Jurnal Indonesia Kajian Pendidikan Islam (JIKPI) is an open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing and disseminating state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of Islamic education. Abstract

Background: The implementation of exemplary values in students' character education during Akidah Akhlak lessons, both at school and at home, is crucial for cultivating good behavior. However, applying these values outside the classroom remains challenging, particularly in terms of students' consistency in practicing the knowledge acquired at school within their home environment. Objective: This study aims to examine how exemplary values are implemented in Akidah Akhlak education among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 05 Bengkulu Tengah.Method: A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis focused on understanding how exemplary values are applied both in the classroom and at home. Results: The findings indicate that the implementation of exemplary values by the third-grade teacher at school was effective and categorized as good. However, the application of knowledge at home remains limited, as students are less consistent in practicing what they have gained due to a lack of awareness and fear of parental authority. Conclusion: While the implementation of exemplary values at school is effective, support from the home environment is necessary to strengthen students' habit formation. Contribution: This study offers recommendations for teachers and parents to enhance the consistency of applying exemplary values, thereby ensuring that Akidah Akhlak education is more effective both in school and at home.

Abstract

Background: The integration of technology into the learning process is expected to have a positive impact on both educators and students, making learning more engaging and increasing students’ motivation. However, successful implementation requires readiness from both teachers and students. Objective: This study aims to explore the role and application of technology in Islamic Religious Education and its effectiveness in improving teaching and learning processes. Method: The research employs Library Research (literature study) to collect and analyze information on technological developments in Islamic Religious Education. Relevant literature, studies, and guidelines were reviewed to understand how technology can be integrated in accordance with Islamic principles. Results: Technology in Islamic Religious Education serves as a tool, learning resource, and media to support teachers in innovating their teaching methods. Practical applications and media identified include TikTok, Instagram, Microsoft PowerPoint, and YouTube, all of which can enhance learning while adhering to the guidance of the Qur’an and Hadith. Conclusion: Technology plays a crucial role in modernizing Islamic education, enhancing student engagement, and improving the quality of learning. Contribution: This study provides educators with guideline-compliant strategies for integrating technology effectively in Islamic Religious Education, fostering active and innovative teaching practices.

Abstract

Background: The low academic achievement of first-grade students at SD IT Ar-Ridho Palembang in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly in the material on the two sentences of the creed, is due to teaching methods that are not active enough and are not suitable for the material. Objective: This study aims to determine whether the application of the Talking Stick method can improve student achievement in this material. Method: This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through formative tests to measure student learning achievement, as well as observations of teacher and student activities during the learning process. Results: The study demonstrated that the application of the Talking Stick method can enhance student engagement, make the learning process more interactive, and facilitate students' memorization and understanding of the two sentences of the shahada. Conclusion: The Talking Stick method is efficacious in improving student learning achievement while creating a fun and participatory learning atmosphere. Contribution: This study contributes an alternative active learning method that Islamic Education teachers can apply to improve the quality of learning and student learning achievement, especially in lower grades.

Abstract

Background: Low student learning outcomes in Islamic education are often attributed to traditional teaching methods that fail to actively engage students. Implementing interactive methods, such as Peer Group Teaching (peer tutoring), is expected to enhance student participation and mastery of Islamic education material. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Peer Group Teaching (peer tutoring) method in Islamic education subjects for Class VII students at SMPN 29 Oku and assess its impact on improving student learning outcomes. Method: This research adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, which included three cycles: pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. Each cycle involved planning, action implementation, observation, and analysis-reflection stages. The research subjects were Class VII students, and data were collected through competency tests and observations of group learning activities. Results: The findings indicate that the use of the Peer Group Teaching (peer tutoring) method improved student learning outcomes. Out of 30 students, 26 (87%) met the minimum competency criteria (KKM) of 77, surpassing the success indicator of 80%. However, 4 students (13%) had not yet achieved individual mastery. Conclusion: The Peer Group Teaching method is effective in enhancing Islamic education learning outcomes and fostering active student participation. Contribution: This study offers practical guidance for teachers on implementing peer-assisted learning to improve student engagement and achievement in Islamic education subjects.

Abstract

Background: Learning to read and write the Qur’an is a fundamental skill for students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Traditional teaching methods often result in limited student engagement and lower learning outcomes. Implementing an active learning model, such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), is expected to improve students’ Qur’an reading skills. Objective: This study aims to determine the improvement in students’ ability to read the Qur’an after the application of the PBL model. Method: The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of one meeting, which included action planning, implementation of the PBL model, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Student learning outcomes were analyzed descriptively by comparing results from Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. Results: The findings indicate an improvement in students’ Qur’an reading skills in Class 2B at MIN 2 Bengkulu Selatan. Learning outcomes increased by 5%, from 62% in Cycle 1 to 67% in Cycle 2, within four days of implementing the PBL model. Conclusion: The PBL model effectively enhances students’ Qur’an reading skills by fostering active participation and problem-solving abilities. Contribution: This study guides teachers on implementing PBL to improve Qur’an reading learning outcomes, promoting active learning and student engagement in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

Background: Learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level are strongly influenced by the learning models applied by teachers. Teacher-centered instructional practices tend to limit student participation and understanding, thus requiring the use of more interactive learning models, such as cooperative learning. Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of cooperative learning models and their effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students in Islamic Religious Education. Method: This research employed a quantitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observations and learning outcome tests. Data analysis was conducted using simple statistical techniques, including calculating mean scores, learning completeness, and learning achievement levels. Results: The findings indicate that applying the cooperative learning model improved students’ learning outcomes. This improvement is reflected in higher average test scores and greater learning completeness among students. Conclusion: The study concludes that cooperative learning models are effective in enhancing students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level. Contribution: This research provides empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of cooperative learning as an instructional strategy and offers practical insights for teachers to improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education instruction in elementary schools.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam didefinisikan sebagai kerangka pendidikan yang holistik, yang mencakup pengembangan dimensi spiritual, kognitif, etis, relasional, serta fisik individu, dengan landasan utama pada Al-Qur'an dan Sunnah. Makalah ini berisi untuk menguraikan fondasi konsep, prinsip-prinsip dasar, cakupan, serta penerapan pendidikan Islam dalam perspektif kontemporer. Pendekatan penelitian yang diadopsi adalah analisis kepustakaan, melalui pemeriksaan mendalam terhadap sumber-sumber klasik maupun modern yang relevan dengan bidang pendidikan Islam. Analisis temuan menunjukkan bahwa prinsip tauhid berfungsi sebagai pusat dari seluruh proses pendidikan, yang dilengkapi dengan konsep pembelajaran seumur hidup, sintesis antara pengetahuan keagamaan dan sekuler, serta pendekatan pedagogis yang didasarkan pada nilai kasih sayang dan keadilan. Cakupan pendidikan Islam mencakup penguatan keyakinan (akidah), peningkatan kemampuan intelektual, pembentukan karakter moral (akhlak), pengembangan hubungan sosial-keluarga, serta pemeliharaan kesejahteraan fisik. Pada tingkat penerapannya, pendidikan Islam di Indonesia telah berinteraksi melalui institusi formal dan informal, seperti madrasah dan pesantren, meskipun dihadapkan pada berbagai kendala, termasuk pengaruh globalisasi, disparitas aksesibilitas, dan penyesuaian dengan kemajuan teknologi. Makalah ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan Islam memainkan peran krusial dalam membentuk individu yang beriman, berpengetahuan, bermoral mulia, serta kompeten secara fungsional, sekaligus menekankan urgensi inovasi untuk menjaga relevansi nilai-nilai Islam di tengah dinamika globalisasi.
