Abstract

This study investigates how financial planning and financial stress influence repeated borrowing behaviour among young users of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platforms through a psychological finance perspective. The research aims to measure the impact of individual financial planning and perceived financial stress on continuance intention to borrow among borrowers aged 19–34 in Depok. Data were collected through a cross-sectional survey of 100 purposively selected active P2P borrowers, using multi-item Likert scales to assess each construct. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to examine both measurement and structural models. The results demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity (AVE > 0.50; composite reliability > 0.90) with substantial explanatory power (R² = 0.659). Financial planning exhibited a negative effect (β = −0.416, p < 0.001), while financial stress showed a positive effect (β = 0.470, p < 0.001) on continuance intention to borrow. These findings highlight the dual psychological mechanisms of rational control and emotional pressure driving repeated borrowing, suggesting the need for financial education and stress-coping programs within P2P lending ecosystems.

Abstract

This study explores the emotional and social communication patterns of children with intellectual disabilities (IDD) through a qualitative case study approach. Two participants a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl underwent psychological assessment, in-depth interviews, and behavioral observation at RSD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro Hospital in Semarang. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of emotional regulation, verbal and nonverbal communication, and social adaptability. The findings reveal that both children exhibited deficits in expressive and receptive language, limited emotional regulation, and restricted social engagement. Emotional dysregulation manifested as impulsive behavior, tantrums, and difficulty expressing feelings verbally, while communicative patterns were marked by low initiation, echolalia, and reliance on nonverbal cues. Parental interaction styles and environmental factors, such as inconsistent caregiving and limited stimulation, further shaped these communication dynamics. The study highlights that emotional and social communication challenges in IDD are not solely rooted in cognitive impairment but are also influenced by relational and environmental contexts. These insights emphasize the need for integrative interventions combining emotional coaching, family engagement, and inclusive social experiences to enhance adaptive emotional and communicative functioning among children with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of healing and self-love on Instagram as psychological expressions within digital popular culture. The research is grounded in the rising use of mental health-related hashtags such as #healing and #selflove, which have been used over 51 million and 130 million times respectively in 2025. Using a qualitative approach with content analysis, the study examines public Instagram posts containing these hashtags. A thematic content analysis was conducted to identify the psychological meanings and cultural representations embedded in the content. The findings indicate that healing and self-love trends reflect a paradigm shift from clinical approaches toward more open social expressions of well-being. Drawing on Kristin Neff’s Self-Compassion theory and Martin Seligman’s Positive Psychology, these trends embody values of mindfulness, self-kindness, and resilience that contribute to users’ psychological well-being. However, the phenomenon also shows ambivalence, as it often turns into consumptive and performative behavior. Therefore, balance between self-reflection and social responsibility is needed to maintain authentic healing practices.

Abstract

This study explores the interconnection between Islamic socioeconomic ethics and psychological resilience, emphasizing the integration of faith-based values in promoting community mental health. Grounded in qualitative inquiry, the research examines how principles such as justice (adl), equity, and social responsibility embedded in Islamic economic practices particularly zakat, infak, and waqf contribute to psychological stability and collective well-being. Empirical data from national reports indicate that effective zakat distribution enhances financial security, reduces anxiety, and reinforces trust within communities. Furthermore, the spiritual dimension, encompassing gratitude (shukr), patience (sabr), and reliance upon God (tawakkul), serves as a psychological buffer against economic distress. The integration of these spiritual and ethical elements fosters adaptive coping, social solidarity, and a renewed sense of meaning among individuals facing socioeconomic challenges. The study concludes that merging Islamic ethical economics with spirituality provides a holistic model for sustainable mental health promotion. Such an integrative framework aligns moral responsibility, economic justice, and psychological resilience, offering significant implications for public policy and community-based interventions in Muslim-majority societies.

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of digital information has intensified the phenomenon of doomscrolling the compulsive consumption of negative news that erodes psychological stability and self-control. This study analyzes doomscrolling behavior through the Stoic Dichotomy of Control, which distinguishes between what is within human agency and what is not. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytic design supported by thematic content analysis, it synthesizes insights from empirical psychology, digital sociology, and classical Stoic philosophy. The findings demonstrate that persistent exposure to distressing online content correlates with anxiety, cognitive exhaustion, and reduced emotional agency, with global surveys indicating that approximately 82% of adolescents engage in habitual doomscrolling. The Stoic concept of prohairesis rational moral choice—emerges as a vital strategy for managing digital impulses by focusing on internal judgment rather than uncontrollable external stimuli. The research concludes that applying Stoic ethical principles within digital literacy and mental health education can enhance self-regulation, mitigate compulsive media behavior, and promote psychological resilience amid the incessant flow of online information

Abstract

Drug-resistant epilepsy represents a major clinical challenge due to its complex and multifactorial biological mechanisms. This condition is not solely driven by inadequate pharmacological efficacy but is strongly influenced by genetic alterations affecting drug transport, neuronal excitability, and neuroinflammatory regulation. Genes encoding drug transporters such as ABCB1 and ABCC2 limit antiepileptic drug penetration across the blood–brain barrier, reducing therapeutic concentrations within epileptogenic regions. Meanwhile, mutations in sodium channel genes, particularly SCN1A, SCN2A, and SCN8A, disrupt neuronal excitability by altering action potential dynamics and synaptic balance. In parallel, neuroinflammatory genes including IL1B, TNF, and TLR4 promote chronic inflammatory responses that sustain epileptogenesis and further reduce drug responsiveness. The interaction among these genetic pathways creates a self-reinforcing pathological network that underlies persistent seizure activity despite optimal treatment. Understanding these molecular mechanisms highlights the necessity of precision-based approaches, including pharmacogenetic screening and targeted adjunctive therapies, to improve clinical outcomes in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.
