Abstract

Nowadays, innovation for teaching aids is an important requirement to ensure the teaching and learning process can run smoothly. Coinciding with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 (Ministry of Education) through the ninth surge of Global Online Learning, the development of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was built. The ADDIE model has been adapted for this development. The study aims to develop an appropriate interactive learning for Food and Beverage Presentation subjects based on the Vocational College (VC) syllabus. In research development, researchers use Richey and Klein research recommendations, using Alpha and Beta tests in the evaluation phase of the study. The population of the study involved 155 Catering students at Muar Vocational College and the sample of the study were 60 of third and fourth-year Diploma students. The sampling method used is the purposive sampling and the instrument used in the form of the questionnaire. Data collected were collected and analyzed descriptively using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0. Based on the analysis, the reliability value of the instrument is 0.997 and shows that the reliability of the instrument is at a high level. The findings show that the use of MOOC can increase computer literacy (3.75), interest (3.78) and student learning styles (3.75) and make the learning process more interesting. In addition, the findings show that the use of the MOOC application can help students in improving the performance and achievement of students in learning and thus can be an alternative to diversifying the teaching and learning process in VC.

Abstract

This study was aimed at finding out the difference in learning achievement in basic computer system course (DSK) between the students who learned from content e-problem-based learning in experiment class and those who learned  from  conventional model in control class in learning basic computer system course. This study used quasi-experimental non-equivalent Pretest Post-test Control Group Design. There were three variables involved in this study. Two of them were  independent variable and dependent variable. The independent variable was e-problem-based learning and the dependent variable was learning achievement. Another variable which functioned as covariate was students'prior learning achievement. The population consisted of all students of the first semester in Informatics Engineering Education Department. The sample was selected by using simple group random sampling technique. An essay test was used to know the students'basic computer system learning achievement (DSK). The hypothesis was tested by  one-way analysis of co-variance (ANACOVA). The results showed that the mean score in the learning achievement of the students who learned from  content e-problem-based learning was higher than that of those  who learned from using conventional model. Content e-problem-based learning plays the role in improving students' learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the process of developing a learning media simulator for electro-pneumatic systems based on dual design, (2) knowing the effectiveness of learning media in the form of electro-pneumatic system simulators based on dual design. This research is a research and development adapted from the 4D development model, namely, Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The subjects of this study were students of Mechanical Engineering Education in Semester IV and V, with 30 students taking pneumatic hydraulic courses. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires and interviews with research instruments in the form of interview guidelines and questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed with a descriptive quantitative method. The results show that (1) the results of the development of learning media for electro-pneumatic system simulators based on Dual Design as supporting media for electro-pneumatic practices produce three main components, namely the working system in the pneumatic electro system, wiring diagrams, and electrical circuits, (2) the feasibility results of expert validation media is 84% (Very Good), expert material validation is 92% (Very Good), and user validation is 86% (Very Good). Therefore, the learning media for electro-pneumatic system simulator is feasible as a learning media in pneumatic hydraulic courses.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the feasibility and the effectiveness of web-based interactive multimedia called EMMASY. This multimedia was developed for learning automation of the personnel administration in vocational high schools. The type of this research is a research and development using the design of learning multimedia development from Alessi and Trollip which includes planning, design, and development. At the development stage, alpha test was conducted by the experts of media and materials to determine the feasibility followed by beta test by the users to find out the usefulness and summative test to find out the effectiveness. In summative test, the sampling technique was purposive. The data of Interviews and observation were analysed descriptive-qualitatively while the data of questionnaire and tests were analysed descriptive-quantitatively. The results showed that EMMASY is very feasible as a learning multimedia with the media-expert's score of 93.12% and the material-expert's score of 93.75%. The result of the usability test showed a score of 79.6% with feasible category. The result of summative test using independent samples t-test showed t-test significance value of 0.008 less than 0.05. In addition, tobs ttable (9.009 2.048) meaning that there is significant mean score difference of the students' knowledge in experimental and control classes; so EMMASY is considered effective to improve students' understanding of human-resource-management materials.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of conventional learning. Besides, student learning motivation is still low due to student activities that are less centered on making workpieces that are suitable for work in the industry. Learning outcomes show that only 55.88% of students reach Minimum Completeness Criteria (Kriteria Ketuntasan minimum or KKM). The design and learning of productive machining competencies that are in accordance with the needs of the industry influence students' experience and learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the results of industrial project-based learning (InPro-BL) milling machine competency learning outcomes in SMK Negeri 1 Semarang. The method used in this study is Class Action Research (CAR) through four stages: (1) planning, (2) implementation of actions, (3) observation and evaluation, (4) reflection. The samples were 34 students of class XII of Mechanical Engineering. The data were collected using product assessment instruments to measure dimensional accuracy, timeliness, level of disability, level of smoothness, and work attitude. This study was descriptive quantitative, and qualitative. The results of the study show that InPro-BL is effective in improving the learning outcomes of milling machine competencies. In Cycle I,  there is an increase in learning outcomes, from 19 students who completed the KKM to 25 students or 73.52%. In Cycle II, there are 88.23% of students passed the KKM. These results can be improved by paying attention to the management of learning time through the block system, teacher's understanding of industrial-project-based learning, and industry guest teachers mentoring every learning process.

DEVELOPING OF COMPUTER ASSISTED CONTEXTUAL CONSTRUCTIVE LEARNING MODULE IN THE MACHINE TRAININGThis research was aimed at investigating constructivist learning model for machining process. Interactive Computerised Module of constructivist teaching principle has been developed at the first year of research. This further research was aimed at implemention of the module and its effectiveness. This research was carried out by means of Research and Development. Data was analysed descriptively. The research investigated, that: module have satisfied feasibility both in theoretical and empirical aspects. There are three roles of module: (1) as media, (2) as supporting media in practice, (3) as interactive and individual learning. The implementation of module into teaching and learning should not in uniform manner within different teachers and facitlities for vocational schools.
