Abstract

Objective: This research addresses the issue of ethnic conflicts in Iraqi society by analysing the Kurdish-Turkmen conflict in the city of Kirkuk as a representative example of the complexities of national diversity in Iraq, seeking to explore the historical, social and political dynamics that have shaped this chronic conflict, focusing on the intersection of competing identities with struggles over power and resources, and their impact on the reproduction of tensions between societal components. Method: The research adopts a multidimensional analytical framework based on theories of social identity, realist conflict, and symbolic interaction to explain the mechanisms of ethnic polarisation in Kirkuk. Result: The findings show that the absence of inclusive state institutions, the employment of sub-identities by political elites, and regional interventions have all contributed to perpetuating a state of mutual distrust and marginalisation between Kurds and Turkmen, while also addressing the social, psychological and economic consequences of the conflict, including the disintegration of social networks, the deepening of feelings of identity closure, and the stagnation of development in disputed areas. Novelty: The research concludes with a number of strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing opportunities for peaceful coexistence and effective diversity management, including reforming representative institutions, distributing resources equitably, and promoting an inclusive national identity, drawing on comparative international experiences.

Abstract

Objective:  This study aims to increase the curiosity of children aged 5–7 years through the use of innovative Educational Play Tools (APE) made from recycled materials. Method: The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 children at KB TK Aisyiyah 25 Wage in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, using an observation sheet on curiosity that includes indicators of asking questions, trying, exploring, and being enthusiastic. Analysis was carried out descriptively, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Results: The results showed an increase in children’s curiosity from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, children who reached the high category were 60% (9 out of 15 children), while in cycle II this increased to 80% (12 out of 15 children). This achievement exceeds the research success indicator, namely at least 75% of children show high curiosity. Novelty: The use of innovative APE from recycled materials has proven effective in fostering curiosity in early childhood and provides a creative learning alternative that teachers can apply in the classroom.

Abstract

Objective: Early marriage remains a phenomenon that is quite high in Pasuruan Regency, including in Mororejo Village, Tosari District. This condition has serious implications for reproductive health, education, as well as the risk of stunting in children. Through community service activities (Abdimas), counseling was conducted for adolescents with the aim of increasing understanding of the impact of early marriage as well as supporting the realization of Mororejo Village free from stunting. Method: The method used was interactive lectures, group discussions, and role play accompanied by pre and post activity evaluations. Results: The results showed a significant increase in adolescent knowledge, where previously 65% of participants did not understand the relationship between early marriage and stunting, then after counseling more than 85% were able to explain the impact well. In addition, there was a positive change in attitude, shown by the commitment of adolescents to delay the age of marriage and increase attention to reproductive health. Novelty: This activity proves that an educative-participatory approach is effective in increasing adolescents’ critical awareness and can be a strategy to prevent early marriage as well as reduce stunting rates in Mororejo Village.

Method: Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes various strategies such as role-playing, collaborative projects, storytelling, discussions, and literary exercises to identify how mother tongue instruction stimulates creativity. Data were reviewed from relevant educational practices and literature to examine how linguistic familiarity, emotional connection, and teacher facilitation enhance students’ motivation and originality. Results: The findings indicate that integrating creative activities into mother tongue lessons not only strengthens vocabulary and language proficiency but also significantly enhances curiosity, imaginative thinking, and critical reasoning. Moreover, a supportive classroom environment and individualized guidance were found to be crucial in nurturing students’ creative potential. Novelty: This study highlights the unique role of native language instruction as a catalyst for creativity development, presenting it as an underexplored yet vital avenue for cultivating innovative, confident, and flexible thinkers in primary education. By positioning mother tongue lessons as a foundation for creativity, this research underscores their broader contribution to holistic student growth and future readiness.

Abstract

Objective: The current study aims to explore the conflictive speech acts used in political arguments as a tool of persuasion to undermine Russia's role and attitudes as a prominent participant in foreign policy and a large economic power. Method: Using conflictive language, the American president attempts to isolate Russia from the rest of the world, characterising it as a terrorist state intent on attacking not only Ukraine but all of the world's countries. Results: This part is not explicitly mentioned in the original text, but you could infer that the results would focus on how the use of conflictive speech acts shapes the perception of Russia in global discourse. Novelty: The novelty lies in the examination of how political leaders use conflictive speech acts as a strategic tool in international relations and foreign policy, specifically targeting Russia.

Abstract

Objective: Objective: This research aims to explore the implementation, challenges, and impacts of the I'dad program in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) based on the principles of Child-Friendly Schools and Islamic values. Method: The research method uses a qualitative approach with case studies, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Result: The results of the study show that the program focuses on students' academic, social, and emotional readiness through individual and classical approaches and multisensory learning methods. Islamic values such as prayer before study and patience are integrated into daily activities. This program has succeeded in improving students' reading, writing, and motor skills, as well as building Islamic character. However, challenges such as limited media, therapy spaces, and custom module designs are still faced. Regular evaluation, collaboration with parents, teachers, and psychologists are the key to the success of this program. Novelty: With continuous development, the I'dad program has the potential to become an inclusive education model based on Islamic values to support students' readiness to study in Indonesia.

Abstract

Objective: The study aimed to explore the effectiveness of modern teaching strategies in enhancing teacher performance in Kirkuk Governorate, while also analysing the impact of certain demographic variables, including gender, academic qualifications, and years of experience, on the adoption of these strategies. Method: The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, and the study was conducted on a sample of 130 male and female teachers from schools in Kirkuk Governorate. Data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of 26 items divided into three axes: the first axis contains 10 items related to teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of modern teaching strategies; the second axis includes 10 items related to the challenges of implementing these strategies; and the third axis contains six items related to the impact of these strategies on student performance. Results: The study results showed a moderate to high positive trend toward the use of modern teaching strategies, with an overall mean of 3.86, reflecting an overall agreement rate of 77.2%. It also showed no statistically significant differences between male and female teachers or between teachers with different academic qualifications in their opinions about these strategies. However, the study revealed statistically significant differences according to years of experience, with teachers who had more experience holding more positive views about the effectiveness of these strategies. Novelty: The study uniquely highlights the role of years of teaching experience in shaping teachers’ positive perceptions of modern teaching strategies, while demonstrating that gender and academic qualifications do not significantly influence these perceptions.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores the U.S. geostrategic and economic interests in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, analyzing how these interests shape U.S. policy and contribute to the ongoing deadlock in peace negotiations. Method: The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing secondary sources such as textbooks, journal articles, newspapers, government publications, and international news outlets, which were analyzed using content analysis. Results: The findings reveal that U.S. policy is predominantly driven by geostrategic goals, such as maintaining regional dominance, securing Israel's security, and accessing critical resources like oil. U.S. support for Israel has reinforced power imbalances, undermining the possibility of a fair peace process for Palestine. Despite numerous peace initiatives, U.S. strategic interests have consistently overshadowed efforts toward equitable solutions. Novelty: By applying Realism as a theoretical framework, this study provides insights into the dominance of power and security concerns in shaping U.S. policy in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for a reassessment of U.S. economic and security policies to prioritize Palestinian sovereignty and fair development. The study recommends multilateral diplomacy to ensure equitable representation in peace negotiations.

Abstract

Objective: This paper examines the role of international actors in the Nigeria insurgency between 1999 and 2010, focusing on the socio-economic and environmental legacies of their interventions. It aims to assess the success of international diplomatic efforts in addressing the insurgency's contextual causes, particularly environmental destruction and socio-economic disparities. Method: The study applies the World-Ecology framework to link global capitalist flows with local ecological and social disasters. A historical and qualitative research method is used, drawing from secondary sources such as scholarly publications, non-governmental reports, and global news agencies. Results: The findings reveal that multinational corporations, such as Shell, played a significant role in exacerbating environmental degradation in the Niger Delta, contributing to local resentment and insurgency. While non-governmental organizations like Amnesty International highlighted these abuses, their impact was limited due to the absence of binding legal frameworks and the political complexities involved. Novelty: This paper offers a unique perspective by applying the World-Ecology framework to analyze the intersection of global capitalism, environmental destruction, and socio-political unrest in the Niger Delta. It underscores the failure of international interventions to address the root causes of the insurgency and provides recommendations for improving corporate accountability and advancing peacebuilding efforts.

Abstract

Objective: This paper examines the social action method and the EndSARS protest in Nigeria from a social work perspective, with the aim of recommending solutions to address the causes of the protest and police brutality in Nigeria. Method: The study adopts the structural-functionalist theory and utilizes a qualitative approach through survey research. Data was collected from secondary sources, including journal articles, newspapers, and online publications. Results: The findings reveal that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) became notorious for its brutality and human rights abuses, with a lack of accountability for its actions. The Nigerian economy also faced significant financial losses during the protests. Furthermore, the Police Act of 1943, which grants broad discretionary powers to police officers, facilitates the abuse of power. Novelty: The paper highlights the global impact of the EndSARS protest, focusing on police brutality in Nigeria. It recommends a multi-stakeholder approach to reform, including engagement with civil society organizations, traditional institutions, and youth employment initiatives, to address systemic issues and foster sustainable development.
