Abstract

This community service aims to socialize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum for learning supervision in inclusion service programs in education units. The activity involved 2,500 participants, including education supervisors, principals, and teachers in Jombang district. Conducted on April 3, 2024, via Zoom and YouTube Live, the session lasted 90 minutes from 09.00 to 10.30 WIB. The event utilized an interactive dialogue approach, engaging policymakers from the Jombang District Education Office and related agencies. This initiative yielded significant outcomes. First, it enhanced participants' understanding of the importance of learning supervision in inclusion programs, which is crucial for ensuring the optimal implementation of these programs in schools. Second, it initiated plans for subsequent interactive dialogues on supervisory themes in inclusion programs, fostering continued collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders. Moreover, the activity provided actionable recommendations for policy enhancements to strengthen the supervision process, enabling more structured and effective practices in inclusive education. These policy recommendations are expected to address challenges in the field, such as resource allocation, training for educators, and monitoring mechanisms. This community service highlights the critical role of collaboration between policymakers, educators, and schools in advancing inclusive education, thereby supporting the broader goals of equitable access and quality education for all students in the Jombang district.

Abstract

Polongbangkeng Utara, a region in Takalar Regency, is known for its agricultural production, particularly rice and yellow corn. However, despite its potential, corn has traditionally been sold only in its raw kernel form, limiting the economic benefits for local farmers. To address this issue, there is a pressing need to educate the community on processing and marketing corn-based products through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by leveraging digital social media platforms. This community service initiative aims to enhance local knowledge on optimizing yellow corn utilization to increase income, develop applications to support yellow corn production, assist start-ups in yellow corn agribusiness, and provide training on utilizing marketplaces and e-marketing strategies through Android-based applications. Additionally, it seeks to diversify corn-based products, introduce innovative product designs, and offer interactive media and training modules for corn processing. The initiative received a highly positive response from the Biralle Kunyi farmer group and State Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 4 Polongbangkeng Utara, the program's target groups. Implemented in two phases, the program successfully improved the knowledge and technical skills of participants in processing yellow corn into value-added food products and effectively marketing them via social media. As a result, the digitalization process was optimized, significantly supporting the promotion and commercialization of processed yellow corn products, thereby contributing to the region’s economic growth.

Abstract

This study examines the transformative role of Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Kunir in fostering socio-economic development within its surrounding community. By implementing empowerment programs that integrate students (santri) and local residents, the pesantren not only serves as an educational institution but also as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth. Through job creation, vocational training, and cooperative development, the pesantren enhances local livelihoods while fostering self-reliance. Key initiatives include hiring local labor in agriculture, construction, and livestock management, as well as operating cooperatives that supply essential goods to both the pesantren and the broader community. Moreover, entrepreneurial training has empowered local residents to establish and sustain small businesses, reducing economic dependency and promoting financial resilience. The findings reveal a significant socio-economic impact, demonstrating how pesantren-based initiatives can serve as scalable models for community-driven development. Strengthening partnerships with government agencies and private sectors could further amplify these impacts, ensuring long-term economic sustainability. This study contributes to the discourse on the role of Islamic educational institutions in community empowerment, offering insights for policymakers and development practitioners seeking to integrate religious institutions into broader socio-economic frameworks.

Abstract

Sidoarjo is a city with over 171,000 MSME units, reflecting significant economic potential. However, maximizing this potential requires a strategic approach, particularly through business legality facilitated by the Business Identification Number (NIB). NIB not only provides access to financing but also strengthens consumer trust, expands market opportunities, and fosters collaborations with larger businesses. This study aimed to socialize and assist MSME actors in Gemurung Village, Gedangan District, Sidoarjo Regency, in understanding and managing NIB through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system developed by the Indonesian government. The methods applied included direct observation, educational sessions, and hands-on assistance in the NIB registration process. The results demonstrate that business legality through NIB significantly enhances MSME competitiveness and scalability. Several assisted business actors successfully obtained NIB and experienced increased consumer trust, broader market reach, and improved business prospects. This initiative serves as a replicable model for other regions, ultimately strengthening the national economy by integrating MSMEs into the formal business ecosystem.

Abstract

Many Indonesian students face significant challenges in learning English, particularly in speaking skills. Despite early exposure to English in schools, active speaking remains a struggle for many learners. The advancement of technology has opened new opportunities for educational innovation, including the use of educational games as engaging and interactive learning media. This study aims to develop an Android-based educational game that focuses on improving English conversation skills using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The game is specifically designed to assist school children who experience difficulties in basic English speaking. Through an interactive and enjoyable approach, this game is expected to enhance students' learning motivation, strengthen their vocabulary acquisition, and improve their ability to construct simple sentences. The research follows six stages: concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. Black box testing results indicate that all menu functions and interactive features operate correctly, providing users with seamless access to tutorials, level-based challenges, and an engaging assessment system. This educational game serves not only as an alternative learning tool but also as a means to improve English literacy among students. By integrating gamified learning, the application fosters an immersive and enjoyable learning experience, contributing to more effective English language acquisition. Ultimately, this innovation has the potential to support students' communication skills, increase their confidence in using English, and contribute to the broader goal of enhancing English proficiency in Indonesia.
