Abstract

Lovina, often known as Lovina Beach, is a marine tourism destination in Singaraja, North Bali. The tourism potential is still pristine and still maintains its authenticity. The most famous tourist attraction in Lovina Beach is the dolphin attraction. This study aims to describe the Lovina marine tourism destination, how local people participate in the development of Lovina tourist destinations and the obstacles faced by the community in developing Lovina tourist destinations. The research method used in the study is descriptive qualitative, data in this study were collected through observation methods, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. Determination of informants was determined using the Accidental Sampling technique. The results of this study describe tourist destinations seen from tourist destinations, tourist attractions, and tourism facilities. Community participation in the development of marine tourism destinations can be seen from maintaining the sustainability of biota, the formation of tourism awareness groups, the provision of tourism facilities, the provision of jukung (small boat) rentals, taking jobs in the tourism sector, and the holding of the Lovina festival. In the development of marine tourism destinations, there are several obstacles faced in the development of Lovina tourism destinations such as; the less than optimal arrangement and development of tourism potential which can be seen from the environmental pollution of Lovina Beach which greatly disrupts tourist activities. The conclusion drawn in this study shows that in the development of marine tourism destinations on Lovina Beach, local communities have been involved, but in its development, there are still obstacles that can be seen from the environmental pollution that occurs on Lovina Beach. Based on the findings in this study, the study recommends that in developing tourism, the community collaborates with the local government. Further research is recommended to examine the role of government and tourist perceptions.

Abstract

Science and Social (IPAS) program offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with subject matter that is closely aligned with their daily lives. The IPAS program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of geographical conditions, ecosystems, and the surrounding environment. The program's objective is to provide students with an initial understanding of the potential wealth of Indonesia's natural resources in both agrarian and maritime fields. To facilitate this comprehension, educators must construct curricula that are malleable and situated within the real-world contexts of their students' lives, thereby rendering learning more meaningful. The objective of this research is to develop IPAS learning using the Discovery model with the assistance of TPACK, in order to facilitate the accommodation of students' diverse learning needs and the internalization of maritime awareness in their daily lives. This research was conducted using the research and development (R&D) method, employing the Lee & Owen model, which encompasses the following stages: needs assessment and front-end analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial design utilized in this development research consisted of a single group of 30 students from SDI Aisyiyah Jatinom, Blitar. The results of the trial demonstrate that the developed product meets the criteria for moderate effectiveness. This can be evidenced by the more active and explorative learning process, whereby students proactively offer opinions on the problems presented. Furthermore, the results of in-depth observations and interviews regarding the meaningfulness of maritime learning using the TPACK-assisted Discovery model are also discussed.

Abstract

As a tourist destination, various types of marketing strategies are needed in order to ensure the sustainability of the Papandayan Nature Tourism Park and maintain the natural beauty of Mount Papandayan so that it can continue to be enjoyed for a long time. This study uses Qualitative data analysis techniques using secondary data collection techniques. Data collection techniques used include Literature Review and Observation at the Papandayan Nature Tourism Park. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation and influence of Destination Marketing Management in the Papandayan Nature Tourism Park. The results of this study are that the Papandayan Nature Tourism Park has so far implemented many marketing strategies which are marked by an increase in visitors each year, adequate infrastructure, various types of attractions provided and good responses from visitors. The suggestion that can be given from this study is that in the future it would be better if the Papandayan Nature Tourism Park could promote itself more, especially using various platforms such as Websites or Social Media to introduce the Tourist Destination to a wider audience. This is because currently the information available in the media is still relatively minimal and it is still difficult to find out the exact information contained in Papandayan unless tourists visit the place first or see the reviews left by previous visitors.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to make oyster-based amplang taken directly in Lajari, Barru Regency. The abundance of marine natural resources, without oyster cultivation, can breed naturally, so that there is a culinary tour of grilled oysters in Lajari, Barru Regency. The very little utilization of oysters that are only grilled makes this research utilize oysters as a substitute for the main ingredient in making amplang, Oysters were chosen as a substitute for fish in making amplang in the hope of providing product variations and increasing the added value of local marine products. This research used an experimental approach. Data was collected through observation and documentation of the amplang making process as well as organoleptic tests to assess the quality of the final product. The results showed that the use of oysters as the main ingredient in making amplang resulted in a product with unique texture and flavor but less than optimal. In addition, this study also emphasized the importance of maintaining consistency in the manufacturing method to ensure optimal product quality. Thus, this research contributes to the diversification of marine resource-based culinary products in Barru Regency and opens up new opportunities for the development of the local food industry. It is hoped that the results of this study can encourage further innovation in the utilization of oysters and support the economic development of the community.

Abstract

Becoming an alumnus marks the beginning of life for students in their pursuit of employment. Career orientation is the primary goal for graduates to develop the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their studies, although alumni often face challenges in finding jobs. Competition and problems in the job market are common occurrences. Issues frequently arise in the quest for stable income without relevant solutions. Moreover, companies sometimes view alumni as lacking sufficient experience in their fields, thus limiting their opportunities to achieve their career goals. This study aims to explore the experiences of Tour and Travel alumni in seeking employment within the tourism industry, both in formal and informal sectors. The research focuses on understanding the challenges faced by alumni, the relevance of the skills acquired during their studies to labor market demands, and the strategies used by alumni in their efforts to secure suitable employment. This study employs a qualitative method, conducting interviews with several alumni to gain insights into the challenges and strategies they encounter as they enter the workforce. The results of the study revealed that most alumni face various challenges, such as intense competition in the tourism industry, a lack of practical work experience during their studies, and market dynamics that have shifted due to technological advancements and the impact of the pandemic. In addition to technical skills like travel management and customer service, non-technical skills such as communication, negotiation, critical thinking, and adaptability are highly sought after by companies. Some alumni recognize the need to develop networks and participate in additional training or certifications to enhance their competitiveness in the job market. While some alumni struggle to find jobs in the tourism sector, many successfully find employment in other fields that require similar skills, such as hospitality, logistics, and event management. This research provides recommendations for educational institutions to strengthen internship programs and increase collaboration with the industry. Additionally, alumni are advised to continuously update their skills and leverage digital opportunities in their job search.
