FOKUS AND SCOPE Jurnal Sultra Elementary School focuses on publishing research findings, theoretical studies, and innovative developments in the field of Elementary Education through a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. The journal aims to broaden academic perspectives and enhance educational practices by integrating various disciplines relevant to the challenges of 21st-century learning. The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics: Innovative learning strategies in elementary education; Literacy and numeracy development to foster critical thinking skills; Character education and the formation of Pancasila student profiles; The use of media and digital technology in teaching and learning; Assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes; Curriculum design and teacher professionalism in elementary schools; Inclusive education and differentiated instruction; Integration of education with psychology, sociology, arts, health, and environmental studies; Social and civic education, including democracy education, youth voter participation, children’s political literacy, and the early development of civic awareness and social responsibility. Through this comprehensive scope, Jurnal Sultra Elementary School serves as an academic platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of elementary education that is humanistic, democratic, and sustainable.

Abstract

The use of interactive technology in education has become a major concern in improving students' listening skills, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of interactive technology in teaching listening skills, the challenges faced in its implementation, and the impact on students' cognitive development. The results showed that interactive technology can improve students' listening skills, but there are challenges in infrastructure and teacher training that need to be overcome. This study concludes that the integration of interactive technology in basic education needs to be supported by adequate policies and continuous training for educators

Abstract

Digital literacy plays an important role in developing critical thinking skills of elementary school students. With the advancement of information and communication technology, children are now more exposed to information coming from various online sources. Digital literacy which includes the ability to access, evaluate, and manage information can strengthen students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to examine the role of digital literacy in improving critical thinking skills of elementary school students through an in-depth literature study. The results of the study indicate that digital literacy can improve students' ability to analyze, evaluate, and utilize information effectively, which in turn strengthens their critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The diversity of cultures, religions, and ethnicities in Indonesia is a valuable asset but often becomes a source of conflict, especially in elementary school environments. Multicultural education is an essential approach to addressing discrimination and intolerance among students by instilling values of respect for diversity from an early age. This study aims to analyze the role of multicultural education in mitigating discrimination and intolerance through structured implementation in elementary school settings. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis from three elementary schools with diverse student backgrounds. The results of the study indicate that systematically designed multicultural education can enhance students' understanding of diversity, reduce negative stereotypes, and build stronger tolerance among students. This research contributes to the development of multicultural-based curricula and teacher training to create inclusive learning environments.

Abstract

Bullying behavior in elementary schools is becoming an increasingly disturbing problem, because it has a negative impact on students' mental health and social-emotional development. Character education can serve as an effective prevention strategy to address the phenomenon of bullying among students. Through the development of good character values, such as empathy, respect, responsibility, and justice, students are expected to be able to reduce bullying behavior. This study aims to examine the role of character education in preventing bullying behavior in elementary schools through an in-depth literature study. The results of the study indicate that character education that is consistently applied can create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, which reduces the incidence of bullying.

Abstract

Environmental education in elementary schools not only aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, but can also play an important role in building positive social attitudes among students. Environmental education programs implemented in elementary schools can introduce social values ​​such as cooperation, empathy, responsibility, and respect for others. Through environmental-based activities, students can develop attitudes that care about social and environmental issues, and play an active role in creating positive changes in their communities. This study aims to examine the role of environmental education in building positive social attitudes in elementary school students through an in-depth literature study. The results of the study indicate that an integrated environmental education program can increase social awareness and shape students' characters who are more concerned about others.

Abstract

Collaborative learning and teamwork in elementary schools have been proven effective in developing students' social attitudes. Through learning activities that encourage students to work together, share ideas, and solve problems together, students not only gain academic skills but also develop positive social attitudes, such as empathy, responsibility, and effective communication. This study aims to examine how collaborative learning and teamwork can play a role in building the social attitudes of elementary school students. The results of this literature study indicate that learning that emphasizes cooperation can improve social relationships between students, reduce conflict, and improve social skills that are useful in everyday life.

Abstract

Writing skills play an important role in developing creativity and critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This paper aims to analyze various literatures on the relationship between writing, creativity, and critical thinking in the context of elementary education. Using a literature study approach, this study identifies effective learning strategies and methods to improve writing skills as a means of developing student potential. The results of the study indicate that an approach based on exploring ideas, using technology, and collaborative learning can encourage students to think critically and creatively through writing activities. The implications of this study provide a basis for designing more effective writing learning programs in elementary schools.

Abstract

The use of visual media in learning Indonesian in elementary schools has been proven to improve students' understanding of learning materials. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of visual media, such as images, animated videos, and infographics, in supporting the process of learning Indonesian. The method used is a literature study by analyzing previous studies. The results of the study indicate that visual media can improve learning motivation, critical thinking skills, and students' understanding of the material. Therefore, the use of visual media is recommended as an innovative learning strategy in elementary schools.

Abstract

Writing is one of the important language skills in education, especially for elementary school children. Writing activities not only function as a medium of communication, but also as a means of self-expression that allows children to express their thoughts, feelings, and imaginations. This article aims to examine the role of writing as a medium of self-expression for elementary school children through literature studies. The research method used is a literature review by analyzing various related studies. The results show that writing can increase creativity, critical thinking skills, and children's self-confidence. In addition, the use of appropriate learning approaches and interesting media has proven effective in motivating children to write.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of folklore as a learning medium in improving elementary school students' reading comprehension. Folklore, as a cultural heritage rich in moral values, can be used to stimulate reading interest, enrich vocabulary, and improve students' analytical skills. This literature study examines various relevant previous studies. The results of the study indicate that the use of folklore is effective in creating interactive and meaningful learning. This article recommends the integration of folklore into the Indonesian language learning curriculum in elementary schools
