SAWERIGADING is a journal aiming to publish literary studies researches, either Indonesian, local, or foreign literatures. All articles in SAWERIGADING have passed reviewing process by peer reviewers and edited by editors. SAWERIGADING is published by Balai Bahasa Sulawesi Selatan twice times a year, in June and December. SAWERIGADING focuses on publishing research articles and current issues related to language, literature, and the instructor. The main objective of SAWERIGADING is to provide a platform for scholars, academics, lecturers, and researchers to share contemporary thoughts in their fields. The editor has reviewed all published articles. SAWERIGADING accepts submissions of original articles that have not been published elsewhere nor being considered or processed for publication anywhere, and demonstrate no plagiarism whatsoever. The prerequisites, standards, and format of the manuscript are listed in the author guidelines and templates. Any accepted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two referees. Authors are free of charge throughout the whole process, including article submission, review and editing process, and publication.

Abstract

Teror novel is the last series of Johan tetralogy. The writing is to uncover the personality of Johan's character usinghumanistic psychology approach and descriptive qualitative method. Result of analysis shows that Johan childhoodbackground is full of suffering and traumatic that make Johan has split personality and becomes psychopath. Itcould be seen by the existence of other personality and traits tending to a psychopath like egoistic, apathetic, anddetermined to take a risk for hurting and even for killing his own father. AbstrakNovel Teror merupakan bagian akhir dari tetralogi Johan series. Tulisan ini mengungkapkan kepribadian tokohJohan melalui pendekatan psikologi humanistik dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisismenunjukkan bahwa latar belakang masa kecil Johan yang penuh penderitaan hingga mengalami trauma, yangmenghantarkan Johan mengalami gangguan kepribadian ganda dan menjadi seorang psikopat. Hal itu bisa dilihatdari kemunculan pribadi lain dan sifat-sifat yang menjurus dia seorang psikopat, seperti egosentris, tidak punyaempati, dan berani menyakiti bahkan membunuh ayah kandungnya sendiri.

Abstract

Toraja regional literature implied values those are practiced and performed by regional literature endorser. The effort to discuss local wisdom values in Toraja poetry aims at growing and spreading positive aptitude of society towards literature. Therefore, to analyze it, objective approach will be used (focusing on text as it should be). Besides that, descriptive method is used by applying sociology of literature. Toraja poetries consist of londe, badong, rettengg, paqtendeq, bating, pontobannang. Result of the research shows that Toraja poetry implies local wisdom values needed to be applied. The values are religious value, humanity value, leadership value, unity value, gathering value, and moral value Abstrak Sastra daerah Toraja mengandung nilai-nilai yang dianut atau diemban oleh pendukung sastra daerah tersebut. Upaya pengangkatan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam puisi Toraja itu bermaksud memupuk sikap positif masyarakat terhadap sastra. Tulisan ini memfokuskan diri pada tema dan kaitannya dengan yang lain. Oleh karena itu, untuk menganalisisnya, akan digunakan pendekatan objektif (berfokus pada teks sebagaimana adanya). Selain itu, digunakan metode deskriptif dengan ancangan sosiologi sastra. Puisi-puisi Toraja terbagi atas londe, badong, retteng,paqtendeq, bating,pontobannang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam puisi Toraja terdapat nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang perlu diaktualisaksikan. Nilai-nilai itu antara lain, adalah nilai religi, nilai kemanusiaan, nilai kepemimpinan, nilai persatuan, nilai kegotongroyongan, dan pendidikan moral

Abstract

Challenges in education during the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era demand the optimal utilization of digital technology. However, disparities in access and low competencies of educators and learners remain major obstacles. This study aims to develop a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on digital technology to improve students’ scientific writing skills in the Indonesian language course. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the ADDIE model, which includes needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests of scientific writing skills, in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and student motivation questionnaires. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis for interviews and observations, and paired t-test statistical analysis to examine the difference between pre-test and post-test scores quantitatively. The results show a significant improvement in students’ scientific writing ability, with an average pre-test score of 62.0 increasing to 79.1 in the post-test (p 0.05). Students also demonstrated high motivation and active involvement in the learning process, despite some technical challenges. This model is expected to be an effective alternative for integrating digital technology into Indonesian language learning in higher education institutions. AbstrakTantangan dalam pendidikan era Revolusi Industri 4.0 menuntut pemanfaatan teknologi digital secara optimal. Namun, disparitas akses dan rendahnya kompetensi pengajar serta pemelajar menjadi kendala utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran Project-Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis ilmiah mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi analisis kebutuhan, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test kemampuan menulis ilmiah, wawancara mendalam, observasi proses pembelajaran, serta kuesioner motivasi mahasiswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif untuk data wawancara dan observasi, serta analisis statistik paired t-test untuk menguji perbedaan skor pre-test dan post-test secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan kemampuan menulis ilmiah mahasiswa dengan rata-rata skor pre-test 62,0 menjadi 79,1 pada post-test (p 0,05). Mahasiswa juga memiliki motivasi tinggi dan keterlibatan aktif dalam pembelajaran, meskipun terdapat beberapa tantangan teknis. Model ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif efektif untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas Rukun Haji dalam Syair Haji Karya Muhamad Fanani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan rukun-rukun haji yang ditemukan dalam syair haji. Penelitian ini dikaji menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi dengan teknik baca dan catat. Data penelitian bersumber dari buku Kitab Syair Sejarah, Konsep, dan Contohnya. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini kemudian dianalisis menggunakan kajian Hermeneutika Paul Ricouer. Hasil penelitian memuat simbol-simbol rukun haji. Simbol rukun haji tersebut meliputi ihram, wukuf, tawaf, sa’i, tahallul dan tertib. Keenam simbol tersebut dapat ditafsirkan bahwa syair haji menyampaikan keutamaan-keutamaan rukun haji yang penting dipahami oleh orang yang akan berhaji dalam memaknai haji yang sesungguhnya, serta apa yang harus dibekali kepada orang yang sedang berhaji.

Abstract

This research aims to convey tenses in Wotu language.This research applies the qualitative method to find the complete and valid data. The data is collected by library study of reading varies literature, for instance; books, journals, and other resources related to this research, in particular, theories and researches of tenses. There are eleven oral discourses of Wotu language consisting of legend, fable, sage, myth, fairy tale and Wotu sentences become the object analysis in this study. The result shows that there are no grammatical features in marking tenses of Wotu language. Tense is only marked by adverbial times that refer to absolute and relative times. The absolute times are expressed by ijiawi (yesterday), yani eyyoe (today),and laile (tomorrow). Then, relative times are expressed by idiulu (past), innie/mokokkoni (now), nono (later), laipuwa (day after tomorrow), etc.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe pronouns in Manado Malay. The data consists of spoken languages thatgathered from native speakers and written ones that taken from the Bible—Joseph and Jonas, Manado- MalayDictionary, the adolescent's short stories in Manado Malay, and populer songs in Manado Malay. This researchmethod by using descriptive.The data were collected by listening and writing techniques. The data analyzedwith structural analysis. The result shown that there were three pronouns; personal pronoun, demonstrativepronoun, andpossessive pronouns called as independent pronouns,characteristic of pronoun is interchangeable,another characteristic possessive pronouns in front of noun. Generally, those pronouns function as subjects andadverbs. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pronomina dalam bahasa Melayu Manado. Data diperolehdari penutur asli, terjemahan Alkitab ke dalam bahasa Melayu Manado, kamus Melayu Manado, lagu populerdalam bahasa Melayu Manado. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik simak dan teknik catat. Data dianalisis denganmenggunakan analisis struktural dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan ada tigajenis pronomina, yaitu 1) pronomina persona, 2) pronomina kepemilikan, 3) pronomina penunjuk umum.Berdasar bentuknya, pronomina bahasa Melayu Manado merupakan pronomina mandiri. Ditinjau dari ciricirinya,pronomina bahasa Melayu Manado acuannya berpindah-pindah, ciri lainnya pronomina kepemilikanselalu berada di sebelah depan nomina. Ditinjau dari fungsinya dalam kalimat, pronomina bahasa MelayuManado sebagian besar menduduki fungsi subjek dan keterangan dalam kalimat.

Abstract

The usage of Makassarese language could be the research object on account of having many dialect variations and one of Austronesian language existing until today; its speakers are also still found in the capital Province of South Sulawesi. The preservation efforts are necessary to do either on script or anthropology aspects.Language structure has its own identity in which each part reflects its identity and relates to. Therefore, the study of negation as one of the parts of language structure is interesting to do. It belongs to descriptive in order to describe negation constituent in Lakiung and Turatea dialect of Makassarese language. For getting factual, informative, and accurate explanation, field and library researches are done. Data collection is done by observation with listening and noting technique, whether on written or oral data. Data analysis is donethrough three levels, providing, analyzing, and displaying data analyzed. In selecting data, identification technique is used to describe negation form and its variations and its usage in the sentences. Negation forms found in Lakiung and Turatea dialects of Makassarese language based on analysis is bound morpheme taKand its alomorf and free morpheme such as tena, tea in Lakiung dialects tania (tangia) tanre, tea followed by pronoun in Turatea dialectAbstrakPenggunaan bahasa Makassar dapat dijadikan sebagai objekk kajian karena bahasa Makassar yang beragam dialek adalah salah satu bahasa Austronesia yang masih bertahan hingga kini, penggunaannya pun masih ditemukan di ibukota provinsi. Upaya pelestariannya terus diupayakan baik pada aspek aksara hingga pada aspek antropolisnya. Bentuk negasi adalah salah satu aspek dalam bahasa. Bentuk negasi  dalam bahasa Makassar berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan bentuk negasi dalam dialek Lakiung dan Turatea yang berupa bentuk terikat, seperti taK- dan alomorfnya. Selain itu, ditemukan pula bentuk bebas, seperti tena, tea dalam dialek Lakiung tania (tangia) tanre, tea yang diikuti pronomina dalam dialek Turatea. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, yaitu penyediaan data, analisis data, dan penyajian hasil analisis. Setiap tahapan itu mempunyai metode yang dijabarkan dalam teknik-teknik sesuai dengan hakikat objek penelitian dan sifat penelitian ini. Data yang diperoleh dari sumber lisan dan tertulis dilakukan melalui metode observasi dengan teknik simak dan catat. Dalam pemilahan data digunakan teknik identifikasi, yaitu dengan memperhatikan distribusi, fungsi, dan makna konstituen negatif dalam setiap tataran gramatikal. Teknik ini digunakan dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk negasi dan variasi-variasi serta pemakaiannya di dalam kalimat.  Abstract            The using of Makassarese language can be made into research object because it has may dialect variations, and one of the variation is Austronesian that is still survive until now, and its using is still can be found in capital of the province. The revitalization efforts are still sought on script aspects and antropolis aspects. Negation form is one of the language aspects. Makassarese negation form is based on data analysis found that negation form in Lakiung dan Turatea dialect are bound form, such as taK- dan its alomorf. Besides, the writer found free form, such as tena, tea in Lakiung dialect tania (tangia), tanre, tea that followed by pronomina in Turatea dialect. Data analysis ini this research was done by  three steps, step one is provision of data, step two is analysis of data, and step three is presentation of the analysis results. Every steps has desribed methods in techniques based on the research object dan the nature of the research. The data taken from oral and written sources through observation methods with listen and note technique. In choosing data, the writer uses identification technique with pay attention to distribution, function, and negative constituent meaning in every gramatical order. This technique is used to desribe negation form and it variations, and its usage in sentences.Key Words: dialect, Makassarese, dan negation

Abstract

The writing is aimed at describing substance of the brave man myth in '"Latopajoko " short story by Badaruddin Amir using Roland Barthes theory. The writing is conducted in qualitative descriptive method through noting technique, interviewing technique, and library research. Then, the analysis finds out the myth relating to the brave man, nomad ancestor, becoming bodyguard of king, having invulnerability (panimbolok), fighting until death (polopa-polopanni), having sacred teacher and having been ready to examine. Those myths have substance in building braveness, having faith in whole to transcendental thing, having been high ethos, believable, eagerness in learning, and taking part in solving the problem. Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan menggambarkan substansi mitos towarani dalam cerpen "Latopajoko" karya Badaruddin Amir melalui teori konsep mitos Roland Barthes. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik catat,wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Analisis ini kemudian menemukan gambaran mitos yang berkaitan dengan towarani, yakni turunan pengembara, menjadi pengawal raja, memiliki panimbohk (kekebalan), pohpapolopanni ( berjuang habis- habisan), memiliki guru yang sakti, dan siap untuk diuji. Mitos-mitos tersebut memiliki substansi yang membentuk sebuah karekter seorang pemberani, di antaranya keyakinan penuh kepada hal transendental, memiliki etos kerja yang tinggi, dapat dipercaya, selalu mau belajar, dan total dalam memecahkan masalah.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the expression of emotion in the speech of the character Atta in the film "Jumbo" through a psycholinguistic approach. The focus of this study is how the emotions—both primary and secondary—experienced by the character Atta are represented through his verbal utterances. The theories used in this study are Robert Plutchik's basic emotion theory and Soenjono Dardjowidjojo's language production theory. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data in the form of Atta's speech were obtained through observation, audio-visual recording, and transcription of film dialogue. Analysis was carried out by classifying the forms of speech based on Plutchik's emotional categories and examining linguistic elements such as diction, sentence structure, and intonation within a psycholinguistic framework. The results show that Atta's speech represents various complex emotional expressions, such as anger, sadness, jealousy, and empathy, which are realized through certain word choices and speech patterns. This study shows that Atta's emotional changes throughout the film reflect his psychological dynamics, which can be linguistically traced through the language patterns used. This research contributes to the understanding of the relationship between language and emotion in the context of fictional characters. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji ekspresi emosi dalam tuturan tokoh Atta pada film Jumbo melalui pendekatan psikolinguistik. Fokus kajian ini adalah bagaimana emosi baik primer maupun sekunder yang dialami tokoh Atta direpresentasikan melalui tuturan verbalnya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori emosi dasar Robert Plutchik serta teori produksi bahasa menurut Soenjono Dardjowidjojo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data berupa tuturan tokoh Atta diperoleh melalui observasi, perekaman audio-visual, dan transkripsi dialog film. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengklasifikasikan bentuk tuturan berdasarkan kategori emosi Plutchik dan mengkaji unsur linguistik seperti diksi, struktur kalimat, dan intonasi dalam kerangka psikolinguistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tuturan Atta merepresentasikan berbagai ekspresi emosi kompleks, seperti kemarahan, kesedihan, kecemburuan, dan empati, yang direalisasikan melalui pilihan kata dan pola tuturan tertentu. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan emosi Atta sepanjang film mencerminkan dinamika psikologisnya, yang secara linguistik dapat ditelusuri melalui pola bahasa yang digunakan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman hubungan antara bahasa dan emosi dalam konteks karakter fiksi.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the character education values contained in Gending Rare as well as to understand the meanings embedded within them. A qualitative method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Palmer’s hermeneutic approach to interpret the meanings found in the lyrics of Gending Rare, which include the songs Putri Cening Ayu, Juru Pencar, Meong-Meong, and Dadong Dauh. The findings indicate that the song Putri Cening Ayu contains six character education values, namely religiosity, discipline, hard work, curiosity, appreciation of achievement, and responsibility. This song conveys the values of Balinese family life, particularly the relationship between mother and child. The mother’s instruction to her child to take care of the house reflects emotional closeness and the teaching of responsibility. The song Juru Pencar presents seven character education values, including religiosity, discipline, hard work, appreciation of achievement, friendliness/communication, social care, and responsibility. It reflects the life of coastal communities in Bali who rely on fishing. Through its simple lyrics, the song conveys values of perseverance, cooperation, and environmental awareness. Meanwhile, the song Meong-Meong contains five character education values: religiosity, hard work, independence, environmental care, and responsibility. It conveys life lessons through the story of a cat trying to catch a mouse. Animal characters are used as metaphors to instill careful, reflective, and responsible thinking in children. The song Dadong Dauh contains six character education values, including religiosity, discipline, hard work, independence, environmental care, and responsibility. Its meaning portrays an elderly woman patiently caring for chickens as part of Balinese daily life. Through its simple narrative, the song conveys values of perseverance, attentiveness, and respect for the role of elders.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam Gending Rare serta memahami makna yang terdapat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan pendekatan hermeneutika Palmer guna menafsirkan makna dalam syair Gending Rare, yang meliputi lagu Putri Cening Ayu, Juru Pencar, Meong-Meong, dan Dadong Dauh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lagu Putri Cening Ayu mengandung 6 nilai pendidikan karakter, di antaranya religius, disiplin, kerja keras, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, dan tanggung jawab. Lagu ini mengandung makna kehidupan keluarga Bali yang sarat nilai, khususnya dalam hubungan antara ibu dan anak. Amanah ibu kepada anak untuk menjaga rumah mencerminkan kedekatan emosional sekaligus pembelajaran tanggung jawab. Lagu Juru Pencar memuat 7 nilai pendidikan karakter, termasuk religius, disiplin, kerja keras, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Lagu ini mempunyai makna kehidupan masyarakat pesisir Bali yang menggantungkan hidup pada aktivitas menjala ikan. Melalui syair sederhana, lagu ini menyampaikan nilai perjuangan, kebersamaan, dan kesadaran lingkungan. Sementara itu, lagu Meong-Meong mengandung 5 nilai pendidikan karakter, yakni religius, kerja keras, mandiri, peduli lingkungan, dan tanggung jawab. Lagu ini mempunyai makna menyampaikan ajaran hidup melalui kisah seekor kucing yang berusaha menangkap tikus. Tokoh binatang digunakan sebagai metafora untuk menanamkan cara berpikir yang cermat, reflektif, dan bertanggung jawab. Lagu Dadong Dauh mengandung 6 nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter seperti religius, disiplin, kerja keras, mandiri, peduli lingkungan, dan tanggung jawab. Makna dalam lagu ini menggambarkan sosok nenek yang dengan sabar merawat ayam sebagai bagian dari kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Bali. Melalui kisah sederhana, lagu ini menyampaikan nilai ketekunan, perhatian, dan penghormatan terhadap peran orang tua.
