Abstract

Learning is a complex process that involves a person physically and mentally throughout his life. The learning process occurs because of the interaction between a person and his environment. Therefore, learning can occur anytime and anywhere. One sign that a person is said to have experienced a learning process is a change in behavior in that person which includes changes in the level of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The interactions that occur during the learning process are influenced by the environment, which includes students, teachers, librarians, principals, learning materials (books, modules, magazines, video or audio recordings, etc.) and various learning resources and facilities (overhead projectors, radio, television, computers, libraries, etc.). In the teaching and learning process, the presence of media has a fairly important meaning. Because in these activities, the ambiguity of the material presented can be helped by presenting media as an intermediary. Although the initial goal of learning is good, if it is not supported by the right media, this good goal is very difficult to achieve properly. A media in learning will affect whether information is complete and on target or not, and affect the final results of the learning process. However, even so, there are still many educational institutions that are less concerned with the existence of media. It is proven that there are many cases of educators who do not use media in accordance with the material being taught, so that in learning Islamic religious education, students have many difficulties in absorbing and understanding the lessons delivered, Educators have difficulty delivering lesson materials, many students feel bored with Islamic religious education lessons. This can be identified as a problem of lack of understanding of educators in the application of media in the learning process.

Abstract

In the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy, the curriculum is seen as a holistic guide rooted in divine values, with the Qur'an and Hadith as its primary sources. Ontologically, the curriculum includes all educational components aimed at developing human potential in its entirety, encompassing cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual aspects. Islamic epistemology asserts that Allah is the ultimate educator, while humans are learners who must submit to His teachings. From an axiological perspective, the Islamic curriculum aims not only for academic success but, more importantly, for the development of noble character (akhlaq), with a primary focus on devotion to Allah.

Abstract

Leadership is defined as the ability and readiness to inspire, guide, direct and lead others, meaning that a leader is able to be an inspiration for the community he leads. TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan Institution is an Islamic boarding school educational institution that educates its students with an emphasis on community orientation and leadership. This boarding school has succeeded in producing alumni with leadership capacities in various organizational fields. For this reason, it is important to conduct in-depth research on the implementation of leadership values applied in this institution. The type of research conducted is qualitative case study research. Data sources were obtained from Mudir Mahad, Mudir Aam, Head of Santrian Affairs, MPO, Muayrifah, Class V Homeroom Teachers and Class V female students. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. From the results of this study, it was found that the form of implementation of leadership values towards class V female students applied at the TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School consists of Theory and Practice. In theory, the activities carried out in the implementation of leadership values are through briefing. The briefing is implemented in the form of KKS (Student Group Leadership), SEKBEN (Secretariat and Treasury) and, LDP/PKM (Basic Training for Supervisors/Leadership and Management Training). While in practice, the implementation of leadership values by the TMI Putri Al-Amien Prenduan institution is attempted in the form of training and assignments. In addition, this study also produced several inhibiting factors in the implementation of leadership values, including internal and external factors. Internal inhibiting factors are caused by the lack of awareness of female students of the importance of leadership values, thus affecting the focus of female students which results in female students not listening and not paying attention during the briefing session. External inhibiting factors are caused by the lack of supervision from homeroom teachers, Mpo Staff, committees and the lack of media or variation in delivering the briefing material.

Abstract

This study analyzes the principal's strategy in improving teacher discipline at MI Al-Azizy Daleman Karduluk, a private madrasah with limited facilities. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of the principal and teachers. The results of the study revealed four effective strategies: (1) spiritual motivation based on religious values ("teaching as worship") which builds teachers' intrinsic commitment; (2) concrete role models of the principal through consistent time discipline; (3) empowerment of teachers with additional tasks to create a sense of belonging; and (4) supervision of learning administration as a control mechanism. The main supporting factors include family ties between teachers as alumni of the foundation and consistent role models of leaders, while limited teacher welfare and variations in individual awareness are significant challenges. These findings strengthen the theory of transformational leadership and social learning in the context of Islamic education, showing that non-material approaches (spiritual, relational, and role models) are able to overcome limited material resources. This study provides practical contributions for private madrasah managers in developing a model of teacher discipline coaching that is adaptive to local conditions.

Abstract

This study compares literacy and numeracy development policies and practices between Indonesia and Australia, focusing on national assessments, learning strategies, and teacher quality and professional development. In Australia, the National Assessment Program-Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is the main instrument in monitoring student achievement and promoting data-driven interventions. Indonesia, on the other hand, is implementing the National Assessment and Merdeka Curriculum in response to the challenges of 21st century education quality and relevance. Indonesia struggles with infrastructure inequality, teacher quality and policy implementation readiness, while Australia faces education disparities between urban and rural communities and indigenous groups. This research uses a desk study approach to analyze policy documents, scholarly publications and official reports from both countries. The results show that strengthening literacy and numeracy requires a systemic approach that includes flexible curriculum planning, informative assessments, ongoing teacher training and the use of data for continuous improvement. This cross-country study provides important insights for policymakers and education practitioners in designing contextualized and sustainable education quality improvement strategies, especially in strengthening students' essential competencies to face global challenges.
