Abstract

The development of science and technology has given birth to various media that can be used to develop learning. The reason for the use of learning media is the emergence of various limitations in teaching and learning activities. The method used in writing this scientific paper is a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach. Learning willingness is everything that is used as an intermediary or liaison from the informer, namely the educator, to the recipient of the information, namely the learner. There are three characteristics of learning media, including relative, manipulative, and distributive. Learning media is divided into 4 types, namely visual, audio, audio-visual, and multimedia.  The main function of learning media can be useful as an auxiliary tool in efficient and effective learning. The use of learning media in teaching has several criteria in the selection of media. There are three stages in using learning media in teaching, namely the preparation, presentation, and closing stages. The use of learning media in the teaching and learning process can arouse desires, minat and, motivation, and stimulation of learning activities.

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) learning in elementary schools requires appropriate learning media to help students understand the material and improve learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the types of learning media used, identify the most frequently used media, and analyze the contribution of learning media use to the science learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN Mojoroto 2, Kediri City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects consisted of the principal, third-grade teachers, and third-grade students at SDN Mojoroto 2, Kediri City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, while data validity was obtained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the media used included PowerPoint (PPT), posters, pictures, learning videos, simple teaching aids, and digital learning resources. The most frequently used media was PowerPoint (42.9%), followed by posters (28.6%), learning videos (14.3%), and pictures (14.3%). The use of learning media contributed positively to improving students' understanding of concepts, motivation, activeness, and science learning outcomes. Abstract

Character building among students is a primary goal of primary education, reinforced through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile within the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to describe the forms of good habits that contribute to shaping the Pancasila Student Profile and to explain the process of their implementation in primary schools. A qualitative approach was employed, involving school principals, classroom teachers, and students as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model; data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the implemented good habits include praying before and after lessons, discipline, responsibility, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), maintaining environmental cleanliness, mutual respect, healthy living practices, and the execution of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). These habits are instilled through teacher role-modeling, routine practice, school culture, and integration into the instructional process. The findings demonstrate that consistently practiced habits support the development of student character in alignment with the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile and strengthen character education in primary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in Pragmalinguicric based Indonesian language teaching materials. A teaching module that employs the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach is a learning design developed by considering students’ needs in order to facilitate their understanding of learning competencies and skills. The Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach emphasizes instruction that is adjusted to students’ actual ability levels. Meanwhile, the pragmalinguistic content in the teaching materials is aimed at developing students’ ability to use language contextually, including speech acts, linguistic politeness, and the selection of linguistic forms appropriate to communicative situations. Pragmalinguistics encompasses the choice of linguistic forms that align with communicative purposes, speech acts, and politeness. Teaching materials containing pragmalinguistic elements help students engage in real communication across various social situations. This study employed a qualitative approach using descriptive analysis. The qualitative descriptive analysis method was used to describe the research data related to the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in Indonesian language teaching modules based on pragmalinguistics. Data were collected through field research involving Indonesian language teachers and the Indonesian language learning process at the junior high school level. The research subjects were teachers and students of junior high schools in Semarang City. The findings indicate that the application of the TaRL approach enables teachers to group students, and that the Indonesian language teaching materials based on pragmalinguistics are adjusted to the conditions and characteristics of the students, ranging from simpler language structures to more complex utterances.
