Abstract

The· purposes of the study were to find out the effect of Lumbung Pangan (Food Barn) Programme to rice farmer's income whether members or non members of the food barn, and to describe the problems faced by the farmers to the existence of the food barn in Danau Karya Village of Anjir Pasar District of Barito Kuala Regency. The results of the study showed that the total cost per hectare expended by the farmers who were members of the food barn was greater than the total cost per hectare spent by non-member farmers, with a difference of Rp 432,228.85The rice farming revenue earned by the member farmers was higher than that gained by non-member farmers, with a margin of Rp 786, 690. 64 per hectare. Moreover, the income received by the member farmers was higher than the income gained by non-member farmers, with a margin of Rp 992, 143.97 per hectare. The results of the calculation using the t test, scored thit(1,823). Figures from the t table with significance level a= 5% or 0.05 with free progression or degree of freedom (df) of 39 was 1.645. It can be concluded that Food Barn Program in Danau Karya Village of Anjir Pasar District affected the increase in the income of respondent farmers who were the members of food bam. The problems or constraints that the member farmers faced was that there were some member farmers whose houses were far enough to reach the barn, insufficient capacity of the barn, and greater costs for transporting fertilizer. Meanwhile, the problems that non-member farmers had were that the use of the barn in the village was only for the registered member farmers, causing social jealousy between the non-member farmers and the member farmers who used the barn.

Abstract

Kecamatan Gambut, where the largest rice cultivation area is located, is one of important rice producers in Kabupaten Banjar. The study analyzes the effect of production factor use on the rice harvest, and analyzes the status of technical and economic elliciency of procluclion factors use on rice farming. The result shows that the value of technical efficiency (TCR) is 0.972 (97.2%), which mean that in general the resource use approachestechnica/. efficient (scale 0- 1 ). The allocative efficiency test finds that land achievesprice efficiency, while the use of capital and labor is not efficient. It is suspected due' to the excess use of capital and labor.

Abstract

This paper is intended as part of efforts to mitigate climate change through the analysis of both the emission of GHG emissions in the past and future emissions. To detennine the sectors that have the potential to reduce emissions and make the emission reduction scenarios. The analysis was performed by the method of decomposition and emission projections. Emission intensity is a measure of the level of emissions per unit of economic activity (as measured by GDP). By comparing the change in the emission intensity of fossil fuels, and GOP. Indonesia's emissions from burning fossil fuels is growing faster than GDP during the decade 1970-2010, so that the emission intensity increases. But Indonesia's emissions intensity also increased sharply from 1970-2010-2 percent per year.Changes in average annual population, GDP per capita, energy intensity and carbon intensity, that in the long term for C02 emissions in Indonesia is increasing carbon intensity. The average annual growth of carbon intensity in Indonesia is relatively high, the annual energy intensity in Indonesia is in the right direction, albeit less progressive. Indonesia's carbon intensity (kg per kg of fuel use eq. Energy) 1.5 kg in 1990 to 2.1 kg in 2010.Looking at C02 emissions by sector, that industrial activity has become a major source of C02 emissions, one of the reasons is that the increasing number of companies in the industry. C02 emissions from the transportation sector grew steadily but lower than the industrial sector. It is interesting that the emissions from the electricity sector grew most rapidly since the mid-1990s. C02 emissions from the residential sector grew the slowest, perhaps reflecting the growing of household electrification. The share of emissions by sector shows the same thing: is the largest industry, electricity is the fastest growing. While total emissions have grown by about 7.5 percent per year, emissions from electricity grew approximately 11 percent I year in the last two decades.Emission reduction potential in the sector, there are 34 sectors of the economy that have the potential to reduce emissions such as electricity, mining, agriculture, forestry, industry, transport and others. Baseline, through decomposition analysis with known emission rate of change of 9. 5% per year and the amount of emissions by 2010, 410 million tC02e then emissions by 2020 if no intervention would be 799 million tons. Emission reduction scenarios by 2020, without intervention would be 799 million tons, with a reduction of 26% (208 million tC02e) then becomes 591 million tC02e emissions; and a reduction of 41% (328 million tC02e), the emissions would be 471 million tC02e.

Abstract

Agricultural development has experienced a rapid shift from traditional to modemagriculture. Some important factors are considered to develop modem agriculture, include improvements oteccess to markets and advanced technology, economic stability, and government intervention. The research identifies the role of agricultural extension and the problems in agricultural machinery app/Jcationin Desa Bangkal, Kecamatan Cempaka, HanJarbaru. I he study finds that the education role is high, which mean that the extension can facilitate the learning process to meet farmer satisfaction .. The role of dissemination, facilitation, and consultation are also cc;3tegonzed as high. On the other hand, the role of supervision, monitoring and evaluation are categorized as medium. Thus, this problem should be tackled downto optimize the extension role.

Abstract

Recently, the fruit demand has increasedin accordance with population growth, improving living standards and income, public awareness of nutrition, and development of industry and tourism sectors. The study explores the agribusiness activity, financial feasibility, and product distribution in the study site. The study calculates that the investment indicatorsof RCR is 4. 72 (> 1 ), the NPV is/DR 322,651,911.79 (> 0), Net BIG is 3.90 (> 1), and /RR is 25.18% (> 20%). Thus, it can be conclude that the citrus farming is financially feasible. The orange distributed in village through direct purchases. Then it is sold to the market or other island cities such as Surabaya end Bali. Finally, some of the oranges are processed further into canned food, beverages and other processed food.

Abstract

Banjarbaru is a city with themulti-ethnic population from various ethnic groups of Banjar, Java, and others. As a result, they have different consumption pattern and preference of rice. The study identifies the effect of the consumer's socio-economic characteristic in determining their choices on particular rice variety consumed. The study reveals that the internal factor in the family (the housewife) has a significant role in deciding the chosen rice. The particular rice is chosen mainly because of taste, while economic factors are not the decisive factor. This finding makes sense since rice is the staple food. The consumershave good perception on rice trader performance, but they dissatisfy vatn the taste, shape, and hygiene of traded rice in the local market.
