Abstract

As the 2024 Jakarta Governor Election approaches, digital footprints are increasingly significant in shaping public perception. Candidates are judged based on their vision, mission, and past digital activities, including social media statements and posts. This phenomenon can be seen from the resurfacing of old posts from two candidates, Ridwan Kamil and Pramono Anung, which contained vulgar humour and later became the subject of public debate, especially on the platform X. Many users revisited and reposted old posts from two candidates, Ridwan Kamil and Pramono Anung. Many users revisited and condemned the old posts, intensifying the discussion in the public sphere. Although the posts were not initially related to political interests, they have now become a reference for evaluating the character and integrity of candidates. Certain groups seem to be engaged in strategic framing in this context, directing greater public attention towards specific candidates even though the issue involves many parties.

Abstract

This study examines the reflection of hadith and Sufism in modern life, particularly in addressing the spiritual crisis faced by contemporary society in the digital era. Through qualitative analysis using a comprehensive literature review methodology, this research explores how classical Islamic spiritual teachings can be contextually adapted to meet contemporary challenges while maintaining their authentic essence. The study analyses various dimensions, including the relevance of prophetic traditions in solving modern problems, transforming Sufi practices in digital spaces, integrating spiritual values in professional life, and contributing Islamic mysticism to mental health. The findings indicate that hadith and Sufism remain highly relevant as spiritual foundations capable of addressing existential crises, meaning vacuum, and social alienation experienced by modern society. Digital technology, rather than eliminating spirituality, actually creates new spaces for spiritual practice and broader dissemination of Islamic teachings through applications, online communities, and digital platforms. However, digitalisation of spirituality requires careful attention to maintain authenticity and avoid reduction of spiritual experiences into mere digital content. The study concludes that successfully integrating hadith values and Sufi wisdom in modern life requires sophisticated hermeneutical approaches that enable contextual interpretation without compromising fundamental Islamic principles. This integration offers alternative solutions to materialism, individualism, and secularisation that characterise modern civilisation, while providing practical guidance for achieving spiritual balance in contemporary life.

Abstract

This article discusses political comparisons of social and political movements in China, namely the Beijing Tiananmen tragedy in 1989 and the May 1998 tragedy in Indonesia. This analysis is seen from aspects of the country’s government system, political and party system, and the implications of the demonstration results. China is a republic with a communist system, while Indonesia is a democracy with a presidential system. These two countries have different political systems, with China using a party political system, namely the Chinese Communist Party, while Indonesia has a multi-party political system. The data used in this research comes from secondary data, specifically through the historical comparison method, which was collected from various previous literature sources, namely websites, historical archives, and research validation journals. This article uses a social and political movement theory perspective. The research results show differences in social and political movements in China and Indonesia, according to the conclusion of the analysis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the challenges faced by voters with disabilities in the general elections in Indonesia and to explore the importance of collaborative governance in creating an inclusive election. This study employs a literature review method by collecting data from various sources, including journal articles and online publications. The analysis results indicate that voters with disabilities encounter multiple issues, such as the lack of integration of voter data, insufficient access to information, and difficulties in exercising their voting rights. Furthermore, collaboration between the General Election Commission (KPU) and disability organisations is crucial to provide the necessary assistive tools and training for election officials. This research concludes that implementing collaborative governance can enhance the participation of voters with disabilities and create a more inclusive election, allowing all citizens to participate fairly in the democratic process.

Abstract

This research aims to deconstructively describe the five faces of the central concept of maduraness, which has been stereotyped by many parties as full of subjective bias, so that such construction at its peak brings a negative stigma to the social reality of maduraness. For this reason, aligning academic understanding is necessary to prevent the stereotype from spreading like an uncontrollable virus. This research uses a qualitative-phenomenological method approach by conducting in-depth interviews with figures with purposive sampling techniques, as well as a serious literature review, so that many stereotypes of Madurese people are found, including: carok as a tradition, culture and identity of Madura, possessiveness of women, barbarism of cattle races and hyper egoism of Madurese people.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media based on Google Sites to increase students' interest in learning, especially in the material "The Importance of Having Shaja'ah Characteristics" at MAN Pematangsiantar. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The research results show that the use of Google Sites significantly increases students' interest in learning, which is reflected in positive student responses, increased participation during learning, and better evaluation results compared to conventional methods. The intuitive display and interactive features on Google Sites encourage active student involvement and make it easier to understand the values of honesty and courage according to Islamic teachings. This research concludes that Google Sites media is an effective and relevant learning tool in the digital era, with the support of technical guidance from teachers and parents to ensure its success.

Abstract

Elections in Madura reveal a paradox between deeply rooted traditions of peace and recurring practices of electoral violence. While the community is often characterized by strong social solidarity, religiosity, and cultural cohesion, episodes of violence frequently accompany political contests, especially during elections. This study explores three primary factors driving electoral violence in Madura: First, the patron-client culture that enables political mobilization through influential religious and local figures (kiai and blater), Second, the transformation of traditional familial solidarity (taretan) into partisan fanaticism, resulting in social conflicts, and third, the political economy of poverty, which fosters transactional politics and vote-buying. Using a qualitative approach and secondary data sources, this article argues that such violence stems from political rivalry and entrenched social structures, economic inequalities, and weak local law enforcement. The study highlights the need to strengthen electoral institutions, improve political literacy, and engage local leaders constructively to restore a culture of peaceful and participatory democracy in Madura.

Abstract

The rapid transformation of Islamic education in the digital era presents unique challenges for madrasah leadership in developing teacher competencies. The phenomenon of educational quality gaps between madrasah and conventional schools, particularly in technological literacy and innovative teaching methods, requires effective leadership strategies that integrate Islamic values with contemporary educational management. This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership role of madrasah principals in developing teacher competence through an Islamic values-based integrative model at Bustanuddin Galis Pamekasan Islamic Educational Institution. Employing a qualitative approach with single case study design, this six-month research utilized in-depth interviews with 20 purposively selected informants (including the principal, vice principals, subject teacher association coordinators, and teachers), participatory observation, and comprehensive document analysis of strategic plans, work programs, and professional development reports. The findings reveal that the principal successfully implements transformational leadership integrated with Islamic values (uswatun hasanah, syura, and spiritual motivation), resulting in a comprehensive teacher competency development model comprising seven key strategies: needs-based programs, in-house training, subject teacher association strengthening, mentoring systems, classroom action research, technology integration, and comparative studies. The research generates an innovative integrative model that combines professional and spiritual development aspects, demonstrating 85% improvement in teacher pedagogical competence and 78% enhancement in professional competence, contributing significantly to madrasah education quality enhancement and providing empirical evidence for Islamic educational leadership effectiveness.
