SAWERIGADING is a journal aiming to publish literary studies researches, either Indonesian, local, or foreign literatures. All articles in SAWERIGADING have passed reviewing process by peer reviewers and edited by editors. SAWERIGADING is published by Balai Bahasa Sulawesi Selatan twice times a year, in June and December. SAWERIGADING focuses on publishing research articles and current issues related to language, literature, and the instructor. The main objective of SAWERIGADING is to provide a platform for scholars, academics, lecturers, and researchers to share contemporary thoughts in their fields. The editor has reviewed all published articles. SAWERIGADING accepts submissions of original articles that have not been published elsewhere nor being considered or processed for publication anywhere, and demonstrate no plagiarism whatsoever. The prerequisites, standards, and format of the manuscript are listed in the author guidelines and templates. Any accepted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two referees. Authors are free of charge throughout the whole process, including article submission, review and editing process, and publication.

Abstract

Toraja regional literature implied values those are practiced and performed by regional literature endorser. The effort to discuss local wisdom values in Toraja poetry aims at growing and spreading positive aptitude of society towards literature. Therefore, to analyze it, objective approach will be used (focusing on text as it should be). Besides that, descriptive method is used by applying sociology of literature. Toraja poetries consist of londe, badong, rettengg, paqtendeq, bating, pontobannang. Result of the research shows that Toraja poetry implies local wisdom values needed to be applied. The values are religious value, humanity value, leadership value, unity value, gathering value, and moral valueAbstrak Sastra daerah Toraja mengandung nilai-nilai yang dianut atau diemban oleh pendukung sastra daerah tersebut. Upaya pengangkatan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam puisi Toraja itu bermaksud memupuk sikap positif masyarakat terhadap sastra. Tulisan ini memfokuskan diri pada tema dan kaitannya dengan yang lain. Oleh karena itu, untuk menganalisisnya, akan digunakan pendekatan objektif (berfokus pada teks sebagaimana adanya). Selain itu, digunakan metode deskriptif dengan ancangan sosiologi sastra. Puisi-puisi Toraja terbagi atas londe, badong, retteng,paqtendeq, bating,pontobannang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam puisi Toraja terdapat nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang perlu diaktualisaksikan. Nilai-nilai itu antara lain, adalah nilai religi, nilai kemanusiaan, nilai kepemimpinan, nilai persatuan, nilai kegotongroyongan, dan pendidikan moral

Abstract

This research aims to prepare the production of multicultural cultural houses to increase UNY's income generation from a creative economy perspective. This effort is expected to support UNY's vision and mission as a world-class university while simultaneously increasing UNY's income generation in the era of PTNBH (State-Owned Legal Entities). The production of multicultural cultural houses is realized through collaboration between study programs within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FBSB) UNY, utilizing the potential of local language, art, literature, and culture that are marketable as creative economy commodities. This study utilizes the theory of exploratory and collaborative cultural house production development, related to the empowerment of local language, art, literature, and culture. The research method used is qualitative, encompassing heuristic, exploratory, and negotiative approaches, which serve as analytical tools to develop Javanese cultural entrepreneurship packages as a competitive advantage. The results indicate that the production of multicultural cultural houses can be achieved through two steps. First, the development of a pranatacara package that utilizes panyandra practices, which are related to the ethnomathematic concept of spiritual hydrology, is realized through the empowerment of macapat songs in the siraman manten tradition. Second, the empowerment of collaborative elements of language, art, literature, and culture from an ethnobotanical perspective in the Panggih Manten tradition, where panyandra is embodied in the form of parikan (pantun) and macapat songs combined with gending (traditional music). AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menyiapkan produksi rumah budaya multikultural untuk meningkatkan income generating UNY dalam perspektif ekonomi kreatif. Upaya ini diharapkan mampu mendukung visi dan misi UNY sebagai world class university sekaligus meningkatkan income generating UNY di era PTNBH. Produksi rumah budaya multikultural diwujudkan melalui kolaborasi antarprogram studi di lingkungan FBSB UNY, dengan memanfaatkan potensi bahasa, seni, sastra, dan budaya lokal yang layak jual sebagai komoditas ekonomi kreatif. Kajian ini menggunakan teori pengembangan produksi rumah budaya secara eksploratif dan kolaboratif, yang berkaitan dengan pemberdayaan karya bahasa, seni, sastra, dan budaya lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif, mencakup heuristic, eksploratif, dan negosiatif, yang berfungsi sebagai alat analisis untuk menghasilkan paket wirausaha budaya Jawa sebagai keunggulan kompetitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi rumah budaya multikultural dapat ditempuh melalui dua hal. Pertama, pembentukan paket pranatacara yang memanfaatkan praktik panyandra, yang terkait dengan konsep etnomatematika hidrologi spiritual, diwujudkan melalui pemberdayaan tembang macapat dalam tradisi siraman manten. Kedua, pemberdayaan unsur kolaborasi bahasa, seni, sastra, dan budaya dalam perspektif etnobotani budaya pada tradisi panggih manten, di mana panyandra diwujudkan dalam bentuk parikan (pantun) dan tembang macapat yang dikolaborasikan dengan gending.

Abstract

The writing proposes language usage of Indonesian-Buginese language code switching and vice versa ofIslamic preaching in Masjid Nurul Iman, Sinjai Borong District of Sinjai Regency. Method used is descriptive.The data obtained is sentence characterized with code switching of Islamic preaching conveyed in MasjidNurul Iman, Sinjai Borong District of Sinjai Regency. Result of research shows that the preacher and theaudience are mutual intelligible in using Buginese language. In addition, the preachers also sometimes speakin Indonesian language as welcoming preaching or prolog of formality form. The use of Indonesian-Buginesecode switching and vice versa is a way to estalish good relations between Buginese speakers. Code switchingis one aspect of interdependency language in multilingual society. In the code switching case of either twolanguages or more, it is marked by (1) each language still support its own function based on the context, (2)the function of each language is in accordance with the relevant situation of contextual change. They becomethe reason of language switching in preaching found in Masjid Nurul Iman. The switching of code is done bythe preachers since they are difficult to find relevant and right words which are easier to understand by theaudience.

Abstract

This article investigates comprehensively two basic problems that are relevant to Arabic teaching and learning using on-line media in Indonesia. The first problem will investigate the relation between the theory of “thematic progression patterns” (especially linier pattern) and the Arabic creative writing process at two Islamic High Schools in Central Java. They are: MAN 2 Surakarta and SMA 4 Muhammadiyah Andong, Boyolali. The outcome of the first problem is to gain the synergy between Arabic learning in Indonesia and the development of general linguistic theories. The novelty in this article related deeply to the on-line method learning of Arabic creative writing based on Systemic Functional and Corpus method. The second problem of this research will investigate the process of Arabic creative writing learning using the on-line method. The research method had been structured in three stages, such as: (1) collecting the data by observation method, both in the literature review and in the field (research partners) using a questionnaire, (2) analyzing data using a distributional method, and (3) reporting the results using an informal form or a narrative in ordinary words. The results of the study had been concluded that there were four main models that became patterns for developing themes in Arabic creative writing, they were: (1) The Constant Theme Pattern (at-tawāliy ma‘a maudhu‘āt mustanbithah), (2) The Linier Theme Pattern (at-tawāliy al-’ufuqī al-basīth), (3) The Split Rheme Pattern (attawāliy li-chadītsi muqassami) dan (4) Derived Themes (at-tawāliy ma‘a maudhū‘āti mustanbithah). The first two patterns of developing the theme, namely the Constant model and the Linear model, are the fundamental basis for the process of creative writing in Arabic. Therefore, tactical strategies are needed that can be used to optimize the process of creative writing in Arabic based on Functional Systemic Linguistics and Arabic Corpus, one of them is to take advantage of online learning to write Arabic creative writing. The online learning process has been done in (Open Course Ware, Universitas Sebelas Maret) OCW UNS.AbstrakArtikel ini menginvestigasi macam-macam pola pengembangan tema yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam proses pembelajaran menulis kreatif bahasa Arab berbasis “Tema Linier” di dua sekolah mitra, tempat dilaksanakan penelitian, yaitu MAN 2 Surakarta, dan SMA 4 Muhammadiyah Andong, Boyolali. Rumusan masalah pertama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana relasi antara menulis kreatif bahasa Arab dengan teori “pengembangan tema” yang ada dalam teori Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional (LSF) dalam kaitannya dengan penulisan kreatif bahasa Indonesia. Kajian ini bertujuan agar sinergisitas antara kajian bahasa Arab dan bahasa Indonesia di Indonesia dapat berkembang secara holistik seiring dengan kajian teoritis ilmu bahasa (linguistik umum) yang terus berkembang secara pesat. Kebaruan dalam artikel ini tercermin dari rumusan masalah kedua, yaitu terkait investigasi proses pembelajaran menulis kreatif bahasa Arab secara daring (on-line) berbasis Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional dan Metode Korpus Arab-Tunis. Metode penelitian tersusun dalam tiga tahapan, yaitu: (1) menjaring data secara observasi, pustaka, dan lapangan (mitra penelitian) dengan media kuesioner, (2)analisis data dengan metode distribusional, dan (3) laporan hasil dengan menggunakan bentuk informal atau narasi dengan kata-kata biasa. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat empat model utama yang menjadi pola pengembangan tema dalam menulis kreatif bahasa Arab, yaitu: (1) The Constant Theme Pattern (at-tawāliy ma‘a maudhu‘āt mustanbithah), (2) The Linier Theme Pattern (at-tawāliy al-’ufuqī al-basīth), (3) The Split Rheme Pattern (at-tawāliy li-chadītsi muqassami) dan (4) Derived Themes (at-tawāliy ma‘a maudhū‘āti mustanbithah). Sementara itu, dua pola pengembangan tema pertama, yaitu model konstan dan model linier menjadi landasan fundamental dalam proses menulis kreatif bahasa Arab. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan strategi-strategi taktis yang dapat digunakan untuk mengoptimalkan proses menulis kreatif bahasa Arab berbasis Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional tersebut, salah satunya adalah memanfaatkan kajian pembelajaran daring menulis kreatif bahasa Arab berbasis data korpus Arab, sebagaimana yang telah dilakukan dalam (Open Course Ware, Universitas Sebelas Maret) OCW UNS.

Abstract

The objectives of this study (1) produce digital modules using demonstration methods, (2) knowing the response of students and teachers to digital modules, (3) knowing obstacles during development, (4) testing the effectiveness of the use of digital modules using demonstration methods in improving the ability to write procedure texts compared to conventional teaching materials, (5) testing the effectiveness of using digital modules using demonstration methods in increasing students' learning independence compared to conventional teaching materials. The research method used is R D (Research and Development) from Borg and Gall which is simplified into 5 main steps. Data is collected through observation, interviews and questionnaires. Instrument data processing procedures include validity test, normality test, paired sample t test, paired sample statistics test, homogeneity test, independent sample t test, independent static group test sample t test, n-gain test, and descriptive analysis. The research locations are at SMK Texar Karawang, SMK Sehati Karawang, SMK BK 1 Karawang, and SMK PGRI Telagasari. The results of this development research are in the form of digital modules using demonstration methods. The digital module format is generated through google sites.com and question creation through google form.com. The responses of the students and teachers of the four schools were either categorized or agreed. Several obstacles were found during the development of digital modules. The results of the product test proved the effectiveness of the digital module using the demonstration method in improving the ability to write procedure texts and student learning independence in the experimental class compared to conventional teaching materials in the control class. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini (1) menghasilkan modul digital (2) mengetahui respon siswa dan guru terhadap modul digital, (3) mengetahui kendala saat pengembangan, (4) menguji efektivitas penggunaan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks prosedur dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional, (5) menguji efektivitas penggunaan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R D (Research and Development) dari Borg and Gall yang disederhankan menjadi 5 langkah utama. Data dikumpukan melalui observasi, wawancara serta angket. Prosedur pengolahan data instrumen meliputi uji validitas, uji normalitas, uji paired sample t test s, uji paired sample statistics, uji homogenitas, uji independent sample t test, uji grup stastistik independen sample t test, uji n-gain, dan analisis deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian di SMK Texar Karawang, SMK Sehati Karawang, SMK BK 1 Karawang, dan SMK PGRI Telagasari. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini berupa modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Format modul digital dihasilkan melalui google sites.com dan pembuatan soal melalui google form.com. Respon siswa dan guru keempat sekolah terkategori baik atau setuju. Ditemukan beberapa kendala saat pengembangan modul digital. Hasil uji produk membuktikan keefektifan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks prosedur dan kemandirian belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional pada kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Learning Indonesian culture and Indonesia language for forigners (BIPA) is quite closely related. However, there have been many researches regarding cultural mastery of BIPA students in imaginative writing. By using literary anthropological method supported by Kroeber and Kluckhohn, this research aims to reveal Indonesian cultural images in imaginative writing of BIPA students in Sacred Heart Girls College and the connection between Indonesian cultural mastery and the complete of the story. The result shows the category of Indonesian culture in sixth imaginative writings, are normative behavior (“Berubah Menjadi Tikus” and “Sesuatu di Balik Bantal”), custom (“Burung Toti” dan “Lima Hari”), history on social heritage and tradition (“Blangkon”), psychology, arrangement (“Sesuatu di Balik Bantal”), and psychology, learning (“Terlewat Perjalanan dari Bantal”). Indonesian cultural mastery and the complete elements of story are interrelated. If culture footing is good, the story will be complete. The incompleteness of a story is seen from the unwell conveyed description, character, and culture shows their lack of understanding of Indonesian culture.AbstrakPemahaman budaya Indonesia dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing (BIPA) cukup erat kaitannya. Akan tetapi, belum banyak penelitian tentang penguasaan budaya pemelajar BIPA dalam tulisan imajinatif. Dengan menggunakan metode antropologi sastra yang didukung oleh pendekatan budaya dari Kroeber dan Kluckhohn, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap gambaran budaya Indonesia dalam tulisan imajinatif pemelajar BIPA di Sacred Heart Girls College dan keterkaitan antara penguasaan budaya Indonesia dan kelengkapan unsur-unsur cerita. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan kategori budaya Indonesia dalam keenam cerita, yaitu perilaku normatif (“Berubah Menjadi Tikus” dan “Sesuatu di Balik Bantal”), kebiasaan (“Burung Toti” dan “Lima Hari”), sejarah pada warisan sosial dan tradisi (cerita “Blangkon”), psikologi, pengaturan (cerita “Sesuatu di Balik Bantal”), psikologi, dan pembelajaran (cerita “Terlewat Perjalanan dari Bantal”). Penguasaan budaya Indonesia dan kelengkapan unsur-unsur cerita saling terkait. Jika pijakan budaya tidak kuat, cerita yang disampaikan tidak utuh. Ketidaklengkapan cerita itu terlihat pada penyampaian latar tempat dan tokoh, serta budaya yang tidak detail sehingga menunjukkan kekurangpekaan budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

The objective of the writing is to describe social reality in Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari using sociology of literature theory. The data is analyzed using descriptive method, and collected by library study with identifying written data in novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk. The result shows that there is concerned social reality in Dukuh Paruk Subdistrict. It is caused by the poverty and lack of knowledge possessed by its society. Social reality found in the novel is poverty, sorcery, tyranny, love, prostitution, pre-wedding sex, trickery, social jealousy and sexual abuse.

Abstract

The struggle of four women, Ranting, Gendhing, Tawangsri, and Zhang Mey is interesting to be analyzed, particularly by using feminist point of view which has duty to speak out the struggle of women and encourage the women to become themselves. The primary data of this research is “Garis Perempuan”, a novel by Sanie B.Kuncoro. Descriptive-qualitative method is used to analyze the data by using radical feminist approach. Based on the discussion result, it can be concluded that the four women have a hard and brave character to take all risks and to become themselves. At first, they were subordinated by men. However, they eventually became brave and strong to be dominant. In the end of the story, the life chosen by those four women in the novel points out that sexual construction and women subjectivity in dominating patriarchy culture can be broken by women superiority of their body and beauty. AbstrakPerjuangan empat tokoh perempuan, Ranting, Gendhing, Tawangsri, dan Zhang Mey, menjadi dirinya sendiri menarik untuk dikaji dengan menggunakan sudut pandang feminis yang memang memiliki tugas menyuarakan perjuangan kaum perempuan. Data primer penelitian ini adalah novel Garis Perempuan karya Sanie B. Kuncoro. Metode deskriptif-kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data melalui pendekatan atau acuan teori feminis radikal. Beradasarkan hasil pembahasan, disimpulkan bahwa keempat tokoh perempuan yang dikaji memiliki karakter yang keras dan berani mengambil seluruh risiko untuk menjadi dirinya sendiri. Awalnya mereka menyandang karakter perempuan tersubordinasi oleh kaum laki-laki. Namun, di tengah perjalanan hidup mereka pada akhirnya memiliki keberanian dan kekuatan untuk mendominasi atas dirinya sendiri. Pilihan hidup yang dipilih oleh keempat tokoh perempuan dalam novel ini di akhir cerita menyiratkan konstruksi seksualitas dan subyektifitas perempuan dalam dominasi kultur patriarki dapat terpatahkan oleh superioritas perempuan atas kepemilikan tubuh dan kecantikannya.

Abstract

This article concerns with the usage of the ambiguity in Buginese, especially for the Buginese language of Soppengdialects.The research shows that the ambiguity is trend to use by the speaker with many purposes: the language values thatis stated in his mental image. Euphemism is another way to keep this language values to avoid forbidden or taboo. Thus,the speaker always tries to keep the feeling of his audience by bringing his concept or the audience cognition to theacceptable meaning or meaning domain that is accepted by the two parts. The research uses descriptive qualitative methodscombined with the semantics perspective to interpret surface structure (language) on to the deep structure (the meaning ofthe meaning) that is actualized by phonemes, morpheme, and sentences. AbstrakMakalah ini berkenaan dengan masalah ambiguitas, khususnya bahasa Bugis Dialek Soppeng. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan, bahwa ambiguitas cenderung digunakan oleh penutur dalam berbagai tujuan,terutama berkaitan dengan nilai bahasa yang tersimpan di dalam mental imaginasinya. Penggunaaneufimisme merupakan cara lain untuk tetap menjaga nilai bahasa tersebut dalam rangka menghindari hal-hal yang dilarang atau sifatnya taboo. Dengan demikian, penutur selalu mencoba menjaga perasaanlawan tutur dengan cara membawa konsep atau koginisi audiensnya ke arah berterima atau kearahdomain arti yang berterima dari kedua belah pihak. Penelitian makalah ini menggunakan metodedeskriptif kualitatif dipadu dengan pendekatan semantik untuk menginterpretasi struktur permukaan(bahasa) kedalam struktur dalam (arti) yang diaktualisasikan melalui fonem, kata, frase dan kalimat.

Abstract

The paper is to describe the derivation system in Muna language. The method applied in collecting data is listening method by using tapping, simak libat cakap (the writer involves in the conversation of the object), simak bebas libat cakap (the writer does not involve), and noting technique. The method applied in analyzing is the intralingual matching with comparative technique for the similarity and differentiation. After analyzing, the data is showed in formal and informal method. The result shows that the derivational system in Muna language is affixation on the base form. The derivational affixes function to form the verb from noun and adjective, to form noun from verb and adjective, and numeralfrom noun. Derivational affixes of Muna language thatfunctions to form the verb are six, i.e. prefix me-, ne-, po-, ko-, feka-, and noko-; for noun, the derivational prefixes are (ka-, ni-, manso-, and kafo-) and circumfixes are (me-no, mo-no, kae-ha), and only one derivational affix forms numerals, prefix se-. Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sistem derivasi dalam bahasa Muna. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyediaan data adalah metode simak dengan teknik sadap, teknik simak libat cakap, teknik simak bebas libat cakap, dan teknik catat. Dalam analisis data digunakan metode padan intralingual dengan teknik hubung banding menyamakan dan hubung banding membedakan. Setelah dianalisis, data itu disajikan dengan menggunakan metode formal dan metode informal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem derivasi dalam bahasa Muna berupa pembubuhan afiks derivasi pada bentuk dasar. Afiks derivasi tersebut berfungsi membentuk verba dari dasar nomina dan adjektiva, nomina dari dasar verba dan adjektiva, serta numeralia dari dasar nomina. Afiks derivasi bahasa Muna yang berfungsi membentuk verba ada enam, yaitu prefiks me-, ne-, po-, ko-, feka-, dan noko-; afiks derivasi yang menurunkan nomina adalah prefiks, simulfiks, dan konfiks, yaitu prefiks ka-, ni-, manso-, kafo-, dan simulfiks me-no, serta konfiks mo-no dan kae-ha; dan afiks derivasi yang membentuk numeralia hanya satu, yakni prefiks se-.
