools and lays the foundation for further improvements in the learning process. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi tantangan dan media pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) di SMA melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Fokus studi kasus ini adalah siswa SMA, di mana wawancara mendalam dan pengamatan partisipatif digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data kontekstual. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tema utama dari wawancara dan observasi.Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan pemahaman mendalam siswa/I SMA terhadap tantangan dalam pembelajaran PPKn, serta melibatkan persepsi mereka terhadap media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Kesimpulan ditarik melalui sintesis temuan, mempertimbangkan perbedaan dan persamaan pandangan siswa. Metode kualitatif dipilih karena memberikan pemahaman mendalam terkait persepsi siswa dalam batas waktu yang efisien. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap dinamika pembelajaran PPKn di SMA dan memberikan landasan bagi perbaikan lebih lanjut dalam proses pembelajaran ini.
